In terms of events, Switzerland is pretty boring. It is basically impossible to throw a party without getting a noise complaint. The bar scene, even in Zurich, is sort of lackluster. If you want to go to one of the infrequent music/entertainment events you have to shell out as much as 100 francs. Also restaurants are prohibitively expensive for anyone making under 60,000 CHF/year. I love Switzerland. But, it is hella boring here. There are no clubs, events, organizations. Everyone just minds their own business.

I'll grant that there are tons of outdoor activities here, though.

Switzerland has the highest density of festivals. Some weekends you have to choose which suits you better. There are points where Switzerland might be boring or rather stay 'calm', but its not as you say.

What do you mean by festival? Over the summer there were two open-airs worth going to, the Züri Open Air and the St. Gallen Open Air. Right now there are Herbstmessen around most of Switzerland. In about 4 weeks there will be the Christmas fairs, which will have literally the exact same food vendors and rides as the Herbstmessen. They're alright. Glühwein is pretty nice, so is Raclette. These things are more geared for children.

Like I said "worth going to." That list has about 100 entries and most of them are not festivals. I know it sounds like I'm being negative. But, music, sporting events, and nightlife are not Switzerland's strengths. Claiming that it has the "highest density of festivals" is a huge exaggeration.

I think there are basically four major festivals in Switzerland: Frauenfeld (hip hop/reggae), Greenfield (pop rock, punk), Züri (pop, electronic) and St. Gallen (pop, electronic). I stopped listening to all the bands from Greenfield about 12 years ago and I'm not really interested enough in hip hop to go to Frauenfeld. Next year I'll do St. Gallen and Züri and pray to god it doesn't rain.

I dont understand. All of them are festivals where music is being played. I agree when you say its expensive, but there is just SO MUCH music and choice. Im pretty sure there is something for every taste. Just talking of major festival you already missed some of the most important ones: Paléo, Montreux, Gampel, Gurten, Heitere, Blue Balls. Just as an example. And yeah, I can recommend St. Gallen - been there in the past 8 yrs

The owner said the dog was fine, after many animal specialists commenting that when animals do that, there is usually something very wrong with the animals' brain. That looks like a Saanen goat. I have one. We got her because they're supposed to be really sweet. I guess some people consider "dumb as a box of fucking rocks" to be sweet. Never met a dumber goat in my life.

Pretty sure when they disbudded her they kept the iron on too long. She's so dumb she's gotta have brain damage. She walked into one of the chicken pens and couldn't figure out where the door was to get out.

Fun Fact: Goats are too stupid to know they have to back up, so they'll just sit there waiting for something to happen until they die.

Source: My father used to tell me stories of when he worked on a farm hed have to go collect all the goat corpses because they would walk into a corner, not know how to get out, and simply stand there and die.

Look compared to every other European country, we earn a lot. But living is way more expensive than here. But anyway, you won't find such buildings as in the pictures everywhere. And still, having an old house, up in the mountains is very relaxing.
