I was an extra on PotC3 and did a scene with that group in their suits. It was really funny watching the Asian pirates fighting a bunch of guys in gray pajamas.

[–]EvilSchwin 237 points238 points ago

I was one of the guys in the gray pajamas. Good times, aye mate?

[–]orange_kevin 14 points15 points ago

Are you + Pyjamas in this photo OP posted?

[–]EvilSchwin 35 points36 points ago

Yes, I am in this photo, however I am the ONE Dutchman being completely covered up by another. Lucky me.

edit: Sorry, make that one of two being covered up. I just saw another of us, but at least you can tell he is there. Me, you'd never know I was there, I'm THAT covered up.

[–]ajmalkunnummal 6 points7 points ago

Are you seen at some other point in the movie? (I assume yes)

[–]EvilSchwin 10 points11 points ago

Yes, but not as prominently as the main Dutchmen. We were more "background" Dutchmen even though we have names and are credited.

[–]ieffinglovesoup 7 points8 points ago

Do you have proof? Sorry to be that guy, but reddit has made me very skeptical

[–]EvilSchwin 42 points43 points ago

It's ok, I'm that way, too. I don't want to "out" myself as this is my main account, but here is a photo of some of us on the Dutchman between takes.

*I removed the pic because I was informed that it could be traced to my personal account. Sorry. I'll try and re-host.

**Ok, it's now on imgur

[–]ieffinglovesoup 7 points8 points ago

Wow that's awesome! I'm pretty jealous, I've always been a huge fan of the POTC movies haha. Looks like fun

[–]audacityx 5 points6 points ago

you may want to rehost this photo on imgur or something because im 50% sure your profile can be found through the link you provided us.

[–]orange_kevin 5 points6 points ago

Oh man that kind-of sucks in a way! Were you allowed to take any personal photos whilst on set? If you were, perhaps you could upload one to show what your life was like on set?

[–]elynch285 48 points49 points ago

P.O.T.C. was and still remains my absolute favorite movie series.

And the crew of Davy Jones were by far some of my favorite characters from the series (Captain Jack Sparrow and company notwithstanding).

I tip my hat to you, good sir.

[–]EvilSchwin 31 points32 points ago

On behalf of the Dutchmen, thank you kindly. It's truly a surreal experience being on the deck of the Pearl 2 feet from Capt. Sparrow himself.

[–]elynch285 5 points6 points ago

Ahh!! I'm so jealous! Johnny Depps portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow was incredible and thus inspired me to name my cat Jack. Full name, Captain Jack Sparrow. Although, he's only a pirate when it comes to pillaging for food. lol

[–]Manofpesto 10 points11 points ago

I do have a serious problem with that being called the Flying Dutchman, however. The Flying Dutchman is a ghost ship captained by William Van Der Decken, who was cursed to sail the seas for eternity.

[–]swuboo 10 points11 points ago

Captain Van der Decken only appears in some versions of the story. It's a little hard to be pedantic about petty details like the Captain's name when the origins of the story are lost to time, and the only universally agreed upon details are that the ship is A: cursed to sail, and B: Dutch.

[–]elynch285 3 points4 points ago

I can't exactly remember where, but I read that it was chosen to be called that, as was the captain chosen to be Davy Jones, since they were both fairly recognizable legends for anyone somewhat familiar with nautical lore.

It's more or less about trying to appeal to a broader audience, coming in with names people already know. et cetera

[–]totally_mokes 3 points4 points ago

You sound like Michael Bolton.

[–]DrLeoMarvin 34 points35 points ago

fucking awesome

[–]Carninator 10 points11 points ago

Details, details! As in more of what you shot and what went on behind the scenes :)

[–]rconnelly20 10 points11 points ago

Were you that suspiciously onlooking pirate?

[–]FancyBread42 3 points4 points ago

So they were like the power rangers?

