I'd like to add that you should all visit the new submissions queue sometimes and vote there. Voting once something has reached the frontpage is mostly useless. However, voting on new submissions is crucial for having a quality subreddit.

This, a thousand times this. I mean I don't like reposts too much, but the people that make paragraph complaints about it never made sense to me. It is a site with millions of views daily, and you're openly saying "This picture crossed my eyeballs multiple times now, what is this blasphemy?!" just chill, smoke a bowl, and downvote.

See, here's the thing: a repost can be an honest mistake. But when you claim it is original content--now that pisses me off. Or when you take it from the front page to repost--that is fucked.

At some point there has to be a discussion about this. Reddit cannot become a place where we just try to think of new titles for the same posts as yesterday. I understand reposts are inevitable and they don't want Reddit to become only complaining about reposts but at some point that rule no longer makes sense. If you have been Redditing for more than a few months then you really start to feel the encroaching reposts pretty hard. The more you see the more you recognize. Even after a year I sometimes look at the accounts of reposters and I have upvoted some of their other reposts. I am just not interested in seeing nyah cat again with the title "look what I just made". There needs to be a way of dealing.

But many of the reposts are reposts on purpose to gain karma. This is the same thing as stuffing the ballot box, fraud. If you don't tell people it's a repost, they will up vote even though it's fake. I will continue to down vote reposts and complain about them.

You would know, if you bothered to read the Reddiquette in its entirety (which is one of the points in the reddiquette), that it actually contradicts itself:

That said, sometimes bad timing, a bad title, or just plain bad luck can cause an interesting story to fail to get noticed. Feel free to post something again if you feel that the earlier posting didn't get the attention it deserved and you think you can do better.

Okay, fine - if you post something that was posted before but only got a few upvotes, then you can make the argument that you're reposting it so people will see it. The complaints come when an image is on the front page of Reddit 8 times a week, with 1000+ votes every time, and people are clearly reposting because they know something will be popular, not because they think nobody has seen it before.

Aside from that, about 90% of the Reddiquette points go completely ignored and unfollowed by most Redditors, so pointing out one of them is stupid because you may as well point out all of them.
