Because he told it like it is and everyone got butthurt.

Because he publicly complained about Obama-care and promised to pass the costs on to consumers.
[–]clint_taurus 39 points40 points41 points 2 months ago*
Which is exactly the response that was predicted if ObamaCare was upheld.
ObamaCare punishes businesses which employ more than 50 employees full-time by requiring them to purchase expensive health insurance plans that many businesses simply cannot afford (from Democrat Party donors, no less.)
So, of course, businesses will stop doing this, since they're being PUNISHED for having more than 50 full-time employees.
They're responding exactly as was predicted:
They're laying off people to get under 50 employees to avoid the punitive taxes now associated with growing your business and providing jobs.
They're cutting hours and eliminating full-time work to avoid the punitive taxes now associated with providing full-time employment to people.
The people being laid off and having their hours cut are now subject to $2,000 a year fines for not having health insurance.
These outcomes are neither unexpected, nor undesired. They were the goal of this legislation.
Obama and the Democrats don't WANT you to be able to find a full-time job. They want you on food stamps and he wants you too poor to afford a phone, so that you have to get an ObamaPhone and thus, be beholden to the Dear Leader.
This legislation accomplishes that mission.
It punishes employers who give employees full-time jobs, and it punishes employers who attempt to grow their businesses beyond 50 employees.
The power to tax is the power to destroy.
Obama knows this.
[–]BigWiggly1 19 points20 points21 points 2 months ago
I got mad when you started saying the democrats don't want you to have full time jobs. But you still got the upvote because you helped me see the other side of the arguement.
[–]LeonardTimber 2 points3 points4 points 2 months ago
I appreciated the change of perspective because I felt like I was learning something, but then I read the phrase 'ObamaPhone [...] be beholden to the Dear Leader' and realized that he was being an idiot. Therefore I downvoted him, so that people wont take him seriously.
[–]BigWiggly1 -2 points-1 points0 points 2 months ago
I dont take him seriously. He only got my upvote in hopes that more people will realize that 1) there is two valid sides to the argument 2) they'll also realize that he's a republican who has no idea what he's talking about after he's made is first point
[–]clint_taurus 1 point2 points3 points 2 months ago*
If Democrats WANTED you to have a full-time job, they'd PUNISH employers who only provide part-time jobs.
Instead, they PUNISH employers who provide full-time jobs.
How is this not obvious to you?
We don't want people to smoke .. so we TAX them if they do so.
We don't want people to offer full-time jobs ... so we TAX them if they do so.
[–]BigWiggly1 -1 points0 points1 point 2 months ago
The government charges housing tax. Better panic because they don't want people owning houses now. Most states charge sales/services tax. Shit, guess they want us to stop being consumers too.
[–]theBMB 9 points10 points11 points 2 months ago
So close to making a decent point and creating a legitimate argument against an accepted legislation. Then you just have to throw in some conspiratorial bullshit just to invalidate yourself. This is why no one likes radical conservatives or radicals of any kind.
[–]the1grimace 4 points5 points6 points 2 months ago
A very similar argument could be made for implementing a minimum wage.
[–]mynameisnotjonas 2 points3 points4 points 2 months ago
You can accuse President Obama's economic policies as being ineffective, but to say that he and his party want higher unemployment is a bizarre conjecture.
[–]Datsun44 32 points33 points34 points 2 months ago
Sir, you are the grand hero of reddit. I agree with you and am glad there is another republican on reddit.
[–]2Weird2Live2Rare2Die 1 point2 points3 points 2 months ago
Too bad you guys didn't let him do the single-payer method he wanted, huh? Then he wouldn't have to have tried to make the moribund employer-provided healthcare model actually help people. I guess that's the grand new Republican strategy in action; block the nigpresident at every turn and then pillory him over the half-measures he's forced to take instead. Stay classy, GOP.