[–]darkfalz 3 points4 points ago

Do you know a guy named Kimo Keoke? He is sort of a friend of my wife's family, so she tries to point him out in the various movies he has done extra work for, some of which were the Pirates films. I know for sure he was n the second one (a tribesman), and am reasonably sure he was somewhere on Jones's ship at some point in the third film.

[–]DandyPirate -1 points0 points ago

Death is preferable to being seen fighting in sleeping garments.

[–]deanbmmv 128 points129 points ago

IMOCAP. If memory serves this was the first use of it, pretty ground breaking stuff (given you normally need a size limited MOCAP studio, and/or an exoskeleton suit.)

Here's an article on it if you're interested.

[–]gargeug 10 points11 points ago

Anyone know the technical details on the difference between IMOCAP and MOCAP? Went looking online, but I can't find anything.

EDIT: found a forum in which a few of the users are knowledgeable. Seems the black and white bands are key, as vision systems can pick them out easy. The actors undergo a calibration in which a model is developed that solves the problem of 'if these bands are in this config, then the skeleton is in this config'. Allows them to do MOCAP with normal cameras.

[–]deanbmmv 11 points12 points ago

Regular MOCAP uses baubles attached to the actor and is captured in a special studio with a set-up of IR cameras around the room. This creates a bit of a problem if you're wanting to do MOCAP on location and with regular actors involved too. So normally in that case you'd use an exoskeleton rig, but they are very inaccurate(or more correctly less detailed) and quite cumbersone.

IMOCAP solves this by using regular cameras to track actors with regular cameras, the software then uses the tracking bands on their outfits to do a "solve" (processes the footage to work out where the trackers are in 3D space) which is then used as a skeleton in making the CGI.

Though it should be noted that all forms of MOCAP still require tweaks by hand, so it's not as straight up as "film footage, process in computer, add tentacles, release for cinema".

[–]orange_kevin 2 points3 points ago

Japan will surely find a way of making it simple to add tentacles, only these tentacles would be a bit more rapey.

[–]DeeBoFour20 1 point2 points ago

  1. Find penis

  2. Replace with tentacles

  3. Release for porn

[–]infamous-spaceman 32 points33 points ago

According to Wikipedia the second Lord of the Rings movie was, as it came out 2002, and this was out 2006

[–]deanbmmv 69 points70 points ago

What I'm reading on Wiki is that it was the first real-time MOCAP, not IMOCAP.

[–]InsideOutBaboon 5 points6 points ago

I'm reminded of something I saw in the extra features of Star Trek (the new one). J.J. Abrams was directing his actors through a stunt and told them: "It may feel ridiculous, but it will LOOK AWESOME." I bet these guys had to be told something similar.

[–]N4N4KI 20 points21 points ago

It is a shame that all this money is spent on SFX and so little on a decent script.

[–]redwall_hp 1 point2 points ago

Yeah. My first relation to OP's picture was "this isn't Pirates of the Caribbean, it's one of the shitty sequels."

Surprisingly, the fourth one wasn't bad.

[–]BCBUDDHA 4 points5 points ago

Moot from 4chan pinned this video to the front page of /b/ last night it explains what you're talking about..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMUx01Yl-mE&feature=plcp NFSW!

[–]PositivelyClueless 113 points114 points ago

First thought: They make for a bunch of great pirates even without CGI.

Second thought: The spacial relationships and separation of the figures seems much stronger in the non-CGI shot. I assume in a movie, where there is movement, this is not a problem. But in this still shot (frame capture) it almost looks as if they are one entity.

[–]bencoveney 34 points35 points ago

It is a pretty big difference but it could be down to something other than the CGI causing them to look different in terms of depth. In the non-CGI shot they're all large single shapes, covered in uniform squares and circles which have been designed to contrast well. On the other hand in the second shit they're covered in coral and all kinds of other random squiggly shaped brownish blobs which are kind of hard for the eyes to pick out.

