My only understanding of ASOIAF is watching the first season of Game of Thrones. I don't know if it's too early for me to understand it, if I need to read the books to get it, or if I did not pay enough attention to the show, but that reference was lost on me.

I'm guessing he's referring to the fact that the word "midget" is considered a slur. We're supposed to say "little people" because it is somehow less offensive (i don't get it either).

Somehow "little people wrestling" doesn't conjure the same delightful images. I'm also going to go out on a limb and guess that people who knowingly wrestle for the sheer novelty of it don't give a whole lot of fucks about what you call it as long as you buy some tickets, but who knows?
