Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

Grains of sand carefully chosen to not include any well-rounded quartz grains.

[–]JAV0K 17 points18 points ago

But they're still grains of sand, amazed that they can even be this shape.

[–]Monsieurcaca 89 points90 points ago

These are microfossils, not sand.

[–]aldude3 5 points6 points ago

Just smile and forget.

[–]Sirianjazz 191 points192 points ago

Not this fucking post again!!

Ah well, cue the 1000 standard replies stating that it isn't actually sand, and OP is a karma farming whoremonger.

[–]ImNotGoodInEnglish 86 points87 points ago

Yes, every time someone point it out : they are micro-fossils. Fuck you OP!

[–]LerithXanatos 9 points10 points ago

What is a micro-fossil? Are you telling me there are micro crabs and micro leeks?

[–]pauli_rearea 2 points3 points ago

and fuck trance! note: I do not condone the hate of trance, see: OP Username.

[–]laszlomoholy 4 points5 points ago

As opposed to a karma mongering whore farmer. Those guys we like.

[–]Sirianjazz 3 points4 points ago

Those gals even more!

[–]laszlomoholy 1 point2 points ago

Well, I was referring to karma mongering farmers who grow whores. But I suppose the farmer could also be a girl.

/ But it's gonna be a long day having to tend the farm AND cook the dinner, ammiright guys? Guys?

[–]Sirianjazz 1 point2 points ago

Ah, all makes sense now, yeah, you're right! Nice line of work to be in.. I need to think about changing my pumpkin patches produce for next year actually!

Though I'm not sure how carving up whores for Halloween would go down with the kids?

[–]Gramma42ton 4 points5 points ago

Doesn't matter, he still got 830 karma out of it.

[–]Sirianjazz 5 points6 points ago

Yeah, and how sweet the produce from stolen seeds must taste!

[–]barcelonatimes 0 points1 point ago

I've come from the future to tell you that this post will reach over 977 karma points.

[–]silent_p 0 points1 point ago

Whoremonger? He's a pimp, then?

[–]MYDOGSTELLA 48 points49 points ago

[–]devg 9 points10 points ago

I only see 8 dildos....

[–]MYDOGSTELLA 9 points10 points ago

I was waiting for this comment. Guess which one is the 9th. Muhahahha

[–]borick 2 points3 points ago

It's a trick! The flesh-light doubles as a dildo.

[–]2tonne21 0 points1 point ago

That just depends on your standards. Personally I see 14.

[–]peace_off[!] 5 points6 points ago

The big one on the right and the yellow one to the left looks like sandy claws.

[–]zip_000 1 point2 points ago

I don't see it. Maybe if they were wearing the red suit.

[–]wadamo 4 points5 points ago

bags of sand

[–]RenardRouge 2 points3 points ago

The three green tube like objects on the right are sea urchin spines.

Source: picking these out of dirt from an ancient Alaskan midden heap for a whole semester.

[–]ohjamesk 2 points3 points ago

as geology student this is appalling.

[–]kontraband421 3 points4 points ago

These are micro fossils, still very awesome looking!

[–]rwingvr6 3 points4 points ago

This seems to be going well for the OP.

[–]FourteenHatch 2 points3 points ago

yet another drop in the ocean of shit that the public subreddits have become.

[–]Spaceosaurus 1 point2 points ago

Have you ever looked at sand? We don't find claws and crystals in sand, sand is just small rocks.

[–]Azozel -1 points0 points ago

Tiny dildos.

[–]Seruz 0 points1 point ago

One of those is the claw of a small crab...

[–]scartysquatch 0 points1 point ago

are those dildos?

[–]gosling_el_operator 0 points1 point ago

this is bullshit. everybody knows this is bullshit

[–]red-plaid 0 points1 point ago

Wait so these ARE sand or just sand and microscopic vibrators that look like vegetables?

[–]Instincts 1 point2 points ago

Reminded me of this flash game i use to spend hours playing as a kid...http://fallingsandgame.com/sand/xsand.html

[–]SouzaNZ -1 points0 points ago

I came here expecting a great collection of OP is a faggot pictures.

Reddit, I am disappoint.

[–]0btusegoose 0 points1 point ago

If that's a grain of sand on the left, Joe's crab shack has been lying to me.

