[–]lkrudwig 148 points149 points ago

Well, that didn't work out...I guess I'll go jump over a lazy dog.

[–]Lupevs 28 points29 points ago

Sorry, I'm piggybacking on the top comment for this:

That is my hand in this gif and that fox is Swiper. I've posted this here a few times.

If anybody wants more cute videos or his backstory, you can find them on www.mypetfox.com

Glad you like my gif, OP.

Edit: spelling~

[–]toddy65 3 points4 points ago

That fox is absolutely adorable.

You are quite lucky.

Love your website.

[–]FrisianDude 3 points4 points ago

Ahem, cough cough.

/me takes deep breath.

Swiper, no swiping!

[–]Lupevs 2 points3 points ago

[–]the_zorn_ultimatum 7 points8 points ago

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog?

[–]Not_Jack_Nicholson 4 points5 points ago

Thank you. I was too embarrassed to ask for an explanation because everyone else seemed to get it...

[–]Antimattre 3 points4 points ago

It took me a while to figure out it what it was a reference to...

[–]fuzzysarge 117 points118 points ago

Is that the hand that feeds it?

[–]greathornedowl 33 points34 points ago

I am just positive that is a fox.

[–]Thimee 10 points11 points ago

[–]Tex86 5 points6 points ago

you, sir or ma'am, have lead me on a two hour domesticated fox adventure. i feel my life slipping slowly away, one video at a time...

[–]theproblemofthepast 2 points3 points ago

I regret nothing.

[–]greathornedowl 2 points3 points ago

I work at a wildlife sanctuary and I have been attacked by a fox. It doesn't go like that. It goes from play to stitches in seconds. But that is one damn cute fox!

[–]Rum_Pirate_SC 1 point2 points ago

Following the link in the description, it looks like the Russians have geneticly found a way to domesticate foxes for people to adopt.

[–]SnowGN 1 point2 points ago

The cuteness dial has been cranked to 11.

[–]notreefitty 5 points6 points ago

Read this in Trent Reznor's voice.

[–]NekkidSnaku -1 points0 points ago

Likewise.

[–]kennerly 1 point2 points ago

Looks like a silver fox, the pelt is worth about $300 on the open market right now.

[–]theproblemofthepast 3 points4 points ago

It's a cross-fox. The result of a orange-colored Red Fox and a silver-colored Red Fox mating. It occurs naturally in the wild, but also in deliberate pairings on fur farms.

[–]simon_C 3 points4 points ago

[–]kennerly 0 points1 point ago

hmmm much cheaper than a silverfox pelt, probably $50 wholesale.

[–]McSmo 144 points145 points ago

I love his face after he comes to the realization.

[–]lily1346 47 points48 points ago

And then he's like ".....OK, I'm out..."

[–]megatricinerator 4 points5 points ago

it's more like an "Oh, SHIT!

[–]Annarr 27 points28 points ago

To me it was more like a warning. "That's what's gonna happen if you don't watch yoself, nigga"

[–]snowlion13 1 point2 points ago

really hes just confused, hes a wild animal in a domestic situation, the wiggling fingers probibly triggers a prey response and he darted over but knew right away it wasnt prey it was only impulse, so he mouthed the hand out of frustration, then stood confused of it all

[–]Lupevs 3 points4 points ago

Sorry, that's just not right at all.

Swiper is a genetically domesticated fox. He has never lived in the wild. I was tapping on the wall to get his attention.

Furthermore, he stopped mouthing my hand and turned his head because I told him: "No biting."

He was merely obeying a command from his handler. (:

Those were some cool assumptions, though. Thanks for the laugh.

[–]snowlion13 -2 points-1 points ago

thats funny i work with foxes at a animal santuary and i can absolutely guarantee you that just because a fox is bred in captivity does not mean it it domesticated, no matter how many generations, unless its specifically the one type of fox from the russian guy but as of 1998 there were only 100 foxes in exsistance, so i doubt you have one. its sad that you think this misconception that you have a domestic animal and its sad for him moreso

[–]Lupevs 1 point2 points ago

www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVoQJsh60_Y

Yeah man. It's obviously downright tragic.

[–]snowlion13 -1 points0 points ago

what does this prove exactly? they train lions in the circus to ride on the backs of elephants that doesnt mean anything

[–]MifuneKinski 0 points1 point ago

I've been duped!"

