Well, I would make the point that the permanently shocked look of a pug is the result of just about the worst breeding of any dog breed. A pug's eyes are too large for its skull (not helped by its extremely shortened muzzle, which also leads to breathing difficulties). This means that they are not adequately supported by the eye sockets and bulge prominently. Not only are a pug's eyes hence highly prone to injury (e.g. from scratching), but they have also been known to 'pop out', for example if their neck was squeezed too hard by a choke collar. Plus they are prone to cataracts, rolling of the eyelids, inability to close eyelids, dry eyes and ultimately blindness.

Not to mention breathing issues, excessive snot production, buildup of moisture within the wrinkles( --> infections), ear infections, digestive issues, encephalitis...

TLDR: why the fuck would anybody want a pug?!!
