That's not from today's jump. Note the different camera setup compared to this image from today's jump.

[–]FOR_SClENCE 129 points130 points ago

Considering that this guy wanted to break the sound barrier, he doesn't have balls of steel.

He has balls of Osmium.

[–]Butterlegs 24 points25 points ago

Is that because Osmium is the most dense stable metal, or is there some science joke I'm missing?

[–]FOR_SClENCE 23 points24 points ago

No inside joke, it's just the most dense. It would be difficult to damage them at all.

[–]Wakewalking 15 points16 points ago

Although it oxidises to form some toxic/carcinogenic compounds. He may have super balls but the rest of his junk wouldn't last too long.

[–]jaqq 21 points22 points ago

He obviously keeps them from oxidizing by pure will power.

[–]wanderer11 6 points7 points ago

Balls of Tungsten. He doesn't want them to melt on the way down.

[–]FOR_SClENCE 8 points9 points ago

W is also acceptable.

[–]I_BROUGHT_SNACKS 37 points38 points ago

FOR SCIENCE

[–]FOR_SClENCE 56 points57 points ago

SNACKS.

[–]DrugsOnly 9 points10 points ago

Thanks, but no thanks.

[–]jazloc 9 points10 points ago

DRUGS.

[–]ss1gohan13 1 point2 points ago

[–]smashitup 8 points9 points ago

Just a question, but are you sure that's from today? Why in your pic is there a lot of cloud coverage and snow on the mountains, but in the video it looks clear for miles? Album for reference http://imgur.com/a/Gd4iy

Weather http://www.weather.com/weather/today/USNM0267

[–]OriginalityIsDead 17 points18 points ago

You're telling me more than one person has willingly done this?

[–]martintrenker 93 points94 points ago

it's the same person, first picture is just a test jump at a lower altitude

[–]KamikazeKumquat 40 points41 points ago

just

ಠ_ಠ

[–]WhuddaWhat 2 points3 points ago

Compare the curvature of the horizon in the two photos. The second jump is clearly from a considerably higher altitude. That being said, your point stands, as even the test jump is batshit insane.

[–]therealflinchy 0 points1 point ago

Or a render, if you watch the whole video of it it shows free flying cams..

[–]dannytt 20 points21 points ago

If I was offered the opportunity to do this I would take it in a heartbeat, and I am sure many others would as well.

[–]BWalker19 11 points12 points ago

Exactly, this guy gets a crap load of money for something many others will do, maybe even me if the money is right. He had scientists making sure everything is working perfectly and designing and creating the equipment with a load of money from red bull and other sponsors. Theres probably as much chance of the equipment failing as a train derailing.

I think driving a formula 1 car at 200mph with several other 200mph cars around you is just as or much more scary.

[–]eloquent_ox 13 points14 points ago

Methinks Baumgartner's extensive experience mayhaps also facilitated his selection. It sure came handy when he started to spin but could stabilize it later on.

C'mon Walker, it's not like he could have been substituted with a bag of potatoes.

[–]BWalker19 1 point2 points ago

I know he was also chosen because of his experience, i said in a comment just below or above this one which you probably missed. I know he has experience in the army and has done parachuting with them and has done many other similar stunts to this as part of his career. I was just picking on the part where people make it sound like he is the only one with his qualifications thats not too scared to do this. Theres probably thousands of proffesional skydivers that have similar experience that would love to do this, and if non skydivers could get the experience i bet quite a lot of them would do it aswell.

Its the same with lots of professional stunt people , not all of them can be famous so only a few that were in the right place at the right time will get to be famous.

[–]eloquent_ox 3 points4 points ago

I agree with that phrasing, but I also think that that holds for most professions, actually. There's only so much room at the very top...

"I was just picking on the part where people make it sound like he is the only one with his qualifications thats not too scared to do this."