[–]rotato 0 points1 point ago

Oh wait... it's attached to a human! Better leave now

[–]muggleborn1 360 points361 points ago

whenever I see each nail painted a different colour I think of Dexter season 1.

[–]Kelaos 19 points20 points ago

Whoa that was all the way back in season one? Speaking of Dexter, I need to go watch it!

[–]eviscerator 2 points3 points ago

Indeed it was. I've only recently started watching the series so it's still fresh in my memory.

[–]Kelaos 0 points1 point ago

Huh, for some reason it felt like it was season 2 or 3, oh well. Still a great season!

[–]eviscerator 1 point2 points ago

Normally it takes a couple of episodes for me to grow into a series, but I was glued to the screen almost instantly with this one :) Looking forward to seeing the rest.

[–]fish_to_the_top 0 points1 point ago

I just recently watched them all also. Took me a week or so constant watching. It's awesome.

[–]Kelaos 1 point2 points ago

It's great! I'm also terrified of a minor character from another tv show since they show up as a villain one season haha

[–]JonnyRichter 0 points1 point ago

Ice-truck killer. First season.

[–]upgrayedd69 4 points5 points ago

You watch tonight's episode? So far, this season has been leaps and bounds better than the last one

[–]muggleborn1 0 points1 point ago

I completely agree! I haven't seen last nights yet. But last season I was so close to giving up on it. Glad I didn't.

[–]danrennt98 7 points8 points ago

Deb?

[–]jayjacks 57 points58 points ago

No, Doakes.

[–]titsmeow 84 points85 points ago

[–]ChiefNugs 19 points20 points ago

Good thing you censored "fuck" or you would have offended my sensibilities.

[–]alistairtenpennyson 19 points20 points ago

I want this in gif form.

[–]HashBR 8 points9 points ago

I found a video, now we need to make it a gif.

Surprise M...

Well, we have a video already. need just the gif now.

[–]tokeable 3 points4 points ago

add another layer to the gif with text and 1 with confetti

[–]Decalis 2 points3 points ago

I'm sure glad I can't tell what that word is. I suspect it may be profane.

[–]TheKelvis 0 points1 point ago

ICE TRUCK KILLER!

[–]princesspentagon 0 points1 point ago

This is exactly what I thought as soon as I watched the gif

[–]Lamcia 0 points1 point ago

DeeDee?

[–]ComicDebris 57 points58 points ago

I don't think he's saying, "Oh yeah, don't eat the human."
I think it's "Oh crap, the human's getting this on video!"

[–]Team_Khalifa 25 points26 points ago

"This better not end on up the internet!"

[–]golfswingviewer 1 point2 points ago

Caught red handed!

[–]Lampmonster1 28 points29 points ago

That's more or less how my dog shows affection.

[–]MTknowsit 14 points15 points ago

It's called "mouthing" and it is play/affection but not always great

[–]estanmilko 8 points9 points ago

Wolves will show you they can be trusted by holding your throat in their jaws and not tearing it out.

[–]Nabonidus3 10 points11 points ago

That doesn't sound like a trust test I'd like to partake in.

[–]estanmilko 4 points5 points ago

I agree, I saw it on a documentary about a guy who basically lives with wolves in a zoo/sanctuary. He was introducing his fiancée to the pack and she had to go through this.

[–]nod23 -1 points0 points ago

That and licking your mouth and front teeth:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hdUCzbCuYk

[–]Aegior 0 points1 point ago

Now I want to befriend a wolf...

[–]nod23 1 point2 points ago

Wolves lick the inside of your mouth to show/check that you can be trusted...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hdUCzbCuYk

[–]dnew 9 points10 points ago

That's more or less how my dog says "time to play!"

[–]The_Painted_Man 9 points10 points ago

It's more or less how my wife tells me to take the bins out.

[–]golantrevize 2 points3 points ago

Yeah it's quite common for dogs to show affection this way, my spoodle used to sit there with my arm in his mouth while he sat on my lap.

[–]itsthenewdan 14 points15 points ago

Looks like it's a domesticated silver fox - here's a really interesting clip about how they bred the aggressiveness out of them over several generations, simultaneously bred super-aggressive foxes, and then compared the genetic differences.