All that you have convinced me of is that those businesses are greedy
Edit: it's not that I think they are wrong for covering the expense, it's HOW they're covering the expense
[–]clint_taurus 12 points13 points14 points 2 months ago
They wish to survive long-term. These are low-profit businesses that operate on fairly thin margins. These jobs are designed for young people entering the workforce and are not meant to be life-long careers.
By reducing hours, and eliminating this punishment tax, these businesses can build long-term employment for their remaining employees. If you lose your job because of it ... oh well. Maybe you should have thought about that before you voted for Barack Obama.
This law was written, in fact, to produce this exact result.
This law forces Papa John to eliminate full-time jobs in favor of more part-time jobs. That way, Obama can claim that he's creating jobs.
That's the goal of this legislation: take 50 full-time jobs ... reduce them to part-time jobs, and create "new" jobs.
The fact that these will be low-paying, part-time McJobs is irrelevant. The Democrats' friends in the media will ignore this information as long as Democrats hold political power.
All they'll tell you is that Obama is "creating jobs."
We all know he's not creating jobs. He's merely taking a full-time job and splitting it among two people to create two low-wage, no benefit part-time McShit jobs.
But of course, that's just detail. The MSM will skip that little detail.
[–]pacifist112 2 points3 points4 points 2 months ago
you have explained why, even as a supporter of obamacare, I hate the 50 employee rule, as I feel it is way too low. the idea behind it was to force companies that are very successful to provide for their employees, but with the number being 50 instead of say, 1000, you have the problem of it hurting unintended businesses and small business. the difference in my ideology compared to most on the right wing is, rather than repeal the whole bill, we remove parts of the bill that go against the best for the people.
[–]clint_taurus 0 points1 point2 points 2 months ago
you have the problem of it hurting unintended businesses and small business.
Sorry, but this law isn't going to affect any businesses.
It's going to affect PEOPLE.
People who used to work for those businesses, but aren't going to be allowed to any more.
People who used to be able to find a full-time job, but who won't be able to any more.
ObamaCare doesn't affect businesses. It merely changes how businesses function and organize themselves.
YOU will be hurt by ObamaCare.
Not them.
YOU.
[–]pacifist112 0 points1 point2 points 2 months ago
how so?
[–]jettrooper33 0 points1 point2 points 2 months ago
How about they just give the workers health care? Papa johns could easily find a way to pay for it without punishing workers
[–]clint_taurus -1 points0 points1 point 2 months ago
If it's so easy, then the employees should just do it themselves.
Fuck is this? Businesses aren't in business to buy your shit for you.
The employees don't run a million dollar business
[–]JoeThankYou 5 points6 points7 points 2 months ago
those businesses are greedy
yeah ok, so they should just shell out more cash when people want more things. I hope you become an entrepreneur some day so you see the other side to that coin.
There are many other ways of covering the expense like making products cost an extra few cents
Heaven forbid a company that large pay to make their employees happy with their own money
[–]Jigoogly 0 points1 point2 points 2 months ago
Yes and that's how you run a successful business just shell out cash willy nilly, because hell that's their job is just giving away money to any thing that comes within spitting distance.
[–]jettrooper33 1 point2 points3 points 2 months ago
Making money isn't a problem. Making money at the expense of their workers is.
[–]theSeanO 0 points1 point2 points 2 months ago
Yes, because every business's goal is to break completely even and make no profit whatsoever.
Yes because target, McDonalds and taco bell are gonna go bankrupt for giving their workers insurance. Damn you Obama for making better working conditions!
[–]theSeanO 1 point2 points3 points 2 months ago
I doubt Papa John's will be the only business to speak out against Obamacare. They might not be at risk of going bankrupt, but it will put a lot of strain on them.
I don't blame any relatively small companies for being mad but big businesses have no excuse
[–]Isbit -11 points-10 points-9 points 2 months ago
As a left-wing swede, I want to kindly ask you to go fuck yourself and start considering profit in other terms than just money.
[–]Chuckieshere 1 point2 points3 points 2 months ago
As a person who grew up in a capitalist society, don't be naive.
[–]Isbit 1 point2 points3 points 2 months ago
Oh, trust me, I am not naive. I'm everything but.

I still don't get it, lots of companies are cutting back in differant ways, why hate papa johns
not to mention hes a successful white business man who worked hard for what he got.
[–]taint-misbehavin 2 points3 points4 points 2 months ago
I just hate him because his pizza is shitty
[–]ohgodusername 2 points3 points4 points 2 months ago
By the time I figure out why we hate one group, Reddits moved onto the next group and the cycle starts all over again.
[–]darya521 2 points3 points4 points 2 months ago
Reddit hates him because he admitted that he will pretty much find any loophole to avoid dealing with Obamacare.
[–]beastgamer9136 5 points6 points7 points 2 months ago
Because a lot of people who use the default subreddits are ignorant pricks who find the most trivial things to pick on. This is especially strong from reddit when concerning anyone who doesn't side with Obama. Seriously, fuck the hivemind.

No.. we hate Papa John now. Sell the stock.
[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 2 months ago
i thought they only put stock in soup, not pizza.

Because he's a dick and his pizzas are shit. Or, they are going to raise prices and cut employees hours to compensate for Obamacare. One or the other.
[–]Biggle 6 points7 points8 points 2 months ago
papa johns make some dank pizzas actually.
[–]zorospride 1 point2 points3 points 2 months ago
All the rest might be true, but I like the pizza.
[–]Steph0906 -2 points-1 points0 points 2 months ago
Coming from an ex employee, papa johns was a shitty company to work for before this.
John is a tard. Im sure if the company stopped giving out a million coupons and offers to everyone and their mother, and actually made a profit then maybe, just maybe his greedy ass would be able to afford health insurance. We would put about 7 coupons on each box, plus the coupons you can receive online, and all the mailers that are mailed out. Its quiet ridiculous if you ask me.
I would normally work a 6-8 hour shift, and literally maybe 3 people would pay for a pizza without any discounts. And thats the only reason why papa johns is still around. You can get a large pizza for 10 dollars. Times suck right now, if we weren't in a recession, papa johns would go down so fast.
Ever since the Obama care, prices have been going up and up, smh.
[–]dirtydmix -1 points0 points1 point 2 months ago
Most companies that pay low wages and have high turnover are shit. Welcome to the world.
Retail sucks, food service sucks, digging ditches sucks, all low paying jobs aren't going to be great.
Quit your bitching and get a better job.

"Coming from an ex employee..."
[–]Steph0906 2 points3 points4 points 2 months ago

[–]dirtydmix 0 points1 point2 points 2 months ago
I know, it's just funny to see people that are surprised a low paying job would suck.
And good for u getting the hell out of there.
[–]Steph0906 0 points1 point2 points 2 months ago
Well the job itself wasn't all that bad, we cooked everything in a little oven and then cut it and stood there until another order came thru, not bad for a job. The part that bugged me was when the company wanted our store to make 12,000 a week and the best our store could do on a good week was maybe 7,000 and WE, the employees, get blamed for it, really irkes me.
So many times I wanted to write a letter to someone explaining to them that if you stop being retards and maybe try and make a profit then just maybe we could meet your numbers.
And can someone please for the love of food, please tell Mr Papa john that cooking wings in an oven is gross and unless he wants to be known as the place that bakes his wings, he needs to invest in a deep fryer.