I do think that he was probably the best qualified person to do this, however. Others could have done this as well, yes, but with a bit more risk. I may just be sucked into the lead-up marketing hype of the event, but Baumgartner apparently holds many basejumping records prior to this. He seems to be the lets-push-the-envelope type of person, which trait surely put him where he is.

[–]szaero 21 points22 points ago

The older gentlemen in the live stream today was Joseph Kittinger. He jumped from 108,200 ft in 1960.

[–]roboroller 10 points11 points ago

A lot of people are probably more familiar with this famous image than they are his name.

[–]smixton 7 points8 points ago

Is that a portable toilet strapped to his butt? I would definitely need one of these if I were jumping from that altitude!

[–]T-REX_BONER 2 points3 points ago

I think Kittinger's jump was more ballsy especially with ghetto gear.

[–]LuckyDuck77 18 points19 points ago

102,800 ft*

[–]SniperPatrol 7 points8 points ago

31.33344 Km

[–]Heroshade 6 points7 points ago

Before they knew you wouldn't be shredded apart horribly at speeds upwards of 600 mph.

[–]Cfrock 4 points5 points ago

Former 82nd airborne paratrooper here.

Ill do it right now for shits n giggles. Source: retired balls of steel

[–]Revenant10-15 3 points4 points ago

I knew I'd seen this picture months ago. I thought I was losing my mind.

[–]an0nym1ty 2 points3 points ago

do you know if there is a video of the jump online yet?

[–]Hu_dat 5 points6 points ago

Dammit they need a helmet cam!

[–]t3pagent 37 points38 points ago

Wait for the BBC documentary coming out in a month or so. They will show what the cameras on his body showed.

[–]imsabbel 1 point2 points ago

Seems like they REALLY stepped up the cameras. Maybe 4k REDs for IMAX footage?

[–]ex_ample 12 points13 points ago

They also put them in pressure containers to make sure they kept working in SPACE

[–]therealflinchy 3 points4 points ago

Of course they would -_-

You can get cameras that will work at 10x atmosphere, no pressure would make them work better even.

[–]razrrr 0 points1 point ago

Yep it was taken at the testjump at ~21KM.

[–]donknotts 0 points1 point ago

I kind of want to cry, just looking at that photo.

[–]sodawoski 0 points1 point ago

that picture is even scarier...

[–]AdmiralSkippy 0 points1 point ago

Thought so. Now I can downvote this with confidence as OP is clearly just jumping on the karma train today.

[–]escapist11 0 points1 point ago

came here to comment on the camera differences. I didn't even know they made a test jump!

[–]BlindSight754 0 points1 point ago

Another good way to tell is that I believe today he jumped facing that long ridge you see in OPs picture.

[–]ForzaFan 0 points1 point ago

I think either jump makes his balls steelier than mine.

[–]eydryan 32 points33 points ago

Tried that in Kerbal Space Program. Did not go well...

[–]bloodiedfencer 1 point2 points ago

My ship blew up before I even got that high.

[–]DoctorDank 76 points77 points ago

You know what really takes balls of steel? Doing this in 1961, then later in your life, commanding a fighter squadron in Vietnam and flying over 483 combat missions, getting shot down, spending 11 months in the Hanoi Hilton, and acting like none of it ain't shit.

Kittinger for the win.

[–]eloquent_ox 21 points22 points ago

Agreed. His story is kinda the main story here.

Someone posted the photo of him when he jumped out of the basket (?) - a wooden thing just like that used in today's fairs, by the looks of it.

In fact, all those Air Force test pilots guys in the 1950-60s were mindboggingly fearless.

Relevant book.

[–]DoctorDank 11 points12 points ago

I'm the son of a USAF fighter pilot and the grandson of a USAF test pilot. I can confirm that they were, indeed, without a fear gland.

[–]eloquent_ox 1 point2 points ago

Awesome! Good god I envy your childhood bedtime stories...!

"And that day, when Granpa was blasting thru the sky at Mach4..."

