I got really mindfucked by one of the episodes when I was a kid.. It was the one where Goliath and Elisa come back to NY after their canoe trip to Avalon or something, and they find out that it's like YEARS into the future because time travels slower in Avalon.. and all the other gargoyles had cybernetic augmentations and shit.. then they all started dying.. That episode really fucked with me.

I loved this show when I was little. I actually won a contest they had. I wrote a hand written letter and sent it in. I got a box with a bunch of gargoyles swag in it. It had a crappy little handheld game, one of these, A fanny pack, and an xl tshirt. Whenever I think of this show and that prize pack I just get blasted with memories of the 90s.

I will remember this show for one reason:

It's not because the gargoyles were sweet as hell or the fact that I would watch this over Dragonball Z on occasion.

About two years ago this show and I had a very fortuitous event.

I was watching tv with a girl I had a rather large crush on, and it was in one of those moments where you both realize that you definitely both want to make out but nobody wants to make the first move. So I sat there for hours watching tv. We watched shows like Next Top Model and cooking stuff just so she would be interested. Then somewhere around 3 in the morning.. (I definitely didn't want to go to bed because at this point she's cuddling on me hardcore) we come across Gargoyles on the TV Guide.

She immediately exclaims "I love that show!". Which proceeds to me turning the channel and thinking god damn she's hot AND likes gargoyles. Can't wimp out now. I go in, we make out for the rest of the night until my roommate gets up and finds us awkwardly positioned on the futon. I didn't actually get to watch that episode though.

Too bad the girl turned out to be super manipulative.

TLDR: 3am Girl exclaims she loves gargoyles. Gives me the courage to make out with her.

I have the first season and first half of second season on DVD, plus 2 comics that were suppose to continue the series. Fuck Disney for upping their licensing fee. For those who wondering about season 3, as I read, Greg Weisman's contract was up with Disney, after 'The Journey' in season 3, some other idiot stepped in and fucked everything up. my favorite episode was when lexington was enamored with the pack and they got him to bring goliath to their hideout to hunt him. until that episode, i always viewed lexington as the little nerdy, curious one that never got in fights, but then when he found out the pack was evil he got all bad-ass with the angry white eyes and he and goliath whooped dat ass...
