Batman would shoot a grapple gun or something to make a better exit, perhaps dropping smoke bombs in the process.

[–]ErikNavkire 57 points58 points ago

Regardless, Batman is far cooler than Superman anyway

[–]MightyMorph 22 points23 points ago

and he even beat superman once. Proving he is the superior being.

[–]ryansc07 26 points27 points ago

Batman has defeated the entire Justice League at times. In the game of super hero chess, Batman is the absolute master. He will be plotting move 7 while Superman and Wonder Woman are jerkin it on move 1. Edit: This is why in the comic books and cartoons the Joker is such an iconic a formidable villain. How do you defeat Batman, you form a better plan than him. The Joker did this and made Batman fear him above anyone else.

[–]MightyMorph 28 points29 points ago

The reason i love the joker as a villain is two fold, one he is crazy awesome. He has no greed no ambition no specific cause to fight for , its not about pride or honor. Its simply about chaos.

Second, he is the antithesis of Batman, while batman relies on plans maneuvers and thinking in the way of play a game of chess. Joker comes in and just flips the board over and wants to rely on complete chaos to determine everything. There is little chance of predicting his moves and this is one of the reasons why batman sees him as his greatest opponent.

In a way they are yin and yang, two people from the different side of the coin, yet have a sense of familiarity with each other. While the batman tries to deny the similarity, Joker wants batman to admit to him being as insane as he is.

overall they are by faar the favorite matchup i have ever seen.

[–]JakalDX 1 point2 points ago

I don't know that the Joker is necessarily chaos. I've always thought he has a very specific plan, he's just so insane that nobody understands it but him.

[–]MightyMorph 2 points3 points ago

No the joker has plans but the plans are usually to create chaos. As i said before he is the antithesis of Batman, the opposite of order and justice.

If you look at every other villain in gotham, they have certain goals like money power fame and such, Joker has no need for any of that. He doesn't care about that. He truly wants to bring everybody down to a level of complete anarchy and destruction. he wants people to be on a level the same as him, to why he wants this that is unknown from what i know. Maybe to justify his own psychological state and choices, but he wants everyone to see that if they are stripped of the rules and laws around them, that if they are left to fend for themselves and in the dark, they will turn to the chaotic ways, they would be willing to kill to steal that no fame no power no money would help them.

I think what bothers him the most is that people pretend to be who they are not. Maybe thats why he is so strangely attracted to batman, maybe joker perceives him to be a person who pretends to be the hero but is actually the villain. that the joker knows if batman steps over that one line, that one choice, than he has crossed into his own world, that batman has no choice but to accept that he is the same as the joker.

[–]ryansc07 0 points1 point ago

I totally agree except while the Joker does create chaos, it is still organized chaos in my opinion.

[–]2pxl 1 point2 points ago

My problem with the whole idea that The Joker is plain chaos is that in Nolan's movies he seems to plan things extremely hard. Is it different in the comics/other movies?

[–]MightyMorph 0 points1 point ago

In the movie, to me it seems he makes plans yes, but rather leaves the end up to the people of Gotham themselves, he wanted to prove to batman that when push comes to shove, in the end everybody will become the selfish person willing to harm the others to protect themselves. That his means of justice and structure was just an illusion when in reality chaos is controlling everything. That no matter what choice is made there would be no right choice.

I don't think they are too faar apart from the comic version and the movie version. From what i know and have read, Joker always has plans but his plans revolve around breaking everything down, no matter what or who, he wants everything to be ruled by chaos. His plans aren't always fully thought out, they are just gist of things at best, but it seems to me that his ultimate goals is to make everyone realize that they are on the equal playing field, that money fame power royalty pride and such has no means and matters, in the end that everyone will be at their selfish matters, at their capacity to kill if needed to break and to burn things down.

The thing about chaos is that even if we call it chaos there is in a way a form of order in it, which is weird i know. But its the truth.

[–]BootGuyJoe 0 points1 point ago

I see how you could come to this conclusion, but he's really not about chaos. Joker's plans don't always intend to cause society to fall into disorder - the only comic I can think of where that happened was the Killing Joke, which of course was the main source of inspiration of TDK Joker. If there's one word that describes him, it would be selfishness. The only person Joker cares about is himself, and every single decision he's ever made was about nothing more than amusing himself. What makes him so dangerous (and why you may interpret him as chaotic) is that you never know WHAT will amuse him on this particular day, so his motivation is never the same, which makes him very unpredictable. This is actually acknowleged by Batman all the time, ("Joker's plans are only understood by himself alone"), by Dick Grayson, ("It's ME. I've had you figured since I was twelve."), and even outright by Damian ("You aren't chaos. You plan everything."). I paraphrased, but you get the point.

[–]monovar -2 points-1 points ago

You've spelt "far" as "faar" twice now and I have to ask, do you think its spelt that way?

If it's a case of ESL then I understand but otherwise it's very strange.

[–]MightyMorph -1 points0 points ago

no its the extended version of far, as in a way of speaking it out loud and expressing that the meaning is more "greater".

also WHO GIVES A FUCK!?!?!

ffs grammar nazis.

[–]bogartingboggart 7 points8 points ago

Or at times, make absolutely no plan, while leading Batman to believe there is a plan

[–]aDarkerKnight 0 points1 point ago

Batman has defeated the entire Justice League at times.

