I know lots of smart extraverts, but even the smartest still (imnsho) talk more than they think.

And I am extremely chatty, myself, and not by introvert standards. But I'm an introverted feeling type.

Honestly this has little to do with introvertism. Introversion doesn't mean quiet or shy, it means if you're in a social situation, afterwards you feel drained. It has little to do with how much you think and how much you say. And like extraneouspanthers said pretty much everyone is like this, introvert or extrovert.

I beg to differ.

Yes, introversion/extroversion has to do with your energy in social situations - but it's not the only indicator. Another of the indications of introversion/extroversion involves the location of your processing: i.e., an introvert is more likely to process internally, an extrovert is more likely to process externally.

In a study group one can easily spot the introverts and the extroverts. Extroverts tend to think out aloud, and discuss their train of thought with the others. Introverts sits quietly and thinks.

Typically, extroverts tend to get irritated because they feel that introverts don't contribute, and introverts get irritated because they feel they get interrupted.
