Reminds me of Saturn Devouring His Son by Goya.

[–]KineticShampoo 67 points68 points ago

Oh God I'm cracking up at the office and people are giving me look.

I remembered that episode from The Simpsons where Mr. Burns has this painting in his office, only it's of him eating someone else. And Smithers goes, "Boy that was a wild Christmas Party". BWA HAHAHAHA. Oh man, kudos to anyone who provides a YouTube link to that scene.

[–]optimuspyro[!] 68 points69 points ago

[–]Travie6492 8 points9 points ago

Ah, Mythology.

[–]TheSeldomShaken 1 point2 points ago

For a second there I forgot that was an actual word.

[–]Magicmoonlight007 -1 points0 points ago

Wish I watched the Simpsons now:))

[–]esDragon 14 points15 points ago

I love that painting. Really hits you hard ... the look in his eyes is mesmerizing. I did a search for it before coming to the comments, and in the process I ran across this Reubens painint of Saturn. It's not as primal as the Goya painting, but it's related in case anyone is interested. http://cdn.dipity.com/uploads/events/0a6e0178760b1a8d2f1a584371e1d26c_1M.png

[–]om_nom_nom 9 points10 points ago

Goddamn I hate looking at that picture, it creeps me out.

[–]SUPERKAMIGURU 23 points24 points ago

But your name pretty much sums up the picture.

[–]AllwaysConfused 39 points40 points ago

Okay please please please tell me what that is from.

[–]UnsurpassedBlaze 61 points62 points ago

It's from the La LLorona house at Holloween Horror Nights in Hollywood, California.

For the curious.

[–]tripleyeimplants 13 points14 points ago

The best part is 03:44 where the chick is still like "Oh, it was nothing", smiling, just to be disturbed in a second by the screaming outside the actual show. I think they should add something freaking crazy and not-expecting to the exit hall as well.

[–]Bunglenomics 4 points5 points ago

They do sometimes. I've definitely been scared shitless at that event upon exiting a house once or twice haha.

[–]Jamesbob 11 points12 points ago

I went to Halloween Horror Nights this year at Universal Hollywood. It did not disappoint! I usually just go to Knott's Scary farm but man, Universal's mazes were much more terrifying.

[–]ptowner7711 4 points5 points ago

Huh. That's actually some cool dark imagery. Most the haunted houses I've been too are generic and just have people in bad makeup jumping out and saying BOO! My wife still shits her pants, I just laugh. THIS place might actually make me shit a little myself.

[–]MonkeyManJohannon 8 points9 points ago

Halloween Horror Nights are put on by Universal Studios...and the haunted houses are pretty much all higher budget affairs. It costs a pretty penny to go to it, but i have never had as much fun going to a haunted house (or better put, haunted houseS).

If you look closely at the end of that segment, you can actually see that it was built into the Shrek 4D ride.

[–]Bravowhiskey54 8 points9 points ago

Agree'd, I was at the Halloween Horror Night in Orlando's Universal Studios two weeks ago. That Night was pure awesome.

Have to give them props for "The Walking Dead" and "Silent Hill" Houses.

[–]MonkeyManJohannon 2 points3 points ago

We went like 4 years in a row to the Orlando HHN...the first one had a Psycho themed house and a Saw themed house, then one that was a mental ward and they had what looked like feces (including the smell)...and i remember looking at my wife (who was terrified) and going "This is just amazing." I can't wait to go back.

[–]Bravowhiskey54 2 points3 points ago

Dude, I was literally jumping up and down in the Silent Hill house (Note: I don't Jump up and down for ANYTHING) when the first monster came out. I Don't know if it'd be considered spoilers but here it goes. SPOILERS: When we first walked into the set-up, after passing "Welcome to Silent Hill" sign, you can see the first monster behind a highway guardrail approaching you. When it gets close, another actor comes out of hiding (dressed as the cop from the first Silent Hill movie) and begins firing at the monster. SPOILER END.

When that happened, I wasn't expecting it and I thought someone had really brought a weapon into the house itself, I began to look for cover UNTIL I saw the actor with the prop weapon. I looked at my brother who was behind me "Dudeee this is FREAKING AWESOME!" and proceeded to jump.

[–]MonkeyManJohannon 2 points3 points ago

Who's jelly? This guy. Silent Hill is one of my favorite survivor horror game franchises of all time! I can't even imagine.

Did they do a good job on the ash coming out of the air?

[–]Bunglenomics 4 points5 points ago

Yeah. It's raining (fake) ashes all in the entryway of the house next to the "Welcome to Silent Hill" sign and fence and everything.

[–]Bravowhiskey54 4 points5 points ago

Aye. It was very well done I must say. Too bad they didn't allow for pictures inside and the house wasn't on the guided tour I took the next day :(

[–]EM3ERS 1 point2 points ago

The Walking Dead house was insane because of how detailed the whole thing was, with the little girl walking around the entrance, and the hospital door (Don't Open; Dead Inside). Plus it dumps you straight into a fucking zombie horde.