Serious question: did they approve of the film that was done under the same title in the 80s, with Ed Harris? Thx.

[–]Jack_McCoy 4 points5 points ago

And then he helps the next generation break his records. Stand-up guy.

[–]Roopa132 16 points17 points ago

This is from his test jump in March.

[–]deja-vu-comment 112 points113 points ago

Space isn't remote at all. It's only an hour's drive away if your car could go straight up.

.

[–]detourxp 24 points25 points ago

I remember that Bill Nye episode where he ran around the track to get to demonstrate how close the different sections of our atmosphere are.

[–]Noxrazi 33 points34 points ago

[–]AdmiralSkippy 5 points6 points ago

Well he certainly runs like a scientist.

[–]plasmalaser1 3 points4 points ago

Was not disappointed.

[–]random314 3 points4 points ago

The edge of what's considered "space" is not far at all, but we have satellites as far as 22,000 miles away. So that's really the tip of the iceberg.

[–]kimcheekumquat[!] 3 points4 points ago

Thank you Mr. Bot.

[–]WTFppl 16 points17 points ago

I have a serious question?

  • Can we now exit our space vehicles in orbit in an emergency and descend to Earth in space suites(designed for such purpose or built to a standard for newer suites)?

Inquisitive?

[–]kipi 17 points18 points ago

You'd need a way to slow down horizontally: The ISS orbits at 17,500 mph (relative to the atmosphere) which is a hell of a lot faster than this jump. On top of the this, low-earth orbit is a lot higher (2,000 km vs 39 km). In short, you'd be travelling considerably faster by the time you entered the atmosphere.

[–]shorty6049 11 points12 points ago

This was something that was discussed a bit (I don't have any sources, sorry) in relation to this. They were saying that if he's successful in this jump, that it proves that it could be possible to exit a spacecraft and safely land on earth .

His suit didn't fail, so technically yes , but obviously a bit more planning would have to go into it since he wasn't jumping from the height a spacecraft would orbit (as far as I know)

It's a step in the right direction though

[–]sharkiest 19 points20 points ago

Not to mention his cross ground speed was about 8 miles per hour, whereas an orbiting space craft is going Mach 18 or something like that.

[–]nockle 9 points10 points ago

That right there is the issue. That's kind of a big deal!

[–]twister55 5 points6 points ago

my quick answer would be HELL NO!!!!

These vehicles are moving sooo much faster and thus the people inside them. You would have to slow down using the atmosphere and i dont think theres a suit that can handle that kinda stress ..

also ISS for example is in orbit ... meaning if u jump out of it u wont fall, you will just float away and than eventually maybe burn up in the atmoshpere.

[–]ex_ample 2 points3 points ago

No. In order to jump from orbital velocity (in low earth orbit), you need to be going about 7.8 km/s relative to the ground, and thus the atmosphere. And you'd burn up.

In order to do it from a balloon, you'd need to be going about 0 m/s relative to the ground, and thus you'd only slowly accelerate due to gravity until you reach terminal velocity.

If you're in a super high orbit, you may not be moving that quickly, i.e. a geosynchronous orbit then you would still be relatively fixed. But, well first of all you wouldn't fall, you'd just sit there. If you gave yourself a boost towards the earth, you'd end up with a different orbit.

That's the other problem with trying to bail out of an orbital situation. You wouldn't fall, you'd still be in orbit.

[–]Keiso 103 points104 points ago

I'm not sure I agree with the "balls of steel" comment that people keep using. I think there are a lot of people who would love to do this if given the opportunity.

[–]Lilyo 12 points13 points ago

I would do it for free...

[–]Retroactive_Spider 20 points21 points ago

"Balls of steel" still applies, regardless of how many would like to do this. I'd like to do this. But even if the opportunity came up, I wouldn't... I'm a fucking coward.

[–]SummerDays 16 points17 points ago

Are you kidding me? You wouldn't jump in a space suit? I would pay to do that! I fear more of doing back flips than this. I fear more of doing a low attitude parachute(bridge/building jump) than this. The people who should receive all the credits are the engineers who built this suit.

