In 2005 a woman made her own very impressive weeping angel costume and pulled this same gag on a woman at DragonCon who turned out to be Jewel Staite of Firefly. Think about it...they flick you back when you are unprepared. It's not like you know exactly which time you'll end up in either. You flick back. No proof of identity. No money (yours will likely be minted after the time you arrive, so if you try and use it, you are arrested for counterfeiting). Your skills? You have none that are valid. The technology you currently use hasn't been invented. You also don't have any papers to say you are a tradesman, engineer, doctor. You have to find some sort of menial work to start just to buy food. Today's population is not used to manual labor. Then find some sort of shelter.

Assuming you are not mugged or killed or frozen to death living on the streets, and actually survive the first year, you might start to think about making money on the stock market. Unfortunately, with the low wage jobs you've managed to find, you are living hand to mouth. Lets even say you've managed to squirrel a little away. How do you know what stock will go up or down on a certain day? Overall you might know the IBM is a good bet 40 years ago, but that is long term. Sporting bets? Do you remember any results from before you were born? Investing in technology? You need a lot of seed money to start that. "I'll make a Sony walkman" really? How? You need more than ideas. What if you are thrown back to 1900? What skills do you have to survive? What about 1870? Can you ride a horse? Even your language would be considered vulgar and uncivilized.

Reference for the really uninitiated. The Weeping Angels are basically aliens that look like statues. They don't move while you look at them (hence "Don't Blink"). They feed on the energy from sending people back in time. So if you so much as Blink they'll send you back in time and you'll live out the rest of your life but (probably) never see anyone you love again. Or they just kill you. They're very scary.

It seems like a weeping angel wouldn't be that hard to defeat, while they are frozen as stone you could tie they up with chains, push them off a cliff, plant explosives around them, etc. once you know a statue is an angel it seems highly vulnerable to your attacks

Okay, so the camerawork hides it with the quick zoom, but it's clearly a very windy day and the clothes are blowing in the wind like crazy, making it clear that she is not actually carved from stone.
