I once woke up to breaking glass in my house and my dog attacking something. I run in to the living room and some how the dog had the legs of our end table caught in her collar. SHe was running away and growling and shitting through out the house. She broke the glass out of the fireplace she knocked over and broke a potted plant. I had to dive across the room and tackle her to get her to stop.

          When my cat was about a year old she got a large plastic bag stuck around her chest when we were out of the house. We came home and there was a trail of diarrhea throughout the apartment and she was running full speed from behind the chairs and couches. To this day whenever she hears plastic crinkling sounds like when I get a trash bag out, she runs into another room.

              I used to think these were mildly amusing until it happened to one of my cats. He was so scared, and it took ten minutes to get him dragged out from under the bed to comfort him and make sure he was all right. It took him months to not bolt from the room and hide whenever we so much as rustled a plastic bag. He still runs from garbage bags and foil, but he'll at least sit in the same room now while we unload groceries from bags. It's still really upsetting remembering how terrified he was. :(

              Mhmn. Mine was going full tilt around the family room- all I could do was stare and wonder how the fuck I was going to be able to catch him. Sadly, one circuit brought him too close to the futon and he rammed his head into one of its wooden legs at top speed. Knocked him out cold and he urinated all over himself. I had a brief second of panic that he actually killed himself, then he started to stir. Bags are now supremely scary to him.

              Fast foreward 5 years- I had two 4 ft tall rectangular Japanese lantern type floor lamps (with the paper shades held in shape by metal braces). Wake one morning at 3AM to the sounds of panicked wailing and thrashing. Same cat had somehow tried to climb? up the shade and had gotten stuck 2 feet in by the square metal brace inside. He was even more traumatized than the "bag incident", but the lamp base was heavy enough that he could only heave the whole shebang foreward about an inch at a time.

              It took about 15 minutes to get him calmed down enough to extricate him, as every time I shifted the paper shade it crackled, sending the poor guy into another paroxysm of wailing, peeing, and thrashing. The other two cats thought a demon had descended into the family room- not a one of them would set foot in it till the next afternoon.

              This happened to one of my cats once, when she was very young. 14 years later, she still will not go near a grocery bag, unless she has spent a significant amount of time studying it and sufficiently determined it is absolutely at rest, at which point she will very cautiously approach it, and then sit her fat bum on it defiantly and pose with her "trophy" bag until someone has given her adequate accolades for her grand achievement... of "vanquishing" the bag.

              He took off and darted through the house, eventually running down the stairs to my office. I went down and found the bag of bags lying still on my office floor, no cat in sight. Thinking that he had successfully escaped his tormenter I went to pick up the bags. As I did so, I heard the panicked howl that only a cat can muster as he burst his way through the bottom of the outermost bag, creating a perfect cat-sized hole and taking off somewhere else in the house. I laughed for a good five minutes straight.

              My cat did this when he was less than 1 year old! He ran around my entire apartment as fast as he could, because the plastic bag was "chasing" him and ended up running HEAD FIRST into my bookcase and at least 2 walls before ending up in the bedroom in a heap.               I'll admit that you may have a point, but I look at it this way: It frustrated me enough to make the video once, since I enjoy making funny videos anyways, and now all it takes is a quick copy-paste to do it over again.

              I also think what I'm hoping to accomplish when I link this video is a little less pointless than what repost-complainers are hoping to do when they complain.

              All I want is for less people to be annoying whiners about reposts. It'll make the comment section all the more pleasant for those of us who haven't seen it before or (gasp) have seen it before but acutally get enjoyment out of something more than once occasionally.

              Repost complainers seem to want everyone on the internet to do extensive research about every funny picture they want to submit to reddit in order to make sure that it has never, ever been seen before ever by anybody anywhere at any time on the internet.

              Both may be considered by some pointless, but you have to admit the latter is much more so.

              All it does is promote a stagnant reddit. If every week the same links are being posted then what's the point of even coming here. Its really easy to search to see if the link your submitting has been submitted.

                My cat did exactly this, except it was 3 am and the bag had leftover chipotle in it. This resulted in a terrified me who had been shocked awake and was stepping on rice and beans.                 My cat has a phobia of plastic bags because of this exact reason. I'm completely serious. When he was a kitten he loved playing in the bags after we had gotten groceries. Once one got wrapped around his neck and he ran all over the house trying to get it off. Eventually it tore off as he was going underneath the furniture.

                Now whenever we get groceries or have plastic bags, he takes off running and hides under the furniture. Poor little guy.

                My fat-boy kitty did this last year after an Xmas shopping trip ... He eventually lost the bulk of the bag's contents when he circled under the tree in the living room. I later found him in the basement sulking with the bag loop still around the upper part of his body.

                This happened to me and it was not "adorable". My cat got caught in the bag and sprayed piss EVERYWHERE. It was like a crop duster from hell, everything had a damp feel to it. Still cant look at my kitchen the same way.

                Happened to one of cats a long time ago. She ran around our entire apartment, urinating nearly the entire time and then ran into a corner knocking herself out. Everytime after that we brought groceries in the house she ran and hid under the bed.

                haha, that happened to my cat as well before...

                He somehow got his head through the handle and freaked the fuck out, doing that same exact shit, except he was on the 2nd floor of our house, the poor little guy tumbled down the stairs while pissing himself... I was mortified while my girlfriend was just laughing her ass off.

                This reminds me of my dog. We tied his leash to a full paint can to keep him from running off, he got a slight running start the can tipped smacking the ground scaring him causing him to run away from it faster.

                Our cat did this exact same thing once. We had brought home a plastic bag with several rental DVDs, she sniffed it and caught her head in the hand loop just as in the gif and immediately freaked out. The bottom of the bag blew out scattering the DVDs across the room and she ran back and forth across our apartment several times with the bag whipping around behind her like a shredded cape before she ran out of breath.

                I have another cat that would carry a birthday balloon I got my wife around by the string. It was the cutest thing as she brought it down the stairs. Then the balloon bumped into the ceiling at the bottom of the stairs and startled the cat who apparently was unaware of the balloon until then. She freaked the fuck out but didn't let go of the balloon and started running away. The balloon was bouncing all over the place behind her giving her the impression some crazed predator was right on her heels. She tore down the stairs to the basement where I found her terrified hiding behind her litter box with a bushy tail. As she had rounded the corner at the bottom of the stairs she had actually pissed onto the wall in terror. There was an actual arc of urine on the wall.

                Edit: Wow, cats pissing in terror stories are more common than I thought.
