I doubt Madea hotline over here is Indian.

[–]Kon-chezz 5 points6 points ago

You mean there's hotlines not in India?

[–]grrrwoofwoof 8 points9 points ago

Every one who replied to this comment is Indian. Aajjibai would be happy to see these comments.

[–]amuseddouche 5 points6 points ago

BALL DO NA! Sorry every time I yelled auntie at a random person is because someone kicked the football over the fence.

[–]MikeHazeGaming 3 points4 points ago

"Come with me if you want to live."

[–]springboks 3 points4 points ago

That'd make a great shaadi.com profile pic.

[–]KingoftheAnimus 2 points3 points ago

WE ARE UNITED.

[–]gimli666 202 points203 points ago

good shop, but someone forgot about cleaning this

[–]gill2003 63 points64 points ago

Ha, I didn't even notice the red circle you drew to point out the defect. I stared for a couple of minutes wondering what the heck you were talking about!

[–]scrumbly 8 points9 points ago

I'm still staring. Care to explain?

[–]chibi_isa 44 points45 points ago

The motorcycle's rear tire has a different background than the rest of the picture.

[–]Jschatt 3 points4 points ago

You guys are fucking detectives

[–]A_Little_Rapey 4 points5 points ago

Yea took me a second to realize that wasnt wheel tape

[–]LOOSEBOOTY 0 points1 point ago

Yeah it got me too. Reminds me of the games where you're shown two pics and have to find the differences.

[–]kash_if 82 points83 points ago

Yes, it is Photoshopped. Also notice the missing motion blur, especially in the spokes.

[–]Answer_the_Call 61 points62 points ago

Dammit, I so wanted this to be real!

[–]labrys 30 points31 points ago

they might not be on harleys, but i promise you there are grannies zooming around on motorbikes in india.

[–]arsonall 9 points10 points ago

with their grandchildren holding onto a basket of groceries.

[–]gowahoo 1 point2 points ago

i think we are going to need pics here.

[–]asisingh 21 points22 points ago

This is totally related and not shopped -> Meanwhile in Nepal

[–]XCygon 15 points16 points ago

I know right, Why Can't we have good things?

[–]bucky420 3 points4 points ago

it doesn't necessarily mean that she wasn't riding another type of motorcycle.

[–]colandme 4 points5 points ago

Also that model of motorcycle is pretty rare in India.

[–]PSDCovers 12 points13 points ago

Lots of compression artifacts around the head where the designer tried to blend the comps. However, overall this is a pretty good shop compared to most. The spokes were a dead givaway tho.

[–]ginjal 4 points5 points ago

It is possible that a high shutter speed was used while panning. That would add motion blur to background objects while keeping the bike in clear focus and freezing the motion of the wheels and spokes. It is definitely shopped, but I'm just saying...

[–]derbeaner 12 points13 points ago

For like 5 minutes, I thought your red circle was part of the tire.

[–]kryptonik_ 5 points6 points ago

It's also pretty obvious it's a shop, because that is a really small bike. So she would have to be a REALLY small human to look like that on it.

[–]TheBanthaRay 10 points11 points ago

Have you been to India? People tend to be pretty small in stature there.

[–]kryptonik_ 10 points11 points ago

http://blog.motorcycle.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/harley-fourty-eight.png

That is the same bike.

I understand that Indians may be small in stature, but the seat height on the 48 is 26 inches. Her legs may not even touch the ground if she puts them down.

It could just be me, but I think the proportions are way off.

[–]BeerPowered 6 points7 points ago

Riding bike of this size feels like riding a pig. Fun.

[–]halakukhan 4 points5 points ago

Thanks for the generalisation I'm 6feet 2.5inches from Haryana and most of my relatives are quite tall

[–]thorrior 5 points6 points ago

To be fair you do see a lot of Indian women driving motorcycles around. They might not be this nice, but most people do drive bikes.

Source: Been to India

[–]flosofl 4 points5 points ago

There also a problem with the shadows and a reflection in the oil tank.

Here

[–]youcuntingfaggot -1 points0 points ago

cleaning what?

[–]c1namber 1 point2 points ago

Good spot, I totally missed that

[–]I_AM_TEH_HIVEMIND 0 points1 point ago

Glad to hear it.

[–]Atropa-Inoxia 0 points1 point ago

This particular photo may be shopped, but I can verify this is actually a pretty common sight, all over India. A lot of the times the women will be doubled up, with the passenger sitting side-saddle.

[–]tiger_without_teeth 57 points58 points ago

Fuck with this lady and you'll be sari.

