I have to wonder how it decides to stop the water, IE is it tied to the speed of the swing or when it changes directions? Or is there a timer that records the length of each swing?

maybe it works like a fountain and the water is recycled from the bottom and then back to the top - the bottom of it does look kind of like that's what's going on.
