  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

Someone downvoted you because instead of joining in with the "joke" that depends on outdated (late 80s, early 90s) bigotry that portrayed the AIDs epidemic as caused by and confined to (presumably promiscuous) gay males, you replied with some facts. A lot of reddit thinks that saying something bigoted is okay as long as the person speaking/typing and the people laughing all consider themselves not bigoted, which sort of ignores the fact that hate speech is the same content regardless of intent, and that someone's intent is not easily discernible and so we use language to convey meaning and the meaning behind implying a direct connection between anal sex and the chance of getting AIDs developed from bigotry.

Anal sex in general is considered unsafe due to the potential for tearing of the muscle and sphincter linings. Further, anal sex is also considered a more vulgar form of sex (regardless of sexual preference), and can thus be used as a derogatory term identifying a sexual deviant as opposed to a specific type of sexuality.

Thus while the poster above may have meant it in an anti-LGBT fashion, they may also have meant it in the greater college sense of "you're a sick fuck."

Also known as...learn to take a joke and realize that even the Greeks (a group relatively civil about homosexuality) would've made this kind of crack.