[–]centerbleep 9 points10 points ago

The thing is, many people would like to do this AND do it. It's still balls of steel though, you have to wear that protective armor ;)

[–]SanityInAnarchy 2 points3 points ago

I would.

From up there, it looks so peaceful and small and spacey. It almost wouldn't feel like a jump from a great height, it'd feel kind of alien...

By the time it got scary, I'd already be on my way down.

[–]vonCam 5 points6 points ago

I think my fear of heights would be alleviated if I happened to be wearing a parachute and a pressurized space suit.

[–]Xvash2 6 points7 points ago

ODST?

[–]TylerDurdenisreal 4 points5 points ago

We're only like 75 years off from the shit. It'll be fucking awesome.

[–]238 6 points7 points ago

This is a lot scarier for Felix he had to sit there for over 2 hours going up there must have really built up the anticipation.

[–]aurora2k7 23 points24 points ago

i guess somebody has a new facebook profilepic.

[–]joshcoles 15 points16 points ago

Something about "profile pic" squished into one word makes meshudder.

[–]exaei 12 points13 points ago

I would like to know more about this mesh udder you speak of.

Sounds quite painful.

[–]WeldingMouse 4 points5 points ago

I think it would actually be easier to jump from that extreme height than to jump from something like a span or antenna.

When you're that high up you wouldn't even have landmarks to give you a real perspective of how high up you really are.

[–]dukec 4 points5 points ago

To a point. Jumping from about 15,000 ft. it's like that. Jumping from > 120,000 ft, it's kinda different when you step off that ledge. Kittinger said he freaked out because it felt like he was just stuck since there was no feeling of acceleration, and that it was pretty terrifying.

[–]samx3i 4 points5 points ago

If that were me right there, I can pretty much guarantee letting go and falling wouldn't be high on my to do list.

[–]Deibido1111 6 points7 points ago

Being as its the only way you're getting down anytime soon, you should reassess your priority list.

[–]samx3i 7 points8 points ago

Nope. I'm staying the fuck up there.

[–]21000 1 point2 points ago

Downvoted, not today's but old photo.

[–]Elfinan 7 points8 points ago

I would have shit myself the whole way down. It would have take a valium or two just to get me into the craft.

EDIT: "Hey guys what did you do today? Did you SKYDIVE FROM SPACE? No? Then I don't care."

[–]Obieousmaximus 4 points5 points ago

that's not the earth below him, that's his left testicle. edit: spelling

[–]BTP2135 2 points3 points ago

Spaceballs

[–]Iamadinocopter 2 points3 points ago

that's not from today. that's the old one.

[–]ConnorHD3 0 points1 point ago

This picture has front paged about 3 times and it's not even from todays jump.

[–]h989 2 points3 points ago

Not good with science or physics, but when he jumped, why didn't he float into outer space?

[–]C4_pants 2 points3 points ago

No, he wasn't into full outer space. I think he jumped from the stratosphere or something.

[–]Parkersaur 2 points3 points ago

This would've made an amazing GoPro commercial.

[–]cgrosshans 1 point2 points ago

He didn't jump, the gravitational force of his massive testicles pulled the earth back to him. From this displacement we should expect the year to be about 2 minutes shorter from now on.

[–]cyantwist 1 point2 points ago

Tungsten carbide.

[–]JimmyFlimFlam 1 point2 points ago

I have to believe that his balls are made of a space-age alloy of some sort at this point...

[–]Hayha 1 point2 points ago

Anyone have a video of everything from the final checks? I got called away from my computer when he was actually about to jump after watching him ascend from 70,000 feet.

[–]bakonydraco 1 point2 points ago

Definitely titanium, steel is too heavy.

[–]mattzm 2 points3 points ago

That would definitely solve the icing problem.