[–]PositivelyClueless 10 points11 points ago

I agree. Good point!
However, just to be stubborn ;) Look at hammerhead's upper body. Non-CGI, his left shoulder is almost overexposed, his right waist is very dark - no such difference in the CGI version. Captain's left arm has a bright edge in non-CGI and is almost uniformly lit in the CGI version. IMO things like this create the CGI-uniformity I mentioned.
Also, one could make the argument that sea creatures should be at least as diverse in texture and colour as grey cotton suits.

[–]SgtBaxter 5 points6 points ago

Except this post is a very low resolution JPEG. The original 4K film renders have lots of subtle highlighting and reflections from the characters being wet and glistening, plus they have a much wider dynamic range. All of that is completely lost in what was posted.

You can see it better in Blu-Ray grabs, but even those aren't as detailed as the original film as it was seen in digital theaters.

[–]Irma_Gerd 4 points5 points ago

Exactly this. There's a higher degree of contrast in the original footage. Additionally, the digital characters all have much more uneven outlines. This is how camouflage works. You break up the harsh edges of an object and it blends more easily with what's behind it.

[–]ruski_brewski 2 points3 points ago

Or it could be a slightly different frame of the sequence and that be that.

[–]myotheralt 2 points3 points ago

random squiggly shaped brownish blobs which are kind of hard for the eyes to pick out.

Camouflage

[–]CautiousTaco 3 points4 points ago

yup, they're all basically wearing camo/ghilly suits in the CGI shot. No wonder they blend into each other.

[–]KazMux 43 points44 points ago

Third thought: Those outfits are too tight.

Hammerheads parts are showing :/

[–]PositivelyClueless 31 points32 points ago

Did you see his hammer's head?

[–]Uncoolio 37 points38 points ago

No, but the outline of his penis is clearly visible.

[–]ThatsMisterDickToYou 6 points7 points ago

One-eyed pirates ahoy.

[–]jamez042 3 points4 points ago

can ye see me wooden leg, yar?

[–]cycloethane87 1 point2 points ago

The hammer is his penis.

[–]stordoff 3 points4 points ago

If I recall an interview I saw with Bill Nighy correctly, he insisted on the looser suit after seeing the other guys. He was also impressed by how much of his performance transfered to the CGI stuff.

[–]JoeyCalamaro 5 points6 points ago

I think another problem is that the CG shot is far too busy and detailed - there's just way too much going on and, as a result, the characters lose their clearly defined outlines.

The Transformer models in Bay's abomination had the same issue. There was so much detail, so many moving parts, hoses, gears and wires, that you couldn't even figure out what you were looking at half the time.

A robot doesn't have to appear like a mess of networking cables, pipes and pistons to be believable. Quite the opposite actually if we're to believe these things are built for combat. After all what's the point of being heavily armored when your body is riddled with exposed wires?

[–]usernameblank 51 points52 points ago

It must be a challenge to play the part of a tough-guy villain when you're stuffed into a meat-suit like that. Props to those actors.

[–]smiling_stranger 40 points41 points ago

It looks like a group of putty patrollers took over a ship.

[–]Tycon712 38 points39 points ago

[–]wiiatt 25 points26 points ago

[–]Freddie_AppsHero 474 points475 points ago

"Oh, no, it's Blackbeard and his ferocious pirates!"

"And here's Long John Silver and his dastardly crew!"

"And there's... Bill Nighy with his group of grey pyjama dorks."

"Not too concerned about that one."

[–]ColbyTheDog 205 points206 points ago

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 : The Curse of the Grey Pyjama Dorks 3D

[–]Jubeii 90 points91 points ago

Pirates of the Caribbean 4

ON STRANGER TIDES NEVER HAPPENED

[–]Pilpecurb 108 points109 points ago

I didnt think it was that bad.

[–]rsheahen 37 points38 points ago

I always preferred Pirates XXX.

