Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  6. No animated images. Please submit them to /r/gif, /r/gifs, or /r/reactiongifs instead.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

As someone who has been to Disney world numerous times- it is expensive, especially the food. However, that's not an excuse to NOT tip your server. I have also been a server- and I seriously feel that if you can't afford to tip your server then you probably shouldn't be eating out.

No the point is that you live within your means and learn to budget. How about not spending 140$ and maybe scaling that back a bit and use the extra 10 or 15 to leave some kind of tip. And no obviously you shouldn't be giving yourself treats that you can't afford.

Why should she factor his wages into her budget? Maybe she had saved for this. You all have decided that you have to tip, regardless of service, and that not doing so makes you a douche. Do you tip your bus driver, the cashier at the checkout, or other low wage jobs ?? I have waited tables, it's not the harder job I've done that's for sure (warm and not that physical) So occasionally someone doesn't tip - get over it

If she got bad service I highly doubt there would be a complement written on the recipt. And I know when I go out to eat and got the service I was expecting, I tip. Because, you know, that's how it works. All I know is that I would never, EVER go to a restaurant and not tip because "oh I'm a single mom" I would make Damn sure I have the money to tip. And waiters are different from other low wage jobs because in many states (mine included) tips are essentially their whole wage.

I used to wait tables, yes it's hard, yes tips are nice - but fucking getting over yourself and stop being a whiney bitch every time some ones doesn't tip.

You're not automatically due it - it's a tip at the discretion of the customer

You don't deserve 20 bucks on that one table.

You don't deserve 15-20% commission on all food sales.

I've done the job before, it's not hard, and if we got rid of this system, you would be making minimum wage. I'm sure the next big tip made up for it, but you are unskilled labor. 90% of waiters make good money for the job, around 20-25 dollars an hour. Suck it up, he tip system is a lot better than the minimum wage system that would replace it.

Working three tables an hour, each table should tip around 4-5 bucks maximum. I tip based on how much of your time I took, not on how expensive my taste is. You do the same work filling a soda as bringing me my 5 dollar beer. Taking out my 25 dollar steak took the same effort as bringing my girlfriends 8 dollar salad.

He is making a valid point - why should she order pizza so your friend can get a tip? If he doesn't earn enough money then he should speak to his damn employer. She already paid for his damn wages within her food bill, or are you naive enough not to believe all restaurants haven't factored that overhead into their food prices? A tip should be for good service and only if the customer feels like paying it (or can afford it) - I'm guessing with that attitude your over entitled friend gave minimal basic service ..

And the whole messing with someone's food bit - BOOM - you have just showed what a total douche you are. someone was rude to me / can't get my own way...so I'll just spit in their food like a fucking 5 year old having a temper tantrum

Have been a lurker for a year now. This pissed me off so much, I registered. I have been both rich and now INCREDIBLY poor, no matter my financial status, I understand the working class. Sorry, but if you can afford that much on pizza, you can still tip a minimum of 15%. And you make us single moms look like asses, I NEVER go out to eat, take a cab, etc unless I know I can afford to properly tip!