[–]MericaMan4Life 1 point2 points ago

what an incredible shot of earth...that's nuts.

[–]gwigmig 1 point2 points ago

Does anyone know if there was a helmet cam?

[–]dukec 2 points3 points ago

There is, but it's going to be released as part of the BBC documentary that's coming out in a month.

[–]shnizzaga 1 point2 points ago

I would do that shit in a heart beat.

[–]the_neophyte 1 point2 points ago

You think he already got laid by doing this? Like, he stepped into the bathroom to take a piss after the press conference and someone snuck in behind him, locked the door and fucking HAD TO go down on him...

[–]dogfunky 0 points1 point ago

I want to see this as a Lego set on Lego Cuusoo.

[–]my_Favorite_post 1 point2 points ago

There is a picture like this from today's jump which I cannot wait to make my wallpaper (once it gets posted)!

[–]Peetrius -2 points-1 points ago

Wait a second, who/what is taking the picture?!?

[–]PoorMinorities 0 points1 point ago

Is it just me, or does the prospect of jumping from the edge of the atmosphere less fear-inducing than jumping from the top of a skyscraper?

[–]seeyouinhealth 0 points1 point ago

i f you stare at it for 10 seconds you can see his capsule rocking underneath him

pretty fuckign scary

[–]cobra_2109 0 points1 point ago

Balls of steel and knees of oatmeal.

[–]ocdad -1 points0 points ago

Does it require balls of steel though? I mean, does it hurt somehow?

[–]malakon 0 points1 point ago

do they recover that capsule ? or will it crash back ?

[–]giantpandamonium 1 point2 points ago

am I the only one who thinks it would be easier to jump from that kind of height than from a normal skydiving height? You're just so separated from reality up there. But maybe that's just me

[–]tangoshukudai 0 points1 point ago

I would do it, looks safe enough..

[–]stefan_89 1 point2 points ago

If NASA came to my house and said 'Mr stefan_89, based on our screenings, you came as our prime candidate to test a space suit, in order to do this, we will launch you 60 miles above the Earth's ground and you would have to free-fall and parachute at xxx time.' I would drop out of school and pack my bags for that.

Honestly, how many people can say that they have experienced space?

[–]homeless_man_jogging 0 points1 point ago

Not as ballsy as base jumping though.

[–]buckie33 0 points1 point ago

Watch your step.

[–]APWTSIS 0 points1 point ago

I wonder if at any point during the jump he thought, "maybe this was a bad idea..."

[–]RichardBehiel 1 point2 points ago

Balls of steel? It was impressive, sure, but I think quite a few people (myself included) would love to jump from that height if given the opportunity.

[–]tbare -1 points0 points ago

I heard he had to stand like that all the way up because his balls were too big to it in the capsule.

[–]tinamou63 0 points1 point ago

It was so epic when the command center said "release seatbelt".

No movement

"Can you hear me?...release seatbelt..."

that moment must have been terrifying.

[–]PickettsLetharge 0 points1 point ago

He wasted NO time. He made his peace, gave a salute and hauled ass. It was an adrenaline rush from my couch.. I can only imagine what it was like for him. Great day for science and for badasses with large testicles!

[–]QueenxNina 0 points1 point ago

More like underpants of plastic, amirite?

[–]Wizard_Win 0 points1 point ago

This is an old pic

[–]_pastandpresent 0 points1 point ago

That was probably the best feeling ever

[–]crewdat 1 point2 points ago

His balls touched down on the Earths surface 2 and a half minutes before his feet.

[–]meliaesc 0 points1 point ago

Haha humans are so adorable, trying to understand space and shit.

[–]kennyshor 0 points1 point ago

Steel is too soft compared to that guys balls.

[–]wayndom 0 points1 point ago

Titanium testicles.

[–]song_bird 1 point2 points ago

"Sometimes you have to go up really high to understand how small you are" - Felix Baumgartner

[–]PointlessManiac 0 points1 point ago

I would kill to do this

[–]wholypantalones 0 points1 point ago

Hey Reddit, in case you haven't seen the front page right now; a guy jumped from the edge of space and Amanda Todd killed herself.

