The vashta nerada would make sense initially because they're creatures that hide in the dark and their effects were portrayed like this, so I could see the confusion.

However, the figures here don't quite look like the suits of the archeological team that fell victim to the vashta nerada. They look like traditional astronaut suits, which would refer to the actual astronaut suit that The Silence (of which is the face depicted here) used for..... well.... spoilers.

So I totally get the confusion because the vashta nerada suits look like astronaut suits, but The Silence are actually tied to the traditional astronaut suit depicted here.
