Yes... absolutely and totally against politics... I'd describe my position (if I had to use such a crass delineation) as anarchist (or libertarian to americans I guess - though personally with a more leftist bent).

I get where you're coming from, I really do... but just for a minute put yourself in the position I'm in, where I've already decided that none of the good that the military do (and I'm not disputing any of your points by the way) is undone by the bad.. how else is one to interpret things like this?

To me, it's just glorification of a killing machine... I genuinely see the military-industrial complex as the latest manifestation of something which has plagued humanity every since we first invented war.

To quote Jacob Bronowski (From the BBC's The Ascent of Man - seriously WATCH THIS!!!) - cause he put it better than I ever could:

Given that as your starting axiom, what other conclusions are their to draw?

Anyway... posted in a bad mood... probably a bad idea, but I get sick of all the pro-military fawning I see... personally I genuinely believe that if you willingly sign up for this then you're part of it and morally as responsible as the wankers giving the orders.