[–]squonge 4 points5 points ago

She's a hindipendent woman.

[–]sid1618 2 points3 points ago

slow clap

[–]onion_cutting_champ 83 points84 points ago

Look at those arms, she probably wields the Mjolnir of wooden spoons.

[–]bastian1343 14 points15 points ago

You just killed a part of me.

[–]onion_cutting_champ 5 points6 points ago

Painful memories eh? Either the mad dash to the toilet to lock the door, or those tense stand offs as you circled each other around the dining table.

Good times.

[–]bastian1343 2 points3 points ago

wat

[–]onion_cutting_champ 3 points4 points ago

Oh I thought we were joking about how asian parents tend to smack their children a lot, especially with wooden spoons.

[–]wtfmanquestionmark 58 points59 points ago

I used to work with about 50 or 60 people from India and this little quite lady named Raj was getting ready to head out back to India and we asked what she does for fun. She basically explained that the exchange rate is so good that a few thousand in US dollars is so much Indian money that most people come to America for a few years and save up, then go on vacation back to India and party for a few months.

Coolest mother fuckers ever. Nice people.

[–]bluesjammer 34 points35 points ago

Indian here. I can confirm. Currently, it's about 50 rupees for a dollar. It's better in the middle east! Something like a 140 rupees for a Rial (Oman). They are like kings and queens when they are back home.

[–]wtfmanquestionmark 13 points14 points ago

To put that into context what does a really nice hotel and a nights worth of drinking cost in rupees?

[–]IvanLyon 20 points21 points ago

I was in India for seven months, I never used a nice hotel but i'd get a litre bottle of Old Monk rum for about £1.50, and a room on the beach for about £1.00; that could be even cheaper. I had friends living on £40 a month. This was five years ago, probably a bit more expensive now.

[–]justanotherguyd 13 points14 points ago

As an Indian I can confirm this is possible and it is around the median range of rate of hotels.

[–]snailwithmonocle 7 points8 points ago

BRB, becoming a king in India.

[–]learn_after_reading 8 points9 points ago

Ahhhhhh... Old Monk.

[–]b0mbay 4 points5 points ago

[–]InAnIndianAccent 5 points6 points ago

Goa.

[–]JesusVonChrist 4 points5 points ago

Been In Mumbai few times, few years ago, It was hard to find decent hotel below US$200 per night.

Oh, I almost forgot Old Monk existed, very decent rum.

[–]Kerala_Guy 4 points5 points ago

If u are drinking and eating at nice places in mumbai(Town Side) it will cost you Rs 1000 and more per person. While other cites its very much less around 500 to 600 or less.

[–]hapuchu 2 points3 points ago

In McDonald economics, the cheapest burger available in India is 25 rs. Which is around 50 US cents.

[–]evilkenevil 7 points8 points ago

I heard the same thing about 20 years ago. I had just bought a new car for $30k and paid cash and my father in law who traveled extensively in India told me that I could go to India and live like a king with a full waitstaff and never have to take on any work. I asked him for how long and he simply replied: "forever".

His daughter wasn't up for it.

Edit: forgot a word.

[–]isplicer 6 points7 points ago

Indian here (living in Australia for most of my life). I an also confirm, one AUD buys 55 INR, and it buys you a LOT of quality food and an insane amount of manpower/service for you there.

Also, the food is delicious and ridiculously cheap in AUD rates. Make sure you eat at well-known local places where the average middle class Indian would eat. Absolutely DELICIOUS, and the best place on Earth to relax and party. If you have money.

It's a completely different story if you don't have money.

[–]wtfmanquestionmark 10 points11 points ago

I am of the belief that Indian food is the best food on earth.

[–]grrrwoofwoof 2 points3 points ago

Relevant : see my list of Indian food items to try http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/10ssgn/z/c6gi3vx

[–]Korbyzzle 2 points3 points ago

Similar thing happens in Canada. Except it is young men that come over here and work as much as they can for two years and survive on the minimal in Canada and send the rest back home for their family. Then they come home and one of their brothers switches with them and works for two years.

[–]Storming 179 points180 points ago

what the fuck did you do, Storming??

who upvoted this and why are shitty posts taking over the front page?

[–]VickyLowe 3 points4 points ago

Seriously, what is special with this? It's a person on a motorcycle. Do people think it's something special because it's a woman in India (or shopped to look like it)? They have motorized vehicles in exotic places too, you know. Jeebus christ.

[–]tinkthank 2 points3 points ago

Its not common to see this in India.