[–]chronicallysexy72 0 points1 point ago

It's not just the breeding, look at the cages and how they're treated in comparison. Also, has everyone just decided to disregard inbreeding when talking about this study? Does the woman doing it not understand that concept, that that causes bad shit?

[–]stb14808 70 points71 points ago

"Take your hand off my wall or I'll bite you! I'll do it, I swear! I'll..."

arghargharghargh.......

stare

"You suck. You know that?"

[–]DeexEnigma 151 points152 points ago

What breed is that dog? Looks like a damn racoon.

[–]IVIOOBS 456 points457 points ago

I thought it was a fox.

[–]xoyie 235 points236 points ago

Yup it's a fox.

[–]Humble_Link_Guy 54 points55 points ago

[–]Delror 71 points72 points ago

Agreeed.

Edit: I apologize for not putting the picture in a sentence like the person I replied to. I'm not very internet savvy.

Edit 2: It worked!

[–]Buhdahl 63 points64 points ago

[–]grayfox6644 2 points3 points ago

Nope wrong person

[–]ZacUAX 10 points11 points ago

Go download the Reddit Enhancement Suite if you haven't already. Then just highlight what you want to be your linked words and click Link above the comment box. Viola!

[–]lily1346 31 points32 points ago

[–]Delror 7 points8 points ago

Seriously? I already have RES and I had no idea. Thanks man!

Type the sentence you want seen in brackets, followed by the url in parentheses. In the lower right of the message box you can click "formatting help" for information such as this.

[–]grayfox6644 0 points1 point ago

still getting it wrong

[–]Oxyuscan 20 points21 points ago

Or it might be a domesticated silver fox, which can have the same personalities as dogs

[–]mackinoncougars 0 points1 point ago

Silver foxes don't have any red fur; the one in the gif does.

[–]Neker 4 points5 points ago

Actually, domesticated silver fox come in every shade and hue, which is a genetics wonder.

[–]Hawkleer 12 points13 points ago

GRAYFOX!

Or, alternatively, Gray Fox.

[–]FourAM 9 points10 points ago

[–]ballisticblue 3 points4 points ago

[–]grayfox6644 0 points1 point ago

not you too beef with me aswell

[–]grayfox6644 0 points1 point ago

does every one have beef with me today no just me

[–]justskidding 2 points3 points ago

Nope, it's a domesticated silver fox. Grey foxes (which are a different species altogether) are much smaller.

[–]KeeseSlayer 2 points3 points ago

Snake, SNAKE, SNAKE!!!!!!!

[–]Hellothereawesome 1 point2 points ago

can humans have foxes as pets? and have them not eat their legs or something?

[–]grayfox6644 2 points3 points ago

Did you call me

[–]padreick 0 points1 point ago

Would someone please confirm it's a fox?

[–]Brinner 7 points8 points ago

r/foxes

Seriously folks, click the random button every now and then

[–]Doe_Ray_EGON 47 points48 points ago

I think it's most likely a domesticated silver fox.

One will set you back about $6000-7000.

[–]Shniggles 23 points24 points ago

Ouch my wallet.

[–]YNot1989 44 points45 points ago

[–]DrTorpedo 37 points38 points ago

OMG

When it started making sounds I nearly died.

[–]Roughcaster 10 points11 points ago

If that almost killed you, this almost certainly will.

tl;dw -- fennec fox runs around making happy screechy noises.

[–]BARchitecture 5 points6 points ago

That thing has the same name as my dog . . . and he freaked out when he heard his name come out of the computer. Well done.

[–]JayGryph 1 point2 points ago

It's a furry little drifting machine. Neat.

[–]mcknicker 0 points1 point ago

That laugh reminds me of Chuckles the Fox.

[–]StoryTimeTim 1 point2 points ago

Not for people who have leather couches... But it is tempting to teach my cat a lesson.

[–]YNot1989 -1 points0 points ago

They're also wild animals, not domesticated (in purely biological terms. Domesticated Foxes don't produce nearly as much adrenaline as wild foxes, as is the case with Dogs and Wolves.)

[–]nota999 7 points8 points ago

Dammit, now I want a pet fox.

[–]bitch_im_a_lion 6 points7 points ago

If I ever get rich I'm getting one.

[–]WhoLovesLou 2 points3 points ago

Are they good snuggle prospects? I've heard they're pretty high-strung.

[–]FiL-dUbz 0 points1 point ago

Ahh, yes, the Silber Fuchs. What a beautiful animal!

