And in this exhibit from Internet 2003, we have a picture of Frog and Toad with "Fuck the Police" written on it instead of the original title. People generally LOL'd at this and then played Rooftop Skater on Newgrounds.com.

I loved Frog and Toad!! I think there was one about a.. cookie.. or something.. Or one of them just ate a cookie. Or toast. Hm. I loved Frog and Toad.

[–]librarianzrock 2 points3 points ago

Nom nom nom (it's either from from Frog and Toad are Friends or Frog and Toad Together)

[–]BoneLol 1 point2 points ago

They had to have the will power to stop eating the cookies they made!

[–]shanna1221 0 points1 point ago

YES! That was it! omg, you're awesome!

[–]RhinoRoundhouse 1 point2 points ago

These were my thoughts exactly.

[–]riggsinator 4 points5 points ago

This and Little Bear were my favorites as a child.

[–]turtlesAlltheWaydwn 1 point2 points ago

Oh wow this hit right in the feels

[–]mcjustice12 1 point2 points ago

Does anyone else remember Commander Toad? I'm pretty sure It's the same author

[–]Turtle0_0[S] 0 points1 point ago

Had to Google that one. It's by Jane Yolen. So not the same author but the illustrations are fairly similar. These all look pretty awesome though

[–]librarianzrock 0 points1 point ago

I think that was Jane Yolen, not Arnold Lobel, but those look awesome too!

TOAD ON THE MOTHER FUCKING ROAD

[–]SonOfTK421 3 points4 points ago

I don't remember this book going quite that way...

[–]eeyore134 0 points1 point ago

It's a pretty big theme throughout...

Try the George and Martha series by James Marshall. Similar sensibility, although a bit sillier.

Omg I had completely forgotten about this book until just now! I used to read it when I was younger. Wow, crazy.

[–]frankyboy4my -1 points0 points ago

THE real book is "kikker en pad" Or "frog and toad"

[–]Takes_Best_Guess -1 points0 points ago

I loved Frog and Toad when I was little!

[–]The_CaCa_Monster 1 point2 points ago

[–]bigmac822 0 points1 point ago

[–]Choralone 0 points1 point ago

Do not disgrace Frog and Toad man...

[–]valueape 1 point2 points ago

still laughing...

[–]Taocman 1 point2 points ago

I fucking loved these books.

[–]big4M20 0 points1 point ago

Perhaps you could help me out. I have been searching for years now for a book I was read as a child. I'm almost positive it had those characters in it and it deals with grief. One of their friend (I think he was a toad or badger) passes away in the book and the other characters deal with the grief. It was read to me to help my father break the news that our mother, his wife had passed.

[–]majickid16 0 points1 point ago

my childhood!

[–]SoCo_cpp 0 points1 point ago

An important childhood less!

[–]DrunkSpatula 0 points1 point ago

Oh man this was one of my favorite books as a kid.

[–]slamminbeers 0 points1 point ago

Haha, I had that book as a kid. That's the first time I've seen the cover in over 20 years. This explains why I hate authority.

[–]WhiteBlade3000 -2 points-1 points ago

Frog and Toad was definitely a heavy series. But I still credit "The Berenstein Bears Seek Nepenthe" for getting me through the murder/suicide of my parents in a healthier, more mature way.

[–]jas1290 1 point2 points ago

ive seen this image probably dozens of times and ive never understood whats "fuck the police" about it. is there anything significant to frogs riding a bike?

[–]valueape 1 point2 points ago

"they see me rollin..."