[–]reconknucktly 0 points1 point ago

no sand at all i'ld say, crabs urchins and other such animals, maybe one or two sand grains

[–]peaceisoverrated -1 points0 points ago

I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating. It gets everywhere!

[–]Zephyrlot 0 points1 point ago

My question is if you picked out all the ones of a single color and mixed them together, would you have colored sand?

[–]Roddy0608 0 points1 point ago

I doubt there's any silicon dioxide there.

[–]RuncibleSpoon18 0 points1 point ago

DILDO/CHURRO

[–]kcald0 0 points1 point ago

[–]Richard_Worthington 0 points1 point ago

[–]ent3rthevoid 0 points1 point ago

[–]just1questionea 0 points1 point ago

[–]Meocross 0 points1 point ago

Suddenly i want to collect sea shells, those sticks are awesome.

[–]slumberday -1 points0 points ago

I see three dildos and an anal ripper.

[–]nchoop -1 points0 points ago

I don't really care if this is sand or not. I'm going to believe that it is sand and continue to sit here marveling at the little wonders of life.

[–]ourosoad -2 points-1 points ago

Agreed. This blew my mind, then I read all the whining that followed and it took the shine off it a little bit.

[–]ByJiminy 5 points6 points ago

Yeah, and why did NASA have to prove the moon wasn't made of cheese? Totally ruined my sense of wonder.

[–]BarelyLethal -2 points-1 points ago

You are an idiot.

[–]Fifthfingersmooth -1 points0 points ago

Dildos on the right.

[–]jococat 1 point2 points ago

beautiful

[–]rylanian -2 points-1 points ago

Holy shit! It's a crab claw! A tiny ass crab claw... Shit... I had no idea there was such beauty in things so small. How does it even do it? How the fuck is that made?

How it's Made, you have a new task ahead. I request, with great intrigue, to explain to me how this shit that is so small, can take on a form so recognizable, so precise, without even trying? Or is there effort? Where does this effort come from?

Goddamn earth, all full of mysteries and shit. I love it.

[–]SonofSin17 -1 points0 points ago

Tiny crab claws = the earth being full of mysteries? The bottom of the Mariana Trench is full of mysteries...tiny crab claws are not

[–]rylanian -1 points0 points ago

What makes the Mariana Trench any more mysterious than microscopic crab claws? That shit is small. Do you realize how small that is? How the fuck did it get so small?

[–]SonofSin17 0 points1 point ago

The fact that the Mariana trench is ACTUALLY a mystery. As in thousands of possibilities waiting to be discovered...small grains of sand are just small. Erosion.

[–]rylanian 1 point2 points ago

Well... they're still a mystery to me. It's amazing that something can hold such complexity at such a microscopic level. The Trench, yes, that is deep, dark, unknown, holding thousands of possibilities, creatures, lost treasure - yes. It is truly unknown.

I have no fucking clue, really, how anything in this world is possible. Yes, you can explain it via science, observation. Then, perhaps, you have a good chance to explain how it might have gotten there, how it might work, what might have caused the driving force in the first place.

Yes, you can explain small grains of sand simply; erosion. But that doesn't capture it. I suppose that explains the process on the simplest level, but that does not explain the complexity, the number of years it took to get there, the amount of force that had to drive it to become what it is. It does not explain how everything comes together to form this tiny, insignificant speck of sand.

It's a fucking wonder. The world is a fucking wonder, and I get that we're trying to explain it, to understand it, to categorize it, to define things as a "mystery" or "not a mystery". No, it's not a mystery in the sense that Scooby Doo's Gang discovered who the culprit was behind the mask; it's merely awe inspiring. The world is capable of so many fucking things that we aren't even aware of.

Whatever we discover, we cater to what we know. We try to make it fit. We try to make it make sense, and it does, on a logical level. Past our logic, we have no control, we have no way to absolutely replicate what happens on, in, or to our planet on a daily basis. How it all works is honestly beyond us at this point in time.

Everything is a mystery.

[–]coding_ape -1 points0 points ago

welp, never going to the beach again

[–]crazyJcomic 0 points1 point ago

Aren't we all just like grains of sand on a beach. From a distance we seem to be nothing special, but if one examines closely, we are all each our own unique gem.
