        Canadian here, so bear with me, and perhaps you'll laugh.

        For the longest time I always figured Norfolk was just a term for "Northern Folk" and Suffolk was for "Southern Folk" so that Suffolk might refer to the Brighton area and Norfolk might refer to like Manchester or something... But for whatever reason, after reading this, I decided that perhaps its time I actually looked it up.

        Now I realize that you were actually telling a joke, and I feel quite sheepish. I wonder what other geographical gaffes I'm making...

        Technically, Norfolk and Suffolk do refer to regions in England that are North and South of each other, like Essex and Wessex and Sussex are East and West and South. We just stole the names from the Brits. Might as well get SOMETHING out of our tax money, eh?

        Edit for fun fact: the "folk" is actually pronounced "fuck." This can lead to amusing situations when we try to correct people who pronounce "Norfolk" wrong.

        Just got back from London, stayed in a part of the city with the Southwark Bridge, the Southwark region you could say. Everyone says it like "Suthuck" - so we tourists sound silly saying it like its spelt: South and Wark...

        And then the Scotts! Edinburgh? The Americans Pronounce it Ed-in-Berg, the English Pronounce it "Ed-In-Borrow" and the Scotts Pronounce it "Ed-in-bra"

        I gave up trying to figure that all out. Not worth the effort.

        It's always confusing to be somewhere with a 'borrowed' English name, but a different pronunciation - There's a town in Australia called Exmouth, but our one is called Ex-muth.

        Americans can be illogical in their pronunciation, too. In Pittsburgh there's a street that's called "AL-lies Boulevard" or "Boulevard of the al-LIES." The pronunciation of "Allies" depends on where you put the "Boulevard."

                  While tragic, this wasn't a big storm by relation to what hits Hampton Roads frequently. The major damage caused by Sandy was caused by hitting areas that aren't frequently hit by hurricanes, and so aren't built to be hit by hurricanes.

                  Long story short, a category 1 storm doesn't really scare these folks, and they'll be out there hamming it up.

                  They're doing it wrong (though I don't know that I could do better in a storm), it's not hopping around it's counting with your feet like this:

                  L,R,LL
                  R,L,RR
                  and repeat

                  (it doesn't matter which foot you start with so long as everyone dancing starts on the same one)
