Yeah, after a few incidences I am no longer allowed to give directions. I tend to not know the names of roads or highways. As I am usually the passenger, I look around and see landmarks, but I am terrible at describing it all. Friends and family know to ask my husband or use a GPS as I have gotten several people lost. My husband once missed the Mass Turnpike by 50 exits and we ended up by Gillet Stadium instead of in Hartford, CT, but he is still better at directions then me...I worry our daughter will have zero sense of direction.

I was walking around my schools campus and some people stopped me and asked when the alumni Center was. I told them it was fifteen minutes away. In reality once I really thought about it I realised if I turned 90 degrees I could see it.

Same spot someone asked me where the hospital was and if I turned 90 degrees to the right I could see the top of the building.

People asking me questions that I'm not expecting flusters me.

When I was 14 someone stopped randomly on the street and asked me how to get to some place I'd never heard of. So, I spent the next two minutes giving them directions that I had no idea where they went. I knew a few streets but then just started rambling. To make them really fucked up I started saying things like, "You'll be on this road for a long time. Look for the dominos on the left."

I just realized that this will rarely be something that happens for my children's generation. Most people have GPS built into their phones now.
