Fun fact- high-altitutde parachutist drops are referred to using the acronyms HALO and HAHO (High-Altitude, Low Opening, and High Opening - respectively). While this is not a HALO drop, it is a HAHO drop, and thus fits the acronym and the name of the game series (Halo).

Has it ever occured to anyone that people in the halo universe do a lot of falling to the ground? Master chief did so at the beginning of halo 3 and unless he wants to fly down to wherever he lands in halo 4 with the Forward unto Dawn in tow then I suspect he'll be flying solo again. And then there's all the ODSTs.

I think it was 30. There were 33 Spartan IIs on Reach (Jorge from Noble Team doesn't count) and 3, John, Linda, and James, went to a space station to destroy a navigation system. The other 30 went planetside when their pelican malfunctioned and they had to free fall.