[–]Uberhatkat 4 points5 points ago

Looks exactly like a slightly browner version of Harley riders here in the U.S., including the exposed folds of flapping suet.

[–]scigs6 2 points3 points ago

She has "bdmthrfckr" as her license plate

[–]frater_mavros 2 points3 points ago

I think you mean badmadarchod.

Surprised no one's said this yet.

[–]coilla 2 points3 points ago

That is so badass

[–]Nakadai 2 points3 points ago

Like a BOSS !!!!!

[–]mrmcweird -1 points0 points ago

I'm not 100% sure, but isn't it illegal to have this big of a bike there? Also, pretty good photoshop.

[–]tst69 3 points4 points ago

no, lol. Nothing concerning driving is illegal there.

[–]boysrus 2 points3 points ago

Photoshooped, yes. But also other critical flaws in the picture. The bike obviously seems to be Harley, which are not cheap in India - upwards of 30,000 USD or so. And the lady's humble attire(imitation jewelry - not too much gold in her ornaments) and flip flops indicate that it would be unlikely that she would have time to enjoy a harley ride, rather than work real hard for a real pittance to feed herself and family. There are some very rare bike riders (most women drive little scooters or cars if they can afford), and they look like very westernized - helmet wearing, jeans and boots type of women. And a younger demographic.

[–]cathyblues 5 points6 points ago

I think she is rocking that bike pretty good

[–]Contrapaul 3 points4 points ago

I think photoshop is rocking pretty hard.

[–]ravibkjoshi 2 points3 points ago

Not uncommon if you've ever been.

[–]I_Curse 11 points12 points ago

The only uncommon part is that there aren't four other people riding it as well.

[–]pregnantjesus 5 points6 points ago

and it's above 100cc

[–]supaphly42 0 points1 point ago

fourty

FTFY.

"I'm going to haul ass to lollapalooza!"

[–]ChubbyDane 4 points5 points ago

That's a pretty Sikh ride she's got there...

[–]whytcolr 3 points4 points ago

Flip-Flops? No helmet? Seems dangerous.

Then again, with the traffic in India's urban centers, she might not ever make it above 10mph...

[–][deleted] 21 points22 points ago

Seems dangerous.

In India you don't drive according to a set of rules, you drive by instinct, and how well you anticipate what crazy stunt the guy driving next to you will attempt. As a corollary, every Indian is a stunt driver. So yeah, no flip-flops and helmets.

Source: I'm Indian. Also regular day's traffic.

[–]Rafi89 4 points5 points ago

As a corollary, every Indian is a stunt driver.

I can confirm. My uncle-in-law was a taxi driver in India who moved to the US 20 years (or so) ago. When he was driving us around in Maryland I pretended to fall asleep in the car so that I could keep my eyes closed because I think I would have jumped from the car otherwise.

[–]bluesjammer 9 points10 points ago

Indian here. And yes, usually no helmet. You will be surprised what speeds the kids make on those roads. I come across some /r/wtf worthy accidents once in a while.

[–]acog 2 points3 points ago

[–]Guysmiley777 2 points3 points ago

Then again, it's a photoshop.

[–]Highly_RelevEnt 2 points3 points ago

Definitely was not expecting that! Anything, but that!

[–]DocObvious 0 points1 point ago

Shouldn't wear sandals on a motorcycle. Should wear eye protection.

[–]inthebreeze711 1 point2 points ago

Pretty cool, altho the tires look stand still as ever while everyone elses car looks like it's actually moving

[–]Allenzilla 1 point2 points ago

[–]charmedbeast 1 point2 points ago

That's some bad ass woman right there.

[–]HakuTheGrey 1 point2 points ago

[–]mooose 1 point2 points ago

I realize it's not real, but...

The first thing I noticed were the flip-flops.

At least it's not one of the goons that ride around in sandals, no shirt and a full-face helmet.

Cool BI

[–]AllHailLordMegatron 0 points1 point ago

Photoshopped or not, Ive seen plenty of old indian women on motorcycles crusing down freeways and cities. Motorcycles are jsut a cheap form of transit and dont really have that macho man culture based around them like here in north america. Everyone has a motor ycle there

[–]laiyibeipijiu 1 point2 points ago

I don't get it. Even if it isn't photoshopped, what's the big deal?

[–]RPGsisfun 0 points1 point ago

The thing that gets me is not the photoshopping, or the aunty with a saree on a bike... It's the look on her face which is one of "Oh Good God! My stupid nephew who told me I could take his ride and its a motorbike... God Dammit" Any auntie would be proud of riding this.
