Chameleon breeder here, as geckos said it depends really on species and how easily they stress . Chameleo calyptratus which is shown in this image is the hardiest of species and rarely "stress" from each other, as you can tell with the two imaged here, the female is showing no stress colors or behavior.

the reflection thing is really only at certain angles and the type of lighting you use and how much water is actually coating glass.

i have raised several dozen baby panthers in 10 gallon tanks to hold humidity, it really comes down to how planted the enviroment is, if the animal can hide and feel comfortable they don't stress as much.