[–]U2PrideITNOL 3 points4 points ago

A quality film, but like with most movies, the sequel isn't quite the same.

[–]NeighborStrategy 79 points80 points ago

It was the Crystal Skull of the Pirates series.

[–]Sureiyaa 54 points55 points ago

.......I thought it was a lot better than the third one.

[–][deleted] ago

[–]PJMorlow 23 points24 points ago

Meh, they sold it to me with Bill Nighy playing the organ with his tentacle beard.

[–]JosephAC 6 points7 points ago

Nighy... Oh man...

[–]WGMindless 4 points5 points ago

Whenever I play my piano, I always move my chin back and forth over the keyboard to pretend like I have a badass tentacle beard playing for me.

[–]Numlocks 37 points38 points ago

How any of you tell the difference between any of the pirates movies is beyond me. They all look like the same movie.

[–]IameAuhSomme 80 points81 points ago

They have this useful thing in the beginning of each movie that shows the title for a few seconds.

[–]I_Demand_A_Soda 11 points12 points ago

And on the front of the case.

[–]thedude37 18 points19 points ago

1 has zombies. 2 has the KRAKEN and 3 has a ridculous plot. Easy!

[–]Reconn 15 points16 points ago

I kind of wish they had just run with the Kraken thing for the 3rd movie. 1.Zombies 2-3.Kraken

The overblown story in the 3rd one is barely tolerable. Instead I watched people piss their pants at the Kraken for 2 hours in the 2nd movie and when I get to the 3rd movie. It mysteriously fucking dies off screen and then is only briefly mentioned in dialogue and a screenshot as a corpse later.

The 4th movie is shit too, they could have reinvigorated the series after the clusterfuck that was #3 instead we got 2 more hours of soggy bread.

[–]grrrwoofwoof 10 points11 points ago

And 4 does not have Keira Knightly.

[–]Ghondar 6 points7 points ago

So, not as good as 1 and 3 but still a good movie?

[–]Deakul 10 points11 points ago

Everything after the first pretty much sucked.

[–]Pilpecurb 21 points22 points ago

I disagree. I mean, if you go in there expecting this epic, awesome movie akin to the first, then yeah you're going to be disappointed.

I love all the movies, because I dont take them seriously. They're all just good fun to me.

[–]AaronToro 43 points44 points ago

That mindset is harshly unappreciated today. You don't have to pick to death every movie you see, especially some Disney action movie. I wanted to see Jack Sparrow be funny and some pirates fighting and that's what I got.

[–]thedude37 15 points16 points ago

Savvy?

[–]Seekr12 3 points4 points ago

See, I'd appreciate your logic on the films if it was true. The second and third movies didn't present themselves as silly, easy to digest action romps. They took themselves very seriously and introduced hundreds of new plot points that had no adequate explanation and made no sense to the viewer. On a whim the other day, I read the plot synopsis for the second and third film and I was still confused. Not to mention the second and third films are bloated, overlong pieces that I was praying would end. I can appreciate the amazing special effects and action in the films, but they have no context behind them. We're thrown plot points and are just told to accept them, for instance "Jack Sparrow is one of the pirate lords just because" and "Will has a dad made of barnacles just because". It's a little bit insane. Finally, what do you mean that mindset is harshly unappreciated today? There's plenty of easy to digest action schlock that makes millions at the box office.

[–]404-shame-not-found 7 points8 points ago

The second one is just as good as the first. In some minor areas, better. The people who bitch about the sequel are those who put too much goddamn hype into the movie. For the first movie you walk in not knowing what to expect, do the same thing for the second one.

As for the writing, I believe they matched quite a few details that made the first one good without copying too much and making it a good stand alone movie. The third one is when they dropped the ball, but then again it is the third one. Very few movies stand a chance to make it that far to begin with.

