ya know I've heard a lot of good things about Seattle as well

[–]forhammer 21 points22 points ago

yeah, i'm a little confused why everyone is saying "yay ref 64" or "omg colorado did it!" when washington did too. we just want a little credit.

[–]Rummy-O 4 points5 points ago

Yeah, but you can't grow without a license in Washington. (According to the huffington post)

[–]forhammer 7 points8 points ago

that's true. but either way, we made a huge step forward towards progress.

I want to hug Washington

As a californian, i am embarrassed that washington beat us to it.

As a Canadian I am totally distraught right now.

[–]metalhead4 2 points3 points ago

I ain't even mad. It's a huuuge step for Canada too since we're neighbours and I wouldn't be surprised if the whole country had legal weed before the whole US did.

[–]ughnewname 3 points4 points ago

Yes, please, everyone recognize that Washington ALSO legalized. Please consider moving there instead.

It's a completely different climate and environment over there though. You have two good options but each has downsides. Washington gets far too much rain for me.

As a Canadient I would definitely want to go to Colorado over Washington. I would probably live near a mountain so I could get baked and snowboard every day.

the cascades, man.

[–]metalhead4 1 point2 points ago

Like the guy above me said, rain. I fucking hate rain hence why I wouldn't move out to BC from Ontario anyways. I like snow.

[–]forhammer 1 point2 points ago

that's why the east base of the cascades is where it's at. just out of the rain shadow but still gets dumped on with a lot of snow in the winter.

depending on where you live.

I have been planning on this for a while now.

To my future neighbors. For those of you worried about getting a bunch of undesirable types because of legalization, I will try to be a good citizen of the state.

There are many great reasons for me to move to CO and this just cemented it.

[–]landofpoz 4 points5 points ago

why not seattle? you can still smoke weed when its raining.

Not according wikipedia.

While the legislation failed to reach the Assembly floor, Ammiano stated his plans to reintroduce the bill later in the year, depending on the success of Proposition 19, the Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act, which appeared on the November 2010 ballot.[1] However, the proposition lost 46% to 54%. [2]

On another hand:

On September 30th, 2010, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed into law CA State Senate Bill 1449, effectively reducing the charge of possession of up to one ounce of cannabis from a misdemeanor to a infraction, similar to a traffic violation, with a $100 fine and no mandatory court appearance or criminal record.[3] The law became effective January 1, 2011.

You know Nintendo of America Headquarters is located in Washington. Reggie seems like a cool guy.
