I spent 20 minutes telling people at work that you don't "peak" someone's attention, you "pique" it. Even after looking it up in the Dictionary, they didn't believe me. So they ended up calling one of our clients at work who, strangely enough, trains foreign speakers on how to understand English. He backed me up over the phone. This gif is me, after that exchange.

The worst is when they will simply refuse to look it up or refuse to look at it when you do that for them. My ex-wife was like this, and she says I am the one who argues for the sake of argument. Me "Look it up in Websters Dictionary.", her "I have never heard of Webster's Dictionary, it is probably a fake one.", me "Well then The Oxford-English Dictionary." "That's English, not American."
