This just reminds me of a trip I took:

I went to Norman, Ok for a Halloween party. I was bringing my college friends, and was meeting up with my high school friends. Shit was great. We were staying in some dorms on campus and the party was at a house about a mile away. So, all of us were at the party it was around midnight or so and a buddy of mine and i were puking on the back fence (kind of a tradition at that time of my life). I'm dressed as Harvey Birdman (I even made my own costume that year), and my buddy was dressed as Waldo. He's way too drunk and starts freaking out about being drunk so he decides to walk back to the dorms and crash.

Fast forward to about 3 a.m. All my friends and I were shitfaced walking back to the dorms, and when we got there we were unable to locate my drunk buddy. So, my girlfriend, myself, and another girl decide to look for him outside since he didn't have a key to the dorm room. We couldn't find him. All our friends had split up and started looking for him in small groups, and the three of us decided to stupidly jump in my car and drive around the University of Oklahoma campus looking for waldo.

About 15 minutes into our drive, I suddenly started to get this fear that my buddy was arrested. But, nonetheless we continued our search. We were in a parking lot cruising around when suddenly, out of nowhere, a wild campus police cruiser appears. I get the bright idea, to stop and ask the officers a few questions. It went something like this (bear in mind, i am still driving, drunk and dressed as Harvey Birdman):

Me: "Excuse me officers, I must ask you a rather strange question." Driver: "Ok. What you got?" Me: "Well, this is rather odd, but have you seen Waldo? My friends..." Officers: (start chuckling) Me: "...and I went to an off campus party, and my buddy who is dressed as Waldo, decided to come back to the dorms alone. He is very drunk. Have you seen any drunk waldos stumbling around or passed out somewhere?" Driver: "No, I haven't found Waldo tonight, but we will certainly keep an eye out for him." me: "Could you check to see if he has been arrested?" Driver: "Nope, we cannot do that, it's against the law, unless you are family." Me: "Aww, ok. well thank for the help, have a safe night."

Then, my girlfriend got a phone call saying that our buddy was back in the dorm's common room. He had been locked out of the dorm, and just crashed on the common room couch.

Thank god I wasn't arrested.

tl;dr: Got wasted as Harvey Birdman, drove around and looked for my 'lost' friend who was dressed as Waldo. Spoke to police and asked them "This might seem odd, but where's Waldo? We are looking for Waldo, have y'all found him?
