There's a Don "Duck" Edwing gag from Mad Magazine in the 80's I had that used this joke. It was a big dumb guy on the subway reading the sign saying "please give this seat to the elderly" so he picks it up and plops it on some old ladies lap. This is around 1987, I think. Might have been on the back cover and might have been one spoofing Aliens. I mostly collected from '86-'90 as a kid.
