Awkward for the guys somewtimes, too - this actually happened last night: I met a girl on OKC, we have been on several no pressure dates. I decide to invite her around to my sunday night Scrabble Night, kind of a weekly thing that I do. As luck would have it, she was the only girl to show (usually it's about even), and none of them actually knew she was someone I met online and was just getting to know. (I try to include people from each of the several circles i run in, so people usually don't know everyone there anyway). And so a 'friend' of mine who I've never invited, for good reason, shows up, drunk and upset because his girlfriend wronged him or something. He starts flirting with my 'date' in the closing-time-must-fuck-something sort of way. Somehow this cues the other guys that it's okay to flirt with this poor girl - by the end of the night she's literally trapped sitting on a window ledge surrounded by three drunk dudes (none of them me)... but I think she actually enjoyed it a bit. She handled the situation pretty well, though it left me feeling like a lion whose kill was trying to be stolen by a pack of hyenas. Everyone went home to their own beds. EDIT: Freudian slip corrected - 'loin' to 'lion' TL;DR I came in second at scrabble and sausage throwing last night.