[–]Bravowhiskey54 1 point2 points ago

They had the little girl? I didn't see her near the entrance. Must have missed her since I was among the first few waves. Its okay though - my dad managed to get a picture of me next to the trailer of bodies before staff told him not to do it again. _^ lol

[–]EM3ERS 0 points1 point ago

I was in Orlando, maybe the Hollywood version was different (assuming that's the one you went to).

[–]Bravowhiskey54 0 points1 point ago

Nope, Lol - I was in Orlando too. Friday the 12th.

[–]EM3ERS 0 points1 point ago

Shit, I was there the very next day.

[–]Nokwatkwah 5 points6 points ago

I'll just leave this here and promote for those who might live on the east coast: http://www.scarehouse.com/
Edit: I thought this was a scary house thread not just a Hollywood Haunted House thread? I wanted to give out more options for those of you who cannot make it to the Hollywood/Orlando one. It is not like the Hollywood one is going to lose any sort of business from a Reddit comment.

[–]HalloweenBlues 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, the "La Llorona" maze was excellent this year. It was set inside of a child's nightmare so they went a little more crazy this year. You should also check out "Alice Cooper Goes To Hell." It's a 3D maze, so you wont get the full effect from a video, but it was a mindfuck to go through.

[–]DarlingDont 0 points1 point ago

I also saw something very similar - if not exactly the same - in a haunted house called Rocky Point in SLC, Utah years ago. Rocky Point closed down years ago, so perhaps it's a reused prop?

[–]CeruleanLlama 0 points1 point ago

The actress in the above image is sooo much better than the one in this video O.o

[–]fuckin_usernames 0 points1 point ago

Great idea, but the actress getting "eaten" was pretty laughable.

[–]kuipernova 0 points1 point ago

Looks pretty dumb to me. People pop out of places. Oo0o0o0o..

[–]option_i 0 points1 point ago

Scary!

[–]spankymuffin -4 points-3 points ago

That looks like all kinds of stupid.

[–]Kronos6948 22 points23 points ago

[–]carlospicyweiner123 5 points6 points ago

Weow... Where's this from?

[–]Mecha_Hitler 8 points9 points ago

Nightmare on Elm Street 3

[–]scottagro 6 points7 points ago

Honestly, the best Nightmare movie.

[–]clashmo 4 points5 points ago

read the url for a clue ;)

[–]RebelTactics 0 points1 point ago

Get off my lawn! ::dentures fall out::

[–]pivy89 9 points10 points ago

La Llorona maze lol

[–]DEKK0S 0 points1 point ago

Hollywood Horror Nights! Went in this maze like 2 weeks ago!

[–]Mortifi 0 points1 point ago

That was, by far, the best maze there... except for the stink... it smelled really, really bad.

[–]sekai-31 11 points12 points ago

The fuck is Rasputin doing?

[–]ejanea 10 points11 points ago

Looks like some Aphex Twin video. Come to daddy!

[–]tavernkeeper 8 points9 points ago

This is terrible. Anyone who has ever tried to eat anything whole knows you start at the head.

[–]iShovelPoop 6 points7 points ago

Makes me think of Tonton Macoutes (in Haiti, a macoute is a voudou demon that devours children in their beds at night, they creep in through windows and carry machetes. Duvalier, dictator, had a private police force made up of voudou leaders who wore aviators, military dress, and carried machetes: striking fear in Haitian people as they were called "Uncle Macoute". Responsible for 30,000 civilian deaths) http://www.latinamericanstudies.org/tontons.htm

[–]scottishonion 6 points7 points ago

The anthro nerd in me thanks you for this link.

[–]magnetard 5 points6 points ago

Isn't that what Sinister is about? Pretty sure that's what the one guy was saying.

[–]cowboykillers 5 points6 points ago

It's bagule! I have no idea how to spell it so now he's a breakfast pastry with a hole in the middle

[–]callsign_helo 0 points1 point ago

.... Bagel.

[–]Theolodious 0 points1 point ago

baggle.

[–]Great_Zarquon 0 points1 point ago

(Spoiler) Except Bagul didn't really "eat" the children, he just took them so he could feed off of their soul.

[–]magnetard 1 point2 points ago

This is true. Kinda creepy, how [BIG OL' HONKIN' SPOILER DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU WANT THIS MOVIE SPOILED FOR YOU AND THEN YOU'LL GO TO THE MOVIE THEATER TO WATCH IT AND YOU'LL HATE IT BECAUSE YOU'LL ALREADY KNOW WHAT THE HELL'S GOIN' ON AND THEN YOU'LL GO KILL A HOOKER OR SOMETHING] he gets the kids to kill their families so he can take them away.

[–]Zeugirdor994 18 points19 points ago

[–]RatBattle 3 points4 points ago

Babu Yaga?

[–]bordermarkedmistakes 0 points1 point ago

It's close, it's actually La Llorona.

[–]MrBombastic4life 1 point2 points ago

nom nom nom nom nom

[–]Offensive_Brute 5 points6 points ago

Kinda reminds me of Sting when he played the monster in Sinister.

[–]kdokk 2 points3 points ago

This is exactly why you keep your legs and feet covered with your blanket at night...