[–]The_Real_Expert 0 points1 point ago

This is from 97,000 feet and I see it on reddit DAILY. :P

[–]CornFedHonky -1 points0 points ago

Stop the viral marketing shit already. Who fucking cares?

[–]darbyisadoll 0 points1 point ago

I don't think I'd care if I died... trip down would be an awesome consolation.

[–]unireed 0 points1 point ago

Red Bull: Not even once.

[–]csm242000 0 points1 point ago

Balls of AC/DC; The *Biggest of them all !!

[–]Brad13186 0 points1 point ago

Just have to say that if I was paid to beat his record I would do it in a heartbeat.

[–]NEPwntriots 0 points1 point ago

Turn the camera away from the Sun they said. It'll look purple they said.

[–]DynamoJack 1 point2 points ago

I think you mean adamantium. Balls of adamantium (regardless if this wasn't from today).

[–]Leolisk 1 point2 points ago

I think it would be much easier for me to do this than something like bungy jumping

[–]Dandarya 1 point2 points ago

No one thought to give him a go pro camera?

[–]hcsLabs 0 points1 point ago

Unobtanium ... Pure unobtainium.

[–]Jineric 0 points1 point ago

bulls of red

[–]hatesyolo01 0 points1 point ago

He got balls of steel, but I'm sure he got pretty cold feet before doing it.

[–]s1500 1 point2 points ago

I like the fact an energy drink company did all this. Germany's NASA.

[–]TheFluxIsThis 0 points1 point ago

So wait....this guy fell FROM ORBIT?

[–]Ebelglorg -1 points0 points ago

We get it

[–]MalcomEx 0 points1 point ago

deduct points for holding onto railing.

[–]Sandal-Hat 0 points1 point ago

I could go for a Red Bull.

[–]stortz 0 points1 point ago

karmawhoring the wrong jump

fuck you OP

[–]DoctorSteve 0 points1 point ago

I hope one day people will think that people like this are stupid, and that true bravery is something involving standing up to other humans.

[–]Kheran 0 points1 point ago

This video perfectly captures / animates what the jump preparations were like and how they envisioned the jump. A lot of preparation and testing has gone into this.

And as someone already mentioned, OP's pic is not from today, but last week.

[–]Floormonitor 0 points1 point ago

This is Major Tom to Ground Control, I'm stepping through the door....

[–]discopowerpack 1 point2 points ago

I feel like it would be so surreal that it wouldn't be that hard to jump. Like that situation isn't really natural, I don't think you would feel that much fear and not be able to jump.

But then again, you don't know until you're there.

[–]C-pain787 1 point2 points ago

no matter what argument he's losing he can just drop... "yeah well i skydived from fucking space"

[–]therealflinchy -1 points0 points ago

Yeah that's a render

[–]RainDancingChief 1 point2 points ago

You have to wonder what's going through a guy's head when he's about to free fall from 128,000 feet and reach speeds over 1000 km/h.

[–]Toy_Cop 1 point2 points ago

I'd love to take this jump. LOVE. This guy is Lucky IMO.

[–]redditsuxdicks 0 points1 point ago

Balls of steel and brains of an idiot.

[–]NYCMiddleMan 0 points1 point ago

Maybe dumb question: how did he not burn up entering the atmosphere?

[–]thegendler 0 points1 point ago

can some one make a version of this for a phone wallpaper? specifically a galaxy s3?

[–]brennanx1 0 points1 point ago

I kinda wanted to do that jump...

[–]FunkyOrganika 0 points1 point ago

No joke though, i jumped from 40 ft into water and it felt like my balls were in my stomach, i cant imagen feeling that for 4 minutes.

Balls of Steel!

"He will never break the sound barrier!"

Blow it out your Ass!