I found the 4th one better than the 3rd, partly I think because my expectations was dropped, and felt newer. Even with Will and Elizabeth gone, (to be fair it made sense for them not to be, it would be out of character they showed up for the sake of showing up)

Lastly, the most important detail most forget, is that this is a comedy action adventure. In that order. Therefore don't take it too seriously, sit back, laugh and watch a some pirates fight. What could go wrong? lol!!

[–]ravelle 5 points6 points ago

Indeed, movies are entertainment and those movies sure entertained me.

[–]bluepunchbuggy 5 points6 points ago

It was better than At World's End

[–]RamsesThePigeon 3 points4 points ago

Read the book it was "based on." There are... similarities, but very, very vague ones.

[–]FuzzyMcBitty 2 points3 points ago

It's so sad that it was bad given that the novel that it's based on is wonderful. On Stranger Tides by Tim Powers is interesting, and it inspired Ron Gilbert to do The Secret of Monkey Island. sigh

I read the last sentence in Nigel Thornberry's voice. I don't know why, but nevertheless it was absolutely smashing.

[–]IAMTHEDEATHMACHINE 29 points30 points ago

Black guy in CGI suit = sea monster with afro. Coincidence? I think not.

[–]generalCopper 5 points6 points ago

This is a pretty funny point.

[–]splein23 5 points6 points ago

i was checking the comments to see if anyone else noticed.

[–]rakust 15 points16 points ago

You'd best start believin' in body suits lad, YER IN ONE

[–]NeverUsedPhotoshop 8 points9 points ago

[–]StrictlyAcoustic 12 points13 points ago

Of course they gave the black guy an Afro.

[–]OmarRodriguezLopez 13 points14 points ago

Coral fro*

[–]TheNefariousBofar 6 points7 points ago

Davy Jones and his elite crew of postmodern flashers.

[–]iamtheowlman 7 points8 points ago

Bill Nighy looks like a depressed clown in this shot.

[–]Carninator 5 points6 points ago

Out of all 4 movies, this crew is my favorite.

[–]preske 5 points6 points ago

fun fact, the reason Bill Nighy has his eyes and mouth blackened is that originally Davy Jones was meant to have CGI eyes and mouth. But Bill was so expressive they incorporated it in the shots.

[–]FrankManic 43 points44 points ago

Transformers had the same problem. The CG is too complicated to make sense of. You can't tell one character from the others.

[–]ThatDerpingGuy 26 points27 points ago

I always thought it was a design issue. All the parts are constantly moving - it's so fucking busy you can't get a good sense or image of the thing right in front of you.

[–]bugxbuster 10 points11 points ago

Yeah, they look like a cluster of day-glo shrapnel. Fucking nonsense. If they were designed like the cartoon and toys from back in the day they would have been far easier to deal with lookin at

[–]ArkadiusMaximus 55 points56 points ago

Transformers had a lot of problems.

[–]RiseDarthVader 20 points21 points ago

CG =\= design

[–]flnhst 19 points20 points ago

I never had that problem.

[–]Hector_Kur 4 points5 points ago

It wasn't so much that the characters looked too similar, it was more a problem of them being interchangeable. Other than the "main four" (Optimus, Megatron, Bumblebee and Starscream), few of the robots had any kind of unique characteristics, and those that did have unique characteristics were either annoying, gross or poorly done (The Twins, Wheelie and Sentinel Prime respectively).

I mean, explain to me who Ratchet is without using any other Transformers media (G1, Unicron Trilogy, Prime, etc). Or explain what kind of character Barricade is. Seriously, these movies were worse than the Star Wars prequels in that regard.

[–]Freckleears 4 points5 points ago

I found that the colors of the bots was enough for me to tell which was which. It was a bit of a fuck for some scenes though.

[–]curlsforgurls 4 points5 points ago

For how old this is, it's bloody well done.

[–]easyhumanist 5 points6 points ago

That's hilarious, never thought I'd see this picture on the front page of Reddit. That's my twin brother and I there on the far right.