[–]Thimee 0 points1 point ago

[–]AmericaTheHero 3 points4 points ago

When this was originally posted (I'm not complaining about reposts, don't worry), the owner said that this was a fox that he'd (legally) raised as a pet.

[–]Lupevs 1 point2 points ago

She'd* D:

But you have my upvote anyway. Swiper is legal!

[–]electric23sand 2 points3 points ago

I thought it was a coydog or actually really I thought it was a raccoon -dog.

[–]Binsky89 8 points9 points ago

Looks a little like a coyote.

[–]oldmoneey 7 points8 points ago

No dude, that's a fox. Even if it wasn't a fox it is definitely not a coyote.

[–]Dani_Daniela 0 points1 point ago

[–]jjdonnovan 9 points10 points ago

Probably one of those domesticated foxes. There was a very interesting article in Nat Geo about a year back, here's what a quick google search turned up.

http://www.slate.com/articles/health_and_science/science/2012/03/domesticated_foxes_in_siberia_an_experiment_in_peril_.html

[–]Sergris 4 points5 points ago

She should really just kickstarter that shit. $1,000 donation level gets you a fox. Sweet.

[–]Shinpachi 3 points4 points ago

Some of the thousands of dog breeders should make some damn investments and get this shit going over here, and while they're at it they should domesticate racoons. I'd buy the shit out of some domesticated racoons.

[–]TheFreeloader 11 points12 points ago

You don't know what a raccoon looks like, do you?

[–]makattak88 2 points3 points ago

It's a fawxe. Rare dog breed.

[–]Eaglicious 0 points1 point ago

I think It's a fox.

[–]grayfox6644 0 points1 point ago

Nope just me

[–]Zammin 0 points1 point ago

Aye. Definitely a fox. There's domesticated breeds now.

[–]Wafflesmudge 27 points28 points ago

Let's just thank god it wasn't a honey badger.

[–]Stingerr 19 points20 points ago

I want a fox :c

[–]Chazzelstien 11 points12 points ago

[–]iheartrms 1 point2 points ago

Not to go on all-fours; that is the Law. Are we not Men?

Not to suck up Drink; that is the Law. Are we not Men?

Not to eat Fish or Flesh; that is the Law. Are we not Men?

Not to claw the Bark of Trees; that is the Law. Are we not Men?

Not to chase other Men; that is the Law. Are we not Men?

His is the House of Pain. His is the Hand that makes. His is the Hand that wounds. His is the Hand that heals.

Who breaks the Law-goes back to the House of Pain!

[–]iamtcain 9 points10 points ago

Moving fingers, got you got you got you! Shit. Why'd they stop moving?

[–]AlienJunkie 4 points5 points ago

How the hell did you get a coyote to fuck a raccoon?!

[–]FarFromXanadu 11 points12 points ago

Why are you asking that to a fox?

[–]Obieousmaximus 3 points4 points ago

Chaos Reigns!

[–]DeFex 5 points6 points ago

Is that one of those specially bred Russian tame foxes?

[–]Bitter_Idealist 0 points1 point ago

So tonight when I was making dinner, I sliced a little bit of the end of my thumb off. Later, my dog was sniffing it intensely and then started chewing on it. I worried that if I ever passed out, bleeding, that my dog may eat me.

[–]3danimator 0 points1 point ago

He will

[–]OptimusxSLIME 3 points4 points ago

yeah this is lupevs fox swiper.... why is this getting 1800 upvotes from your post and the original recieves 80...

[–]gorvetus 4 points5 points ago

Humans are friends, not food.

[–]xPerplex 1 point2 points ago

[–]jessikaye 15 points16 points ago

No its a fucking fox.

[–]xPerplex 4 points5 points ago

[–]chumprock 11 points12 points ago

[–]BranchedOut 4 points5 points ago

Y'all mothafuckas need Jesus.

[–]grayfox6644 -1 points0 points ago

Did some one call me?

[–]fuckinDEAD 1 point2 points ago

[–]nod23 -1 points0 points ago

Wolves are huge, this little guy is tiny.

[–]not_an_ent -1 points0 points ago

Why not both?

[–]rakkoma 1 point2 points ago

is that a fox or a breed of dog? its beautiful and I'd like to know what sort of animal it is.

