This photo was on the first article on they NYT website this morning, there was one posted of this same bridge on Jalopnik.com that was taken several hours earlier when it was dark and only the Blue hyundai was there, it is very near to their studio, it is not BS.

Actually the vast majority of New York City is not low-lying, which is why so few people actually lost power and/or had to be evacuated, despite this being the largest storm surge in the city's recorded history, and far more people lost power out on Long Island and further inland.
