The sign with Latin characters on it strongly suggests it's not Russia. Just guessing at the pronunciation of the word on the sign, but it's likely that "w" is supposed to be pronounced "v." In that case, it would put this somewhere in central Europe; Poland, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic or thereabouts.

However, there is a dot above the "s", and that isn't a Polish letter. Unless it's dividing between the word before it, or supposed to be "ś".

But "serwis" is ""service" in Polish. Not sure what else it could be. I can't make out with the first letter is, or tell if there are others before it.

I think its supposed to be an "ś" as you said. Also I think serwis isn't the full word on the sign it seems to be a G before it.

However I think the confirming thing that this is Poland for me is that blue sign on the fence to the right of it. Its like an address sign and I don't think they have that exact type and color of sign in any other country.

EDIT: Actually I think that dot might just be a divider for the words. This seems to make the most sense. Why do we care so much?

I was going to report this as well .. In Russia everything is written in a very angry aggressive capitalized font. I don't know the name of it, but it's on EVERYTHING. You can have a sign in front of a box of baby bunnies saying "free bunnies" and it would look like it's telling you to go fuck yourself!

Doubt it. His work is generally with higher quality miniatures. He also usually incorporates some sort of humor or absurdity into his work beyond the absurdity of miniatures exploiting the natural landscape.
