All this faggot does is repost top content. Stop upvoting it you idiots.

[–]dubnine 2 points3 points ago

Some people don't live on the internet. Some people haven't seen everything like you. These people upvote, idiot.

[–]MileHighBarfly -2 points-1 points ago

OP is literally doing nothing more than reposting jokes that have hit the frontpage several times before. It's pathetic.

[–]dubnine 4 points5 points ago

More pathetic then sitting on your computer bitching about it?

See #2 on this list.

Also, a repost.

[–]CupBeEmpty 4 points5 points ago

Good lord, I hope no one reads down to #1. Heads could explode.

[–]shackes 6 points7 points ago

My head literally exploded.

[–]daghastlybeast 9 points10 points ago

there's a difference between "i'm doing good" and "i'm good"

[–]modestlife 3 points4 points ago

Yep, one is an adverb and the other an adjective.

[–]blazingscience 1 point2 points ago

Who cares?

[–]matts41 6 points7 points ago

Nope. Your link is referring to "I'm well" while this post uses "I'm doing well." Way different.

[–]EuthanizedCracker 1 point2 points ago

That isn't the same thing.

[–]Zabw12 1 point2 points ago

Thank you. I didn't have to post it.

[–]you_wont_read_this 8 points9 points ago

#3.

[–]_no_name 3 points4 points ago

umm...no. I am good is perfectly fine. I'm doing good is not. Good would have to either be a noun or adverb. It can't be an adverb, and if it's a noun it has a different meaning. Well, however, is an adverb.

[–]Fuego_Fiero 0 points1 point ago

Yep, but while you or I may feel we are doing good, the rest of the english-speaking world finds us shallow and pedantic.

[–]DevelopingDevelopmen 18 points19 points ago

That wasn't the joke.

[–]Paddy_Tanninger 5 points6 points ago

Study it out.

[–]Quaytsar 1 point2 points ago

If any of you bothered to use a modern dictionary, you'd see that one of the many, many definitions of the word "good" is literally "well". That is the extent of the definition: "well". So saying "good" when you mean "well" is perfectly acceptable in modern usage.

[–]Alchoholocaustic 2 points3 points ago

Fuckin' thank you. Redditors like to think they care about grammar, and then they let this shit front-page every week.

[–]Fuego_Fiero 2 points3 points ago

Good is not an adverb. It is an adjective or a noun. Well can be either adverb or adjective. This is why "doing good" is incorrect. "I am good" is fine.

[–]Quaytsar 0 points1 point ago

If you bothered to look in a dictionary, you'll find good defined as an adverb meaning well.

EDIT: Source 1: Reference.com

Source 2: Wiktionary

Source 3: Merriam-Webster

Source 4: The Free Dictionary

Source 5: Google

Source 6: Princeton

[–]Fuego_Fiero 0 points1 point ago

If you bothered to read those sources, you'd see that they either define it as informal or use known examples of colloquial speech. Not officially a correct usage. You might as well define your grammar from a Lil Wayne song.

[–]Quaytsar 0 points1 point ago

There is no "officially" correct English. It's whatever the masses decide is correct that is correct (hence words like "irregardless").

[–]daxattacks -1 points0 points ago

I wonder if that was a leftover gem from Donald Glover.

[–]emptythecache 4 points5 points ago

Unless I'm mistaken, Donald Glover wasn't on the writing staff until season 2, and this is from the pilot.

Sidenote: OP, The pilot for 30 Rock was literally six fucking years ago, thanks for posting this picture to reddit as if it would be something we haven't seen before.

[–]DevelopingDevelopmen 2 points3 points ago

No this was the pilot.

[–]Lampmonster1 -2 points-1 points ago

I think some redditors might still be upset about him saying he'd kill his son if he was gay.

[–]codyfitz 12 points13 points ago

Nope

[–]IZ3820 0 points1 point ago

Tracy Morgan said that?

[–]Lampmonster1 2 points3 points ago

As part of a stand up routine, yeah.

[–]IZ3820 -2 points-1 points ago

Wow. Didn't realize we were taking comedians seriously nowadays.

[–]Flyentologist 0 points1 point ago

I guess the whole Kramer thing kinda went under the radar for you then.

[–]IZ3820 0 points1 point ago

You mean Michael Richards? I saw it, remember it vividly, and he wasn't a very good stand-up comedian, and made his reputation as an actor. It was a completely different situation because he wasn't really a comedian.

Every time Daniel Tosh says something like that, we laugh and move on. Why should we take Tracy Morgan seriously when he's made a career out of saying and doing the most ridiculous things he can? His character on 30 Rock is based on himself. Watch any appearance of his on a talk show.

[–]Flyentologist 0 points1 point ago

It's not really different at all because both are actors and both are comedians. Michael Richards was doing comedy long before Seinfeld. Anyways, certain things offend certain people, and that's how things will always be. Daniel Tosh's rape joke offended some people, Tracy Morgan's "I would stab my son if he were gay" offends others.

I personally think reddit's "But he's a comedian so he can say anything and nobody should get mad" stance is beyond ridiculous, but I get the idea. It's a performer's job to say and do humorous, sometimes shocking things to get a reaction, but I don't necessarily think that immediately absolves him from any tasteless and offensive jokes or comments he may make.

[–]IZ3820 0 points1 point ago

It isn't reddit's stance. It's a lot of people's stances. Comedians aren't meant to be taken seriously. Hell, Colbert built an entire show around not being taken seriously.