[–]Carninator 6 points7 points ago

Why is suddenly the entire Dutchman crew popping up on Reddit? If true then that's awesome!

[–]rushingfox 3 points4 points ago

I love seeing these kinds of behind the scenes pictures, does anyone have an album or more pictures?

[–]Carninator 6 points7 points ago

Here's another comparison.

Made an album with screenshots from various behind the scenes videos: http://imgur.com/a/uomBY

[–]WcJessen 4 points5 points ago

Had a small heart attack when I clicked on this at work. Thought it had something to do with dongcopter pirate guy for a second.

[–]pololovin 6 points7 points ago

Way to ruin the magic.

[–]ptboi42 22 points23 points ago

I can still see the magic.

[–]supaphly42 13 points14 points ago

You certainly can on hammerhead.

[–]nogudnik 8 points9 points ago

Actually now I see the magic even more. Thinking of the proffesionalism of these actors that have to pretend to be giant evil skids while dressed on pyjamas, knowing that their faces will not be shown on screen makes me admire them. Plus, they still look pretty badass without the CGI!

[–]OmarRodriguezLopez 2 points3 points ago

The guy leaning on the mast was the coolest.

[–]culby 2 points3 points ago

Today I learned the hammerhead pirate tucks left.

[–]RzK 2 points3 points ago

Anyone have a better quality one?

[–]heardlb 6 points7 points ago

Sometimes when I'm home alone, I pretend to be a pirate.

[–]raskolnikov- 4 points5 points ago

Well, if it was Star Wars the ship wouldn't be there and neither would some of the actors.

[–]Mirdan 3 points4 points ago

I am on a 3D visual effects course at the moment, and seeing how this stuff has been created, the work and effort placed in, as well as the art... This is a truly magnificent piece of CGI and Motion Capture. Hats off to them all.

[–]WonkaKnowsBest 2 points3 points ago

I thought this has been posted alot more than that. I've seen it more recently.

[–]serrakat 2 points3 points ago

Every time I see shots like this, it always makes me feel bad for the actors. It must be a lot tougher now to really immerse yourself in roles when you are not surrounded with an actual scene, or in this case, actual costumes as well.

[–]joeflux 3 points4 points ago

You've seen the red letter media reviews of starwars where he discusses this problem in detail? Link to the start of the review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxKtZmQgxrI

I would watch the hell out of that first movie.

I want to watch the whole film like this...

[–]catamongcats -1 points0 points ago

this is awesome

[–]SunnyShoes 0 points1 point ago

Not so badass after all

[–]sNeis 1 point2 points ago

I was just watching a Pirates of the Caribbean marathon, this is great.

[–]lustre12 1 point2 points ago

The bottom picture just looks like 2 monsters surrounded by a lot of moss.

[–]wallywortel -1 points0 points ago

Really takes rhe magic away

[–]MisSigsFan 0 points1 point ago

What did you take this with? A potato?

[–]tfgot 0 points1 point ago

As much as I enjoy the show Faceoff, this is why I laugh at it.

[–]greensand -1 points0 points ago

they look so gay haha

[–]n_reineke 1 point2 points ago

Why was the black guy the only fish-monster with an afro?

[–]astonishedatus 0 points1 point ago

Observation from a non-expert: The Captain's suit is so baggy compared to his crew. Usually these outfits seem very form fitting; what's up with that?

[–]thestig9211 0 points1 point ago

I remember seeing this right after the movie came out, and then each subsequent week on reddit since then.

[–]LadyTurtles 0 points1 point ago

As awesome as this is, i wish there would be more production make up involved. It always looks so amazing.

“ In the center rests the sun. For who would place this lamp of a very beautiful temple in another or better place than this wherefrom it can illuminate everything at the same time? ” —Nicolaus Copernicus, in Chapter 10, Book 1 of De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestrum (1543)

[–]ProjectD13X 0 points1 point ago

Was anybody else really freaked out by parts of this movie?