[–]esDragon 2 points3 points ago

When I was a kid I developed a(n imaginary) system (obviously) whereby there were alligators under my bed, but they were quasi-friendly ones and they would attack monsters that tried to approach from my closet. But I had to (pretend to) feed them every night or they would come after me too. It was a good system -- I still had to leap into bed, and I couldn't dangle a leg over the side, but at least I could leave a foot uncovered without fear of reprisal. (I still fall asleep with the lights on and have to keep every closet door shut. I'm 39.)

[–]ziggytherage 6 points7 points ago

Pretty sure this is a photoshopped porn picture.

[–]DarlingDont 2 points3 points ago

Nope. It's from a haunted house.

[–]DaveMcElfatrick 0 points1 point ago

Hahaha, hey Jennie. I too enjoyed this image in r/creepy.

[–]DarlingDont 0 points1 point ago

Dave! I have a list of awesome new subreddits I've found that I think you'll love... I need to send them to you.

[–]DoorLord 2 points3 points ago

Yeah that chick looks like she is really enjoying something.

[–]IAMYOURHUSBAND 2 points3 points ago

That's it. Feet stays in the blanket AT ALL TIMES while I'm sleeping.

[–]Vee_Vee 1 point2 points ago

r/childfree's mascot.

[–]Jota769 2 points3 points ago

anything that eats you from the feet up, instead of going for the throat first, is terrifying and unnatural

[–]Killzonintaing 1 point2 points ago

Nope.

[–]captainfluffybunny 2 points3 points ago

"Honey, I carved you a new headboard for your big boy bed, you are going to love it!"

[–]RiceMunk 2 points3 points ago

Don't have your feet under your blanket when you sleep?

This is what happens.

[–]quoth_the_phoenix 2 points3 points ago

This is exactly the sort of thing I want to keep seeing on r/creepy

[–]MatBrooks 2 points3 points ago

This girl looks likeEva Angelina!

[–]Joshiebear 0 points1 point ago

Eating children appears to be such a chore.

[–]Swimming_robot_500 1 point2 points ago

Looks more like its throwing her up.

[–]justinisntfunny 1 point2 points ago

Was gonna say that. "More like Hot Bitch Vomiter"

[–]kryptick 1 point2 points ago

Bad ass. I haven't seen a lot of creepy that really made me creeped out, but this one takes the cake.

[–]SonOfABiscuitMuncher 1 point2 points ago

So people actually took A Modest Proposal seriously?

[–]elonc -1 points0 points ago

muslim foot fetish anyone?

[–]obscure_renegade 0 points1 point ago

Yikes.

[–]bmoviescreamqueen 1 point2 points ago

BAGUL, that's impolite.

[–]parkertonsloanworth 1 point2 points ago

Dude this basically sums up sinister.... Don't watch that movie stoned...

[–]finyacluck 1 point2 points ago

The kid is laughing, this photo obviously simply captured a happy moment between her and her ugly, single, loving aunt.

[–]moukou9 1 point2 points ago

That's what I thought.

[–]TyrantRC 0 points1 point ago

you got this from my creepy post on /b/ some hours ago don't you?

[–]Ace1999 0 points1 point ago

"Fake. I can see the pixels from here." - Dwight

[–]DarlingDont 0 points1 point ago

If I'm not mistaken, this is from a haunted house called Rocky Point that used to be in Salt Lake City, Utah. I went to it years ago... but I could be mixing it up with another one because I've been to tons of them. I remember this distinctly because it was terrifying in real life. Haha.

Edit: Someone says it's from a haunted house in California... So perhaps I'm wrong, or it's a reused prop or something. I don't know.

[–]Asshole_Patrol 0 points1 point ago

I work at the Queen Mary's Halloween event, and I get pretty jealous of some of the fancy sets Universal has. They blow Knotts out of the water.

[–]st_calliope 0 points1 point ago

Somehow the kid looks like she's sorta having fun? Her expression is like 'xD'.

[–]aaronify 1 point2 points ago

Just saw this at Universal Studios last weekend. This is from the La Llorna Halloween maze.

[–]Smellyerlater 0 points1 point ago

Looks like something Chris Cunningham directed.

[–]Jbomb44 0 points1 point ago

I keep waiting for the eyes to move... shivers

[–]ganjover 1 point2 points ago

This is from Universal Halloween Horror Nights 2011. One of the haunted houses about a Mexican tale called: La Llorana.

[–]Epiphany214 0 points1 point ago

Nightmares...

[–]battleblades 1 point2 points ago

That's hot

[–]deannabanana26 0 points1 point ago

And this is what I shall use to make sure my kids do their chores and behave

[–]super_mum 1 point2 points ago

Clicked link without viewing thumbnail. Bricks everywhere...

[–]DrXenu 0 points1 point ago

more like "beware this shitty photoshop"

[–]elizabeth_marie 0 points1 point ago

Is it the Bagul from Sinister?

[–]DMarqG24 -2 points-1 points ago

; crappy photoshop skills.

[–]thescrapplekid -3 points-2 points ago

You need to blur it a bit, the pixels let you know its shopped

[–]RebelTactics -2 points-1 points ago

I really wish photoshop to scare the shit out of me when I was a kid. Sigh...