[–]Flyentologist 0 points1 point ago

Right, it's a common opinion outside of reddit too and I didn't mean to imply that it's a thing only reddit thinks. What Colbert does is also very different from the Tracy Morgan debacle too, though. I think it's fair to be able to not take something seriously and understand the satire in an act, while also still finding something poorly worded and tasteless offensive.

It's all opinions though of course. Mine is that I appreciate a lot of what goes into an act, but the title of comedian doesn't make you immune to your own words.

[–]IZ3820 0 points1 point ago

Go watch a video of Tracy Morgan on talk shows. He does this shit all the time.

[–]kontraband421 -1 points0 points ago

Because that wasn't a joke or anything.. He's a comedian and most importantly Tracy Morgan, who has been known to say the most ridiculous things he can in a given situation. You are probably part of the group of people who got mad at Tosh for making that rape joke.

[–]101112 1 point2 points ago

I'm mad at Tosh because I find him terribly unfunny.

[–]Lampmonster1 -3 points-2 points ago

Nope. I also never said I was upset at Tracy. I never actually heard the bit about his son, but I remember the outrage here.

[–]eljayp 0 points1 point ago

That's my About Me section on Facebook.

[–]IZ3820 0 points1 point ago

"I'm in a show about a show! My real name's Tracy Morgan!"

[–]Muff_Ryder 0 points1 point ago

nah definitely not, at least I hope not

[–]MrDanger 0 points1 point ago

It's a usage error, not bad grammar.

[–]lawlshane 0 points1 point ago

[–]skippy737 0 points1 point ago

how can he be reddit's hero if he's not defending pedophiles?

[–]Ikimasen 0 points1 point ago

That joke seemed really, really forced on the show. I mean, Twofer is Ivy League educated. The line didn't sound right coming from the actor either.

[–]kipumab 0 points1 point ago

Did no one actually watch the episode, he totally downplays on the other black guy who's actually smart by correcting him once. Hes no hero, he a villain with a superhero mask on.

[–]ninjaneer76 0 points1 point ago

What do people find funny about Tracy Morgan? His "dumb-simple-minded-black guy" bit was old ten years ago.

[–]Lieutenant_Meow-Meow -1 points0 points ago

Grammar is not a "reddit problem." Get off your high horse.

[–]Beastieee -1 points0 points ago

I literally saw this last year.

[–]sizeby -2 points-1 points ago

As opposed to figuratively?

Edit: what? I thought you guys hated it when someone used "literally" the wrong way

Edit: I now see that, although unnecessarily, he used "literally" correctly. Thanks

[–]DrTorpedo 3 points4 points ago

As opposed to fuck you.

[–]Alchoholocaustic 0 points1 point ago

"I literally saw this last year" means he saw it a year ago. The use of the word literally here means he is not exaggerating how long it has been since he saw it.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points ago

Ive seen this post so fucking much! I swear to god reddit is just a bunch of reposts and fake sob stories. Even when there is oc it's hardly ever decent. I'm sick of this place, leaving before this place really turns to shit. Goodbye reddit!

[–]Alchoholocaustic 1 point2 points ago

Take me with you.

[–]Killhouse 0 points1 point ago

That's not even correct.

Good has two meanings, and can be used in that context.

An apple can be good, and be good for you.

[–]Alchoholocaustic 0 points1 point ago

And you can also be doing good.

"I'm good" as a grammar error is actually a myth. It's perfectly acceptable english. "I'm good" means "life is good," but "I'm well" means "My health is good."

[–]Fuego_Fiero 1 point2 points ago

No, doing good is incorrect unless you're killing Vampires or some such. Good is not yet considered an adverb.

I think the most infuriating thing about language evolution is that it's driven by incorrect usage. Those of us who understand and appreciate correct grammar are less often the ones to effect change. It's always the ignorant who win in the end.

[–]TheNativeRaver -2 points-1 points ago

Am I the only one that thinks tracy morgan is a shitty actor?

[–]jackflash2011 -4 points-3 points ago

Tracy Morgan is correct, of course. A similar oft-stated grammar is very wrong, however: "I'm good" is correct while "I'm well" is not, because English doesn't allow adverbs after conjugations of to be. You can say "I'm blue" or "I'm tired" or "I'm heavy" but not "I'm happily" or "I'm quickly." This is why "I'm well" sounds very forced while "I'm good" is much more natural.

[–]mandiexile 3 points4 points ago

It's "I'm doing well" and "I'm doing good" that's being argued.

[–]matts41 2 points3 points ago

Also, "I'm well" is perfectly fine when 'well' is an adjective meaning "not sick."

[–]jackflash2011 0 points1 point ago

Yes, you're right. But that's a little more specific than what someone usually is trying to say when they say "I'm good" so it isn't always a substitute.

[–]jackflash2011 0 points1 point ago

That's why I said I was talking about a "similar" grammar-nazi correction that's incorrect, while "Tracy Morgan is correct."

[–]IZ3820 1 point2 points ago

Well is an adjective, noun, verb, and an adverb.

[–]Fuego_Fiero 0 points1 point ago

I was going to ask how well was a noun... then I remembered Timmy.

Lassie, I'm so sorry I didn't listen!

[–]IZ3820 0 points1 point ago

Well is a magnificent word

[–]chewp911 -5 points-4 points ago

Also the kerning is fucking terrible in this.

[–]MsFoxTrott -4 points-3 points ago