This time, for instance, though unintentionally http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2027128/

[–]Thatguywithashirt 1 point2 points ago

Supetman's biggest mistake: Giving Batman a kryptonite bullet.

[–]Dick_GraysENT 1 point2 points ago

Batman, no doubt, already had kryptonite. Superman's biggest mistake would be giving Batman a reason to use it.

[–]johnnygat2000 0 points1 point ago

More than once

[–]ParttimeReaper 1 point2 points ago

He is der ubermench.

[–]MightyMorph 1 point2 points ago

JA VOL!

[–]Team_Khalifa -1 points0 points ago

How?!? Did he throw money at him?

[–]bogartingboggart 2 points3 points ago

Superman would have glanced away for a split second, during which Batman would have disappeared and made it back to the cave

[–]kenmcfa 2 points3 points ago

[–]DoxBox 1 point2 points ago

[–]Gallifrasian 1 point2 points ago

BOTH. Do both. And then, about 10 and a half hours later, when no one is around, and you're just sitting on top of the stone gargoyle in the dark all by yourself, shout in a whisper; "...nananananananAnAnANANANANANANANANANNANAANANANANANAAAA... Batmaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn...."

[–]NervousSpermWhale 8 points9 points ago

Spoiler: Both of their parents are dead.

[–]Jasonic05 4 points5 points ago

And he is still cooler than superman...

[–]chuiu 6 points7 points ago

This is your typical batman/superman meetup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F90nxOlsm1s

[–]MisterPrime -1 points0 points ago

That was awesome.

This must happen some time after that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seBpXt8_6xs

[–]Theultimateturtle 8 points9 points ago

I wish I had batman's super powers. Too much money is a power right?

[–]palebluedot0418 1 point2 points ago

And he doesn't even use that power right! No repulsor beams, no rocket launchers, no power armor, just the mentally challenged friend that all the supervillans agrees not to tackle too hard when they play together so he can feel special too.

[–]teslacoilwhalesperm 2 points3 points ago

catwoman pussy is waaaaay better than louis lane reporter pussy

[–]malenkylizards 1 point2 points ago

This is Louis. This is also Louis. So is this. This, however, is Lois. See the difference?

[–]_I_AM_BATMAN_ 3 points4 points ago

Boo.

[–]silent_p 1 point2 points ago

That's the whole thing with Batman, though. The way he leaves is mysterious. When you're not expecting it, you look away for a second, then you look back and he's gone. Either that or he speeds away in some kind of vehicle. I guess the cool thing about Batman's exits is that he surprises you.

[–]thegrassqueen 0 points1 point ago

It's Captain Marvel!

[–]Cintdrix 0 points1 point ago

Batman would just jump into his Lamborghini and drive away.

[–]MisterPrime -1 points0 points ago

Have you guys seen these? It's how The Dark Knight should have ended: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seBpXt8_6xs

[–]ubsr1024 0 points1 point ago

More like, "I love you Adam West"

[–]occamsshavingkit 0 points1 point ago

What's a superman to someone who can build kryptonite. When you can make god bleed, people will cease to believe in him.

[–]ibigfy 0 points1 point ago

Superman can just hurl the moon at batman from millions of miles away not being affected what so ever by the kryptonite.

[–]occamsshavingkit 0 points1 point ago

He should have done that in The Dark Knight Returns, saved himself the embarrassment. The Earth then having no moon would severely impact the it's oceans and axis, thus affecting humanity adversely, which would be a no-no for Supes....

[–]palebluedot0418 0 points1 point ago

Yep the one time Bats legitimately beat Supes. And all it took was him being softened up by a nuke, a kryptonite arrow fired by someone else, and Supes still trying to be gentle with his friend. A friend who then dumps the entire power grid of Gotham into him. That's what it takes for Batman to win, not Judo and whispering I'm Batman all spooky like. Batman's a great vigilante, and great in his own stories. Why try to put him on par with folks who outclass him?

[–]occamsshavingkit 0 points1 point ago

Because he's got the mental horse power to always level the playing field. He also didn't cop out and work for Luthor, like Supes. That's like Batman saying, "Oh, I'll just sit back and let an arch rival run the country. That's who he was really fighting, the government, who wanted Batman to die or disappear, and the master tactician decided to let his friend be the one who does him in, counting on Supe's better angels, tricking the world into thinking Batman was dead, in order for him to proceed to his real objective. It was Superman for breakfast, Luthor for desert, he didn't even have to lay a finger on him in the end.

[–]nottimminchin 1 point2 points ago

Reminds me of Freakazoid's "flying."

[–]Zagarth 0 points1 point ago

The only man who was trusted with a way to kill Super Man.

[–]ChernobylKrigare -1 points0 points ago

Aw... that's adorable and very, very sad.

[–]Rinnyroo -1 points0 points ago

I legitimately can't stop laughing at this

[–]grannysquirt 0 points1 point ago

My new desktop, thanks lol

[–]AuthorWithheld 0 points1 point ago

What about your new desktop?

[–]grannysquirt -1 points0 points ago

My new desktop.

~Grannysquirt

That is all

[–]bunjog 1 point2 points ago

Unfortunately you need a verb for it to be a sentence. How about:

My new desktop grannysquirts.

~Grannysquirt
