My sister's friend's dad was a pro kiteboarder. He was doing it during a storm in the gulf (not a hurricane, just a pretty bad storm).. and he died because the wind swept him up and he hit a pole. I wouldn't recommend kiteboarding..

Man I agree that is quite a few notches up. What really boggles my mind is how do you slow down, and if you let go I guess you never get that wind kite back ever?

They are attached to the kite by a belt on their waist. Once you let go it kind of collapses the kite and it falls.

Movement is all based around how you control the kite. The handle actually gives you great control over it.
