When you put on a uniform, that uniform contains within itself a history of hierarchy.

We assign that to it, it does not contain it. You should not fetishize objects.

When you have a monopoly on force, that is immoral and unethical.

Law enforcement officers don't. In America there are self-defense laws, mutual combat laws in some states, private security firms, and the police are government officials employed by a democratic republic. The authorization of force that is granted to the police is done so on the authority of the citizenry. This argument should be reserve for dictatorships.

If you threaten me with your weapon, and I shoot you with my own weapon, I will be executed or imprisoned, whereas if I threaten you with my weapon, and you shoot me with yours, you will likely receive no punishment whatsoever.

All uses of force are reviewed and all uses of lethal force are reviewed by the state's bureau of investigation, an entirely separate law enforcement agency, while the officer involved is taken off duty. You're really misrepresenting with this sweeping generalization.

Everyone in the country is part of the system which it forms by virtue of its structure as a democratic republic. No man made system will be perfect but to then say that means no one should participate in any system is an over-correction.

The part that makes you sick is that I've done nice things or that I was wearing the wrong clothes? I also supported my local Occupy protest through donations, as I had to work. You seem to have the idea that if an individual disagrees with any number of law a government generates that they must reject the entirety of that government. That is an extremist position.

I feel sorry for you because you don't understand the repercussions of your actions. As you sit here defending yourself and your system, people of color are being oppressed everywhere.

There are police organizations that oppose the illegalization of marijuana (one major cause of the over-representation of racial minorities in the incarcerated population), the unequal sentencing surrounding cocaine, and even the poverty that allows a lot of crime to exist. These are all legislative problems, not law enforcement problems.

Protests are prevented and protesters are arrested, tear-gassed, beaten. Brutality is reported everyday, and fuck your minimalist statistics.

This is correct, hyperbolically. It should not happen and, when it does, represents police officers acting outside the scope of their authority. No one's saying officers who do this should go unpunished.

Ideally the number would be zero and that should be the goal but we should accept we'll never reach it. If you're saying an imperfect system is a worthless system than we are incapable of creating anything of value.

I don't care that the narrative of nonviolent protesters is to try to hold me down and say "don't talk to that cop like that, he's one of the good guys." You are complicit in injustice and you deserve to be held accountable. You are on the wrong side of history, fascist.

Being unable to personally stop all injustice is not complacency, it's simply being human. When it happens around me, I act. I've opened myself up to your judgement as to if I'm one of the "good guys" or not. Will you do the same and tell me what you've done to better the world?
