  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

Cool photo but you were way too heavy handed on all the adjustments to the sky. You also lack any blending of your adjustments so it looks bad. -amateur photographer and aperture nerd.

Been there, nothing like it. Adjust HDR back to "somewhat realistic" setting. The smog should be substantial, no reason to make it look like there's visibility to infinity. Down voters are wu Mao army.

I was watching this very episode with my friend and her parents started watching with us and her mother had to leave the room because she couldn't stand the fact that he got to see all these wonderful things and complain the entire time. Gold.

The person who took this photo is in the forbidden section of the wall, i.e., off limits area because it is unimproved.

People who stray out there are subject to getting robbed, beaten, or worse (especially if it is the section near Badaling).

For those curious, this photo was taken at the Simatai Section of the Great Wall. I visited there several years ago and got to climb to the off-limits section (higher vantage than where this was taken). Some more photos here.

It's been closed for over a year now to tourists. I had heard as of October 1st that it was actually purchased by a private investment firm but those types of stories are pretty common around Beijing. Who knows as to its veracity.

There was woman who's name I can't remember I think she's based out of the bay area. Anyway she took a picture of the great wall on an old film camera that was one the best Great Wall of China pictures I have ever seen. Does anyone know what the phototagraphers name was?
