The ONLY reason I'm glad that I paid for Apple Care + on my iphone is those blissful, here's a brand new phone, moments when you have totally trashed your phone in a god awful accident. Although, it did cost 100$, and then it cost 50$ when I had to get them to give me a new phone. . . fuck.

I once dropped my phone in the toilet. I had stuck it in my shirt pocket to take a piss. When I leaned over to flush the toilet, it fell out of my pocket and into the toilet. For my job I basically worked from home so I really needed a phone. So I sent an email to the phone people at work telling them what happened. I said that I am sure I am not the first to do this. She replied saying probably not but that I was the first to admit it.

I have Crohns disease - I wont go into details but I was pulling up my pajama pants and my phone came out my pocket into the toilet. I knew what the sounds was- waited a few seconds before looking to confirm. I would have just flushed the phone if I thought it would have gone down.

I put on a surgical glove, grabbed it out and threw it away.

Nailed it... but they usually have damp sensors in the headphone jack, sometimes they turn pink if they get wet or even have been in the bathroom playing music when you have been showering...

I don't even have to bring it in the shower with me, after about a month the censor changes color nomatter what, because of the heat. I live in the Mojave desert, one does not simply not get hot. My friend who works at an AT&T store says they even change before they even sell them, but they're forced to sell them regardless, which basically means the warranty is voided before you purchase it.

I was always very good at spotting those customers.... I would always mute my mic and laugh when I would get someone that thought I would replace there device for free because their home button stopped working after they dropped their phone/got it wet.

Just thought I'd throw it out there, if you open up the battery compartment of most phones, there's a small strip that they use to tell if the phone got wet. It's totally pointless to lie.

However, you can buy those strips online, and technically if you had a dry one in your phone, your warranty wouldn't be voided by the water damage... not that I'm suggesting that or anything. Just remarking.
