Good lord, I can't believe I know exactly which episode of BTAS that was from.

Not as good as the bad jokes in "Almost Got 'im", though:

TWO-FACE: Poison Ivy.
IVY: It's been a long time, Harvey. You're still looking half-way decent.
TWO-FACE: Half of me wants to strangle ya.
IVY: And what does the other half want?
TWO-FACE: To hit ya with a truck.
IVY: We used to date.
JOKER & PENGUIN: Ahh.

I have to say, I don't think Penguin would ever associate with the likes of the others. He's one of Batman's few sane enemies.

In the Animated series universe, he runs a nightclub that caters to most of Gotham's underground, so it works in that context. And, really, aside from the Joker, most of the villains in BTAS-verse are sort of sane, to the extent that their motivations make some sort of logical sense. They're just a little obsessed and really, really dedicated to their fixations.

Actually. No, they're not sane. But they're not unpredictable. Let's say that.

the joker was predictable. he isn't chaos incarnate like TDK tries to paint him.

He has a very strong personality and it isn't complete wacko. he has his own rules.

for example, the fact he never just shoots batman with a gun. he sets up an elaborate situation that always allows for intervention.

it wasn't about just killing people, its about doing it his way. his own crazy world.

But most of Batman's enemies are sane in their own sort of ways. They have their goals and go about them in a more or less logical manner. The fact that their goals and aspirations tend to run counter to our normative assumptions does not make them in the least "insane".

The seasons are pretty cheap on Amazon. Also there was a kind of sequel to Batman: TAS you may remember called Batman Beyond. Batman Beyond was really good too even though the new Batman was more of a Spiderman than original Batman.