[–]munimula 0 points1 point ago

....and microphones of silence. Guy needed to say more than 1 paragraph of words during the whole thing.

[–]Paelcolp 0 points1 point ago

It would take me forever to find all the times this has been reposted. At least 30

[–]Littleguyyy 0 points1 point ago

I always wonder, how do his balls fit into the tiny craft?

[–]reenact12321 0 points1 point ago

What would they have done if he got up there and was like, "guys.... I don't think this was a good idea.... take me down."

I know I'm in the minority with this thought, but I've been skydiving before at 10,000 feet. I don't see a difference in what he did to what I did, either way if something ones wrong you die. His jump just cost a whole lot more than mine.

Damnit, no aliens in background.

[–]swantamer 0 points1 point ago

"The driver is essentially ballast."

[–]V3RTiG0 0 points1 point ago

So as a skydiver who would love to do this, that also gives me balls of steel correct?

[–]Gabe1282 0 points1 point ago

I feel like being scared of heights doesn't apply at those altitudes

[–]ColeSloth 1 point2 points ago

People keep saying this, but I would have done it in a heart beat if I had the chance. I think a lot of people would. He was just lucky enough and had enough backing him to get picked.

[–]rkolb86 -1 points0 points ago

In all reality, given the context of this picture, I don't consider it "Balls of Steel".

At this point, he doesn't really have a choice. He either has to jump and most likely survive, or sit in the capsule and die. That's a pretty easy choice if you ask me.

[–]bigbadbaboon -1 points0 points ago

I wouldn't even want to jump. I would just rather stare at the scenery for a few hours first.

[–]kuhana2e 0 points1 point ago

Red Bull gives you wings?!?!

[–]T-REX_BONER 1 point2 points ago

... that picture is not from today and has been posted a million times. Why did you post this???

[–]sharksfan93 0 points1 point ago

If I got the chance I would do that in a heart beat

[–]JayEmDubya 0 points1 point ago

I can't see this as "Balls of Steel" if Redbull came up to me and said "Hey, jump from space?" I'd be like, FUCK YEAH!

[–]mig-san 0 points1 point ago

Got balls of steel, got an automobile, for a minimum wage

Got real estate, I'm buying it all up in outerspace.

[–]hamster_sword 0 points1 point ago

How much space radiation is there up there?

[–]chubbedup 0 points1 point ago

Is there a wallpaper version of this photo? Would. Be. Sick. As. Fuck.

[–]Grakch 0 points1 point ago

Honestly, it may be my alcoholism talking, scratch that, it's definitely the alcohol, but this jump is too awesome for me to fully comprehend

[–]GALACTICA-Actual 0 points1 point ago

No. Balls of steel would have been if he'd done it wearing nothing but a sequin thong riding a pony keg all the way down that he'd sucked dry by the time he reached the ground and landed on Rosie O'Donnell's fat ass.

[–]Wolf97[!] 0 points1 point ago

I literally said he had balls of steel right as he jumped.

[–]Verril 0 points1 point ago

With balls that big how does he get them into the suit??

[–]clarkhodgins 0 points1 point ago

so, how far up is it possible to go in a balloon?

[–]terrabl 0 points1 point ago

Well, something has to weigh him down.

[–]Tony339 1 point2 points ago

You guys might find interest in /r/HistoryBeingMade Basically it's just pictures of current moments that will go down in history.

[–]xbillybobx 0 points1 point ago

What is the ship he used to get up there and jump out of?

[–]lYossarian 0 points1 point ago

I'm sure this guy is highly trained and all that but I could have done that shit. You just have to jump. I'd rather do that than wait for the balloon to descend.

[–]awesomeck 0 points1 point ago

I would have foamed in my mouth and just died there without jumping.

[–]GomoGomon 0 points1 point ago

...sweet sweet karma...

[–]MrBurd 0 points1 point ago

I seriously wonder how deep the crater would be if his parachute wouldn't have opened.
