Hello, butthurt poster!

/r/atheism is not actually the 'atheism' tab of reddit, but a community of atheists which organized on reddit. Yes, there is a difference.

Take /r/gaymers for instance. It is a community of gay people who play video games. Not every post is about rubbing dicks while playing Mario; they just post things which the demographic (gay gamers) tend to enjoy.

/r/atheism is full of posts that 20-something atheists tend to enjoy. It's not a religious debate forum, it's not the /r/pics of godlessness, it's a community.

If you could kindly stop circlejerking about how you can read a subreddit title (while ignoring the context of said title), that would be fantastic. Thanks!

For me, atheism means I do not accept the existence of things for which there is no scientific evidence. It is an acceptance of scientific facts, absorbed by myself into my worldview, possibly changing that world view if the facts presented deem it necessary. It means research. It means striving for equality and making good life choices because that is the right thing to do, not out of fear of being deemed unworthy of a deity.

  • According to Webster's dictionary Atheism is 1.the doctrine or belief that there is no God. or 2.disbelief in the existence of a supreme being or beings.
  • In addition, though Biology has yet to discover the existence of god it has also shown that god is not necessary to create life.
  • According to Occam's razor, since god is not necessary he does not exist.
  • Therefore conclusion is correct.