[–]jessikaye 4 points5 points ago

Fox

[–]no_no_NO_okay 3 points4 points ago

according to a bunch of redditors further up, it's a domesticated fox

[–]Lupevs 0 points1 point ago

I'm his owner. Swiper is a domestic red fox. He has a "Silver cross" coat, which is why he isn't the bright orange color one would expect. :)

[–]chronicallysexy72 0 points1 point ago

I'm interested in owning a pet fox, any advice?

[–]rokyrakoon103 0 points1 point ago

That's a lovely rascal you have.

[–]Shniggles 1 point2 points ago

E-mailed this to my friend, the fox looked at me right when my phone made the "woosh" noise when emails get sent.

My day is done.

[–]New_Slurm 1 point2 points ago

Chaos reigns

[–]munchiselleh 1 point2 points ago

I actually think that would be a hilarious re-sub for the gif, when he's looking at the camera

also + for the von trier

[–]Ice_tail 0 points1 point ago

"Oh shit, witnesses!"

[–]DevilsHandyman 0 points1 point ago

you should be careful. You were displaying a clearly enticing and delicious behavior!

[–]dopeboyhero 0 points1 point ago

Where can i get one right now so i can domesticate the shit out of it as a puppy and keep it forever.

[–]mrs_awesome 0 points1 point ago

Is that... a fox?

[–]theproblemofthepast 1 point2 points ago

If anyone is interested this is a color morph of the Red Fox. They're called, 'cross-foxes' due to their coat's unique blend of silvery and orange-ish fur. This coloring occurs in Red Foxes that interbreed with Silver Foxes (a different naturally occurring color variation).

[–]FinkThePolice 0 points1 point ago

Thought that was a raccoon for a second

[–]Haacker45 0 points1 point ago

Darn...my plans are thwarted again!

[–]NoahinVirginia 0 points1 point ago

Is that a rascal?

[–]simply_rivas 0 points1 point ago

Is that a raccoon-dog?

[–]hozjo -1 points0 points ago

Aww, I want a tiger for a pet.

[–]marshmallowbomb 0 points1 point ago

The more I watch that, the funnier it is.

[–]thebeefytaco 0 points1 point ago

Humans are food though. We're full of calories.

[–]BenJammin865 0 points1 point ago

My friend has a 6 month old Cane Corso that does this. It's pretty funny.

[–]Ryugi 0 points1 point ago

OMNOMNONOM NOM grrr.... Wut?

[–]alorty 1 point2 points ago

A. Pet. Fox. I am envious beyond belief at this moment.

[–]r4robertwhite 0 points1 point ago

[–]TheZipRip 0 points1 point ago

Wait a second... That's not bacon.

[–]supercoolthrowaway1 0 points1 point ago

[–]awesomeck 0 points1 point ago

WHAT A CUTE GUY

[–]ConstableCockBlock 0 points1 point ago

Humans are friends, not food.

[–]redgreenandblue 0 points1 point ago

¿Qué?

[–]Popping_Cat 0 points1 point ago

Same title as the tumblr post that's been circling over the last week

I still love it though

[–]The_Mighty_Spork 0 points1 point ago

God I'd love a fox for a pet... Instead here they just kill them as a pest :( Hell even our native animals are legal as pets halfway across the world but can't keep one here.

[–]Doctorderper 1 point2 points ago

This is the most /r/aww thing I have ever seen in /r/funny.

[–]FreeSquirrel 0 points1 point ago

It looks like the result of an inter-species threesome between a raccoon and a dog and a fox.

[–]Skurhink 0 points1 point ago

I want a pet fox. :(

[–]Duplicate_Pie 0 points1 point ago

That thing looked remarkably like a fox....

[–]Inteli_Gent 0 points1 point ago

For some reason, this dog reminds me of Drizzt Do'Urden (as if there's another Drizzt). I don't quite know why, but I approve.

[–]FrisianDude 0 points1 point ago

not a dog, dude. Is a fox, fellow.

[–]DrHasnoCash -1 points0 points ago

Cool dog

[–]SKSTeam 0 points1 point ago

oh look dexter's mom

[–]electronic_freak 0 points1 point ago

Thats just his raccoon side kicking in

[–]dressedseriously 0 points1 point ago

Don't know if this was said. That is a cross colored red fox named Swiper, he isn't a Russian domesticated fox. He was bred in captivity in America.
