You can see the sweat form a ghostly face as it gets knocked off him, sweet.

[–]nogginrocket 58 points59 points ago

He wasn't hitting him. He was helping him dry his face. They're friends...see?

[–]bilbonaggins88 27 points28 points ago

Yeah he was all like "fuck you skull, no longer will you stop my friends brain-spirit from transcending it's corporeal form with your intransmutable cage of bone and muscle. Soon he will finally become one with the ethereal trans-form of the multiverse and become a space entity of 4½ dimensions just like what his momma always wanted him to do. This one's for you bro, come sail away. Come sail away..."

Then WHAM! Broke the front of his skull away from the back thus freeing his consciousness to set off on its esoteric journey of discovery and adventure.

He chocked down the tears over losing his friend but took solace in the great adventure he had helped him embark upon. Come sail away indeed.

[–]SirAuron 2 points3 points ago

Well, I am pretty sure whatever you are on could have done the same thing for him as well.

[–]service_plumber 2 points3 points ago

Also helping him take a nap because that had to knock him out

[–]Edgar4llanPwn 3 points4 points ago

At Least a concussion

[–]Drink_Clorox_and_Die -2 points-1 points ago

The only thing I see is this being posted with different titles everyday for the next week. Brace yourselves....

[–]spongemonster 18 points19 points ago

That's not sweat, that's his soul leaving his body......

[–]JewCurls 0 points1 point ago

Exactly what I first saw, too.

[–]Vermilllion 0 points1 point ago

Who needs towels when you can have your sweat punched off?

[–]Hopeful_Swine 0 points1 point ago

He's gone plaid.

[–]thecross -2 points-1 points ago

It may be, but it also may be a result of the motion prediction component of the signal processing algorithm applied to the information representing original scene at some point between the camera and when the gif was created. Seems like it is seeing high motion and using that luminance information to trigger some kind of decaying transient visual artifact.

[–]borick 0 points1 point ago

are you trying to say it could be compression artifacts? don't think so, but interesting idea.

[–]nerfcaltrops 48 points49 points ago

There go all those piano lessons.

[–]PixelizedApe 62 points63 points ago

That cannot be good for your brain...

[–]Karlemil 26 points27 points ago

It isn't. A lot of professional boxers get Parkinsons after retiring because of the stress put on the brain.

[–]dihydrogen_monoxide 39 points40 points ago

*Parkinson's like symptoms.

It's diagnosed as Dementia pugilistica, AKA Punch Drunk Syndrome.

[–]Karlemil 14 points15 points ago

Interesting, I actually thought it was Parkinson's! Thanks for clarifying :)

[–]pullarius1 1 point2 points ago

According to wiki, the collection of familiar symptoms is called "parkinsonism." When the set of symptoms does not have a clear cause (eg repeated brain trauma due to bokxng), it is called "Parkingson's disease"

[–]BigHarold 7 points8 points ago

They've also found this with ex-footballers in England. They did a study on players who used to play professionally, I think, and about 30 years after playing, they were developing Parkinsons-like symptoms from heading the ball.

This is why I use my shoulder. People think I'm trying to be tricky, but fuck getting head trauma.

[–]doodoo_brown -5 points-4 points ago

haha you said but fuck

[–]hyp3r 3 points4 points ago

Very observant of you. You win a prize. Now bend over...

[–]lemuelf 54 points55 points ago

Nonito Donaire vs Fernando Montiel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chxmYF4m2xg#t=89s

[–]alcimedes 15 points16 points ago

So when he went down, and his legs/arms were convulsing, did the ref. not see that?

Wouldn't that lead to a fight stoppage? (i'm glad the ref stopped it almost immediately after restarting, but that looked very dangerous)

[–]Clavis_Apocalypticae 22 points23 points ago

That is the Fencing Response. The fight should have been called if it was not.

EDIT: To include relevant link.

[–]KimBongILL 9 points10 points ago

That ref is notorious for his bad judgement.

[–]amtran 1 point2 points ago

Clearly, it's an idiotic call to not end the fight when he's starting to convulse. Add to the fact he didn't seem to have the presence of mind to even raise his fists when he was back on his feet, it should have been very obvious the fight was over.

A ref that bad should not have a job. That's a call anyone should be able to make.

[–]KimBongILL 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, and he's corrupt as shit. Watch the Mares - Agbeko 1 fight, where he'll allow lowblows like crazy.

[–]Kerpail -1 points0 points ago

He wasn't convulsing, he was k.o'd and was still trying to fight. Notice his arms punching the air as if he was still fighting.

[–]IsThatTheJoke 115 points116 points ago

Medic: "How many fingers am I holding up?" Boxer: "Purple" Medic: "He's good"

[–]conman08 31 points32 points ago

Reminds me of a story when my dad boxed at the Y.

His friend was fighting and he got knocked down pretty hard. The ref takes the fighter to the corner with his trainer and starts testing his cohesiveness. He asks, "what's 3 plus 3?" and the boxer replied "4". The ref starts saying to the trainer that he's going to have to TKO him, then the trainer exclaims "Oh come on! He was only 1 off!"

The ref looked at him a while, then to the boxer, and lets him fight.

[–]thedbp -3 points-2 points ago

my only regret is that I have nothing but one upvote to give.

[–]MrHenodist 2 points3 points ago

Boxer: "How am I doing doc???" Trainer: "Well.. If you go out this round and kill the guy, we'll earn a tie"

[–]pilvy 42 points43 points ago

His scalp arrives at the destination after his face.

[–]Azurity 10 points11 points ago

Another reminder that my face is just a skull with a not-particularly-adhered layer of skin on top.

[–]localhobo 12 points13 points ago

I have a headache now.

[–]greath 8 points9 points ago

I like the part where you can see his skull move before the rest of his face.

[–]braomius 13 points14 points ago

WHERES YOOOO HEAD ATTTTT

[–]MrTurkle 0 points1 point ago

In this case it is about 4" ahead of his face.

[–]DNoo 8 points9 points ago

Why isn't the top comment telling me what fight this is from?

Or any of the others.

[–]pacman404 5 points6 points ago

"Because you didnt ask" would be the most logical and intelligent explanation.

[–]KimBongILL 9 points10 points ago

Nonito Donaire - Fernando Montiel.

[–]SloppyJoMo 2 points3 points ago

Because crappy jokes.

[–]Naked-In-Cornfield -5 points-4 points ago

Why is he being downvoted for asking a damn question!?

[–]Sterlingz 7 points8 points ago

Because if we upvote him too much, the top comment WON'T be what fight this is from. I had to downvote in order to preserve the balance.

[–]mindtapped 2 points3 points ago

His skull was almost knocked out of his face!

[–]ProfessorCaptain 4 points5 points ago

Damn, checkout that sweat silhouette

[–]sfled 0 points1 point ago

I think that may have been his spirit leaving...

[–]SwiftJudgement 3 points4 points ago

[–]tyaptyap -1 points0 points ago

Dig the lag spike. Can't believe the ref let him continue after that...

[–]Not_A_Hipster_ 0 points1 point ago

I can hear his brain slapping against the inside of his skull.

[–]chingyduster 1 point2 points ago

You can see the exact moment he turns into a vegetable.

Edgar, your skin is hanging off your bones.

[–]elligre 0 points1 point ago

You know it's a hard hit when the rest of your face has to catch up to your skull.

[–]Ollieboots 0 points1 point ago

This brain damages the human.

[–]Jerks_took_my_name -1 points0 points ago

I think VTEC just kicked in, yo.

[–]jolly_juice_drinker -1 points0 points ago
