when he doesn't feel threatened (which is pretty much always) he'll usually toy with his opponents for a few minutes before laying an unholy smack down upon them.

Muhammad Ali was called unsportsman like for dodging like that.

[–]squeaker 6 points7 points ago

Really? Why?

[–]findingchemo 8 points9 points ago

Racism

[–]zeutheir 3 points4 points ago

He was also called "The Greatest."

[–]BlueWolf07 1 point2 points ago

Wait he was really dodging it was so fast its hard to tell

[–]deadmanRise 1 point2 points ago

That was amazing. As an MMA fanatic who missed the golden age of boxing, who and when was this?

[–]2yrnx1lc2zkp77kp 0 points1 point ago

Muhammad Ali, no idea what the date is off the top of my head

[–]phreeck 0 points1 point ago

He was still making contact, Anderson did it better.

[–]MizerokRominus 0 points1 point ago

Reserving energy > What Anderson did

[–]Msj2705 0 points1 point ago

Especially since the contact in this gif wouldn't be too hard as the guy's arm only extended another inch or so after hitting.

[–]ManWhoStaresAtCats 18 points19 points ago

yep thats anderson silva. The only MMA fighter that landed 100% of his attacks in a match. He is a true martial artist that stands out from the rest of the "street brawler" type fighters.

[–]Tapeworms 3 points4 points ago

I'm pretty sure I've seen MMA fighters who knock out a fighter with one hit, right off the bat. They too landed 100% of their attacks.

[–]feckyooworld 4 points5 points ago

"The rest"? Clearly you know little about MMA.

[–]enjoytheshow 22 points23 points ago

Seriously does he even lift?

[–]The_Only_Alex 6 points7 points ago

You just got to appreciate what an athlete he really is and how great of a fighter he has become.

[–]kingjonny 3 points4 points ago

my favorite MMA fighter Anderson Sliva

[–]Actimium 3 points4 points ago

Would anyone know the video?

[–]B_Wildman 8 points9 points ago

silva vs, forrest ufc 101 http://telly.com/D5B61

[–]Actimium 1 point2 points ago

Thank You.

[–]shortbuswizard 0 points1 point ago

I have never seen a fight like that in my life. Silva barely defended himself because there was no need. Dodged nearly every punch and perfectly placed powerful yet speedy hits.

[–]hawksdiesel 5 points6 points ago

anderson silva ??

[–]cheesedick25 1 point2 points ago

I believe so

[–]XFiveOne 0 points1 point ago

Yup. Real life Neo. That guy is crazy quick!

[–]Asiansensationz 1 point2 points ago

Now hit me... if you can..

[–]themycenaean 2 points3 points ago

Stop trying to hit me and hit me.

[–]GatorDontPlayThatSht 0 points1 point ago

The MOST dynamic fighter in the history of fighting.

[–]manfromfuture 1 point2 points ago

The guy he is fighting was at one time the light heavyweight champ, so not exactly a tomato can.

[–]Msj2705 0 points1 point ago

Of course he's not a tomato can.

You kick those...

[–]pjhollow 1 point2 points ago

Roy Jones Jr. hands behind back

[–]jjml123 0 points1 point ago

Seems like after the third dodge the other guy realizes he's in over his head and just dives to the ground cowering in fear

[–]compromisinglie 0 points1 point ago

is the white dude taking a dive there at the end just to avoid the onslaught that silva ramped up into?

[–]gizmola 0 points1 point ago

It was the 3rd time he got cracked and knocked down so not as much taking a dive as just giving up.

[–]2yrnx1lc2zkp77kp 0 points1 point ago

"taking a dive" means little in mma compared to boxing. When you're cowering on the ground you're infinitely more vulnerable than if you're standing there blocking. Groundfighting and kicking encouraged, remember that.

[–]mrpopenfresh 1 point2 points ago

To be fair, Forrest Griffin is a very underwhelming striker.

[–]squeaker 0 points1 point ago

I had a martial arts instructor who did that to us. I'd throw a punch or kick, and he would move just barely out of range so I hit nothing but air--usually missing by only an inch. It was simultaneously annoying and extremely impressive.

[–]Raven_Rise 0 points1 point ago

Anderson Silva is a master airbender.

[–]AVerbalAffair 0 points1 point ago

Never seen The Matrix.. But I damn sure know who Anderson Silva is

[–]LvPollar 0 points1 point ago

I like how he begins to dodge before he throws his punches.

[–]TheBeatCollector 0 points1 point ago

Pootie Tang?

[–]DrDWayneLove 0 points1 point ago

No, actually.

[–]monawoka -2 points-1 points ago

He dodges punches better than Romney dodges questions.
