I've passed in front of this place, you've got a ferry full of people/tourist passing in front of it 10 times a day. Not really privacy.

Also, this a hunter's lodge, not really a house, most probably to hunt puffins.

Those birds are so fucking cute. Hw do you even kill them, let alone eat them?

[–]Gordondel 0 points1 point ago

Well I read it was an old hunting practice and many people eat them because it tastes good and there isn't that many food sources in the area (somehting along those lines).

Anyway I already cannot eat a cow or a chicken so no, I didn't try!

I'd hate to have to mow the lawn there

[–]boveah 10 points11 points ago

Oh god I didn't even think about that

[–]enzo32ferrari 0 points1 point ago

just pay someone to do it.

[–]Goranora 3 points4 points ago

Well it looks like the owner only mows a small square around the house itself.

[–]chemistry_teacher 2 points3 points ago

Sheep for the rest.

Or maybe rabbits.

Hamsters? Yeah, hamsters.

[–]bikiniduck 11 points12 points ago

You should see the base built into the rock below it. The house is just a front.

[–]Paulie_Walnuts23 3 points4 points ago

[–]mwlkr 3 points4 points ago

I just popped a boner.

[–]Debellatio 3 points4 points ago

anyone know where this is?

[–]Dyrantua 5 points6 points ago

This island is called Bjarnarey Elliðaey (Thanks subbi) and is part of Vestmannaeyjar (Westman Islands) in Iceland. It's a beautiful place.

[–]subbi 3 points4 points ago

[–]the_pawl 2 points3 points ago

It says that is a hunting lodge. What the hell do you hunt out there?

[–]KFJ943 4 points5 points ago

Puffin. I frequent the island (Tons of family from the Westman Islands, pretty much go once or twice a year) and we almost always have puffin. It's awesome!

[–]the_pawl 0 points1 point ago

How much does it cost to stay there?

[–]chairtard 1 point2 points ago

looks like you are one island off.... from googlemaps appears GP is correct.

[–]Dyrantua 2 points3 points ago

Actually, it turns out subbi was right. Bjarnarey does not have the 'bowl' form that Elliðaey has.

[–]Dyrantua 1 point2 points ago

Whoops, you're right!

[–]Tyboss18 4 points5 points ago

I'd walk around naked 24/7 in summer

[–]writesomethingwitty 3 points4 points ago

What privacy? Someone just took a picture of your house and published it on one of the most visited websites on the Interfuckingnet. /s

[–]Bruneti12 3 points4 points ago

Maybe too much of it :(

[–]BloodyHalo 5 points6 points ago

No such thing.

[–]Balloons_lol 1 point2 points ago

How would you get your food, water, electricity, and companionship?

[–]BloodyHalo 2 points3 points ago

This doesn't need to be my only home, just my sanctuary. As for the necessities, I'll figure that out when the time comes.

[–]uhicanexplain 2 points3 points ago

Bjork's house.

[–]DavidNatan 1 point2 points ago

Well she turned it down, Iceland's government wanted to give it to her for free.

[–]maraedits 0 points1 point ago

How does a piece of land like this come to be?

[–]Slims 2 points3 points ago

Glaciers and shit.

[–]Ugotowned441 1 point2 points ago

Its all great until you need milk

[–]KFJ943 1 point2 points ago

This island is just one of many, though - You just have to climb down a ladder, get on a boat (The locals often use RIB boats to get to and from the island, although most kinds of boat work.)

The main Island is called Heimaey and about 4000 people live there. It's home to Iceland's largest outdoor festival, and for one month, the town goes from a reasonably quiet 4000 to 25,000 people.

Just take your private helicopter to the grocery store.

[–]jelloisalive 0 points1 point ago

Can you imagine lugging groceries up to the house?? What if in the dead of night your rice crackers fall from your recyclable bag and roll down the hill?? noooo!

[–]b_masterfleX 0 points1 point ago

i would climb to the top of that big hill in the back and roll down it like a kid at least once a day.
