To get hooked, watch "Blink" (Season 3 Episode 10 of 2005 series). Then go back to Season 1 Episode 1 of the 2005 series ("Rose" aired on Mar. 26, 2005 -- available on Netflix in US).

Hmm...there's a phenomenon for DW watchers. Apparently the first doctor you watch tends to become your favorite doctor. So much power in my hands....how shall I mold you?

A serious doctor would be the first doctor of the reboot, find an episode called "Rose"; I didn't like this doctor very much, but a few people really like him.

The 10th doctor is a lot of people's favorites and several people argue that he's the best doctor. A good episode, imo, to introduce you to the series would be "The Christmas Invasion."

If you want to see a quirky doctor who's about having fun I recommend starting with an episode called "The Eleventh Hour." This is the 11th doctor and the one who got me into Doctor Who.

Those are the first episodes you see each form of the Doctor, and they come at the end of a story and the beginning of a new one so there's not much being spoiled during those episodes (nothing is being spoiled in Rose, the first episode of the reboot). The Eleventh Hour was the first episode I watched and I loved the whole quirkiness of the episode and I recommend it, though others might disagree with me.

Hopefully this helps, it's really a great show and I've had friends get so wrapped up into discovering it that they disappeared for weeks while they watched all of the episodes.

Pretty sure House is the best doctor of all. I've seen like 2+ episodes of Dr. Who, and he literally has performed medical services for 0 people. House saves someone's life in like 85% of episodes.

    First episode of the reboot. It's called Rose and aired in 2005. Those few first episodes aren't the best visually, but that's becuase they had a smaller budget in that first season. The visuals get much better after that first season.