[–]john_sword 1 point2 points ago

Initial thought: pirates look less threatening in unitards.

[–]BeSsen 1 point2 points ago

CGI done well.

[–]LadyCog 0 points1 point ago

It as to be wierd getting into character with those suits on; "Ok, guys, wear these. And you're playing half-human-half-octopuss pirates who are the most dangerous and horrifying things on earth. aaaannnd.... ACTION!"

[–]FrenQuezoid -1 points0 points ago

REPOST... this is such a repost...

[–]Hector_Kur 0 points1 point ago

It's worth noting that only Bill Nighy's face was used in the motion capture-- the other crew member's faces might have inspired the expressions of the CGI creatures (like Hammerhead on the left), but their eyes, mouth, etc weren't used to the extent that Nighy's performance was. That's why his lips and eyes are painted green.

[–]Untouchablex7 0 points1 point ago

this isn't like the oldest picture on the internet

[–]Ncrpts 1 point2 points ago

This movie is a Ripoff of Monkey Island.

[–]m00tzman 0 points1 point ago

You know, when I skimmed by the thumbnail, I could have sworn that was Devo in greyscale.

[–]craigcamp37 -1 points0 points ago

This makes me sad

[–]y2kbug 0 points1 point ago

Is that Arnold Rothstein?

[–]dontletthebaconfoolu 1 point2 points ago

For some reason I always thought the hammerhead guy was black...

[–]dannynewidea 0 points1 point ago

This photo is amazing really. They reconstructed each face so well that I recognized each character right away.

[–]skysignor 0 points1 point ago

I don't see the difference

Of course the black guy's character has a fro.

[–]snowflakes23 0 points1 point ago

I'm just going to throw this out there. Just about everyone acts like they are movie critics. It's annoying as heck because unless you have actually been a professional critic you are just being pompous.

[–]zbrasseur1 0 points1 point ago

It's amazing how they can make those monsters look like humans.

[–]Black_Friday_Rule 0 points1 point ago

Where are the sensors on his dong?

[–]Elephonitron 0 points1 point ago

Every repost is a repost repost.

[–]evoim3 1 point2 points ago

Okay guys. LEt's all admit it.

Bill Nighy by far made this entire movie series worth it.

Dat accent. Dos facial expressions. Dem tentacles.

[–]waytoolongusername 0 points1 point ago

I'd love to be killed by sea monsters,

but the grey-suit cult would scare the shit out of me.

[–]jbrownonline 0 points1 point ago

Team Zissou! They are just missing the red beanies.

[–]thedude8591 0 points1 point ago

The POTC probably have the best special effects out of any movie. Davy Jones was oddly convincing.

Typical American movie: hire American actors instead of paying real life sea monsters to play themselves.

[–]agen_kolar 0 points1 point ago

I found this gif.

[–]salsapants27 0 points1 point ago

Wow. The guy behind Davy Jones (hammerhead guy) actually looks like the hammerhead guy! That's kinda cool.

[–]izmar 0 points1 point ago

Hey look, the token black sea monster dude.

[–]AintGettinDatKarma 0 points1 point ago

I love how awkward CGI things look before the CGI is put in.

[–]zombiefriend 0 points1 point ago

The first picture looks like something out of One Piece.

[–]tronn4 0 points1 point ago

Harbormaster!! The shipment of FAGGOTS arrived!

[–]finn_the_humann 0 points1 point ago

you came to the wrong neighborhood

[–]aheadwarp9 0 points1 point ago

[–]sex_on_wheels[!] 0 points1 point ago

Reminds me of the Aquabats.

[–]zachariah22791 -1 points0 points ago

they should release the movie with the unedited footage.

[–]WingedKurivolt -1 points0 points ago

I... want more.

[–]tommietsunami 0 points1 point ago

I always had a feeling that guy was black.
