If it was a real beard they probably filmed that part first, then the earlier part with him clean shaven and then cut the two pieces together, adding some transitioning between no beard and beard at the point of slap impact.

Right, but I'm pretty sure the reply came after my edit, so I am still not sure what they were actually responding to.... either way however, it really doesn't matter, not everyone understands everything the way some other people do. Insulting people like Ben mentioned simply isn't helpful or kind.

Just searching for the image I've found that this has been posted well over 26 times. If you are TRULY curious how they did it then you might try looking at one, of the MANY, submissions of this image on reddit and you might find your answer.

Check it out frame by frame. A piece of lint disappears from his shoulder at the moment of impact. What I wonder is if they slapped him a bunch of times, or just positioned the hand. Judginging by the sway of his hair, my money is on he got slapped a bunch.
