Welcome to Fall in New England, where it is a fight between Summer and Winter.

[–]SeismictossAllston 27 points28 points ago

Winter wins. Winter always wins.

[–]graffiti81 27 points28 points ago

Not last year.

[–]Se7en_speed 16 points17 points ago

Summer came back in January and fucked shit up, making up for Winter's victory in late October

I lost my job in the end of February. March was a great month to be unemployed! So beautiful!

[–]DamageProcessGloucester 0 points1 point ago

Too true.

[–]mattynunchucks 0 points1 point ago

I wouldn't have it any other way.

[–]theairgonaut 0 points1 point ago

Swimter?

Also, around where I am now, fall doesn't exist, we just rapidly oscillate between fall and winter.

[–]OldMrBoston 17 points18 points ago

I liked Fall weather before it was cool...

[–]Juan_SoloUnion Square 3 points4 points ago

Yea I'm stealing this.

[–]OldMrBoston 0 points1 point ago

Be my guest!

[–]spaminacan 12 points13 points ago

Summer with a side of gale force winds!

[–]ThisIsForWorkBrookline 1 point2 points ago

Thus my favorite weather: warm and windy.

[–]Stuffed_Cheese 0 points1 point ago

Walking up School St. was definitely a chore that's for sure.

Hoping so hard for a winter like last year's.

[–]HelloWuWuDowntown 11 points12 points ago

Also hoping for the same! But can't brush off that feeling that it's not a good thing for New England to not snow in the winter...

[–]paradoksikal 10 points11 points ago

Not to mention it puts seasonal Snowplow drivers in a tough spot financially

[–]joelupiReading 4 points5 points ago

Ha. Funny story. Last fall my boss bought 30,000 bucks worth of plows only to have last year happen

[–]CyoriQuincy 3 points4 points ago

Is that like... one plow?

[–]zishmusic 0 points1 point ago

That name again is Mister Plow.

[–]enaknezitic 2 points3 points ago

Unfortunately I think we're in for completely the opposite.

You know, that's what I said when the hurricane happened and then it blizzarded on Halloween. Fingers crossed.

It was so amazing. We didn't have to dig out our car a single time. There were no parking wars with lawn chairs and traffic cones. I still half half a tank of heating oil left from when I bought it a year a go.

Whats the famous twain quote?

"If you hate the weather in New England, wait a minute it'll change"

[–]g1zmoPorter 10 points11 points ago

It's pretty hard to find places where the locals don't say this.

[–]ScipioABeacon Hill 9 points10 points ago

Better than my hometown. "If you hate the weather in Seattle, kill yourself"

(I miss my 40 degree mists!)

[–]TheGreenJediFranklin 0 points1 point ago

Thats right cause your seattle has what 2x as likely to be suicidal rate?

edit: if you rush to reply, you're gonna have a bad time

[–]TheGreenJediFranklin 0 points1 point ago

True, but i do believe it stems from the twain quote

[–]PasDeDeuxLongwood 1 point2 points ago

Seriously. In my experience (lived in 10 very different states), Boston is actually pretty easy to handle. I don't know about the rest of New England, but climates near the ocean are typically pretty moderate relative to their latitude anyway.

[–]snackburrosCoolidge Corner 0 points1 point ago

I'm a Vermonter. We get about 3 times as much snow and winter can run from mid October to early May. Boston is pretty tame. Also in Vermont: You can get a ticket for having your car go into a ditch in a snowstorm. It's for "failure to control your vehicle". I got a few of those before I learned how to drive in the snow properly.

Move to a valley in California. Same exact weather, all day long, day after day, month after month.

[–]DamageProcessGloucester 0 points1 point ago

Thank goodness there's nice weather today, I was getting tired of longboarding to the train in the rain. :c

[–]A_RedditUsername 3 points4 points ago

That's terrible for your board. Might want to clean it soon.

[–]DamageProcessGloucester 3 points4 points ago

I do every day I work. I really have no choice. I don't have a car. :(

[–]AgentKilroyBeverly 0 points1 point ago

Not sure if regular New England weather, or nature is trolling.

[–]Zenoctilles 0 points1 point ago

It was great to wear a suit today to a job interview without having to wear a jacket with it, as I usually do.

[–]econguy -1 points0 points ago

Welcome to global climate change

[–]mowrawn 0 points1 point ago

I bought a new winter coat since my old one no longer fits and I was freezing the previous few days.

I was wearing it when I got into the car in the garage and didn't notice how warm it was until I got out at the gas station.

A very Wtf moment

[–]IlltimedYOLO -3 points-2 points ago

The weather's beautiful...and I'm just sitting here masturbating.

[–]AgentKilroyBeverly -1 points0 points ago

Go back to /r/SpideyMeme Spiderman, you're drunk.

[–]taekwondogirlBrighton 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, I'm gonna have to ask the weather to stay like this.
