Running off into the infirmary on his own though... he's getting a little ahead of himself. His time will come to be truly independent and capable but he's still not mature enough to understand many things.

I can see why Lori was upset at him for going, its dangerous and if one of those walkers got him she would be devastated. I think its good that he is taking some initiative though because he needs to start learning to be independent and toughen up a bit. Its an apocalyptic situation, theres simply no time for him to wait a few more years to finish going through puberty before its just okay to let him help out like that. The sooner he toughens up and learns how to navigate the world around him in a safe manner, the better.

The point still stands, they didn't need 5 people standing over a comatose body. Especially not when some of them coughLoricough have kids coughCarlcough who have run off many times before. Did she really think that after him running off countless times, this would be the one time he stayed put? After learning how to use a gun, being mad at her, and showing that he wants to prove his worth to the group? That's stupid.
