Exactly. Whenever I see this gif posted people shout about how cruel it is that they're making the bear face a lion. The bear isn't thinking "Oh no a lion!" he's thinking "Oh no something I'm not familiar with!" He doesn't know that lions are any more dangerous than kittens or puppies.

I don't know about that specific interaction (well actually, obviously the lion), but IIRC 19th century Californians used to pit these two animals against each other and the bear would win, every time. Apparently the lions' skulls are too thin to withstand a single hulksmash claw-swipe from the bears, and are killed whilst the lions are still trying to go for the jugular.

There is context to this link. The bear was scared of everything, which isn't good for animals being raised in a zoo. By doing this, it enabled the bear to interact peacefully with the Lion, seen by the last portion of the film. One of the previous reposts of this link shows the bear and the lion currently interacting.

They used to do it in Cali during the gold rush as well for entertainment, ala Roman style. The bears would routinely fuck up the lions to the point where there was no point in betting against a bear vs. less than 3 lions.

It depends on the bear species. There are some pockets of lions in central asia and india, but they are pretty rare. There might be some overlap, but not very much.

*edit: why the downvotes? There are bears in india. There are lions in india. The only question is whether their ranges overlap and their behavior towards each other is typically aggressive. I can never seem to be able to predict why some of my comments are down-voted.

Whenever there are two more black people (usually young adult makes, or even teens) I make sure to cross the street.

I'm someone who people constantly say is intimidating. I'm tall and very broad shouldered and I shave my head (male pattern baldness is a bitch). At least once a month I hear about how imposing and intimidating I am. It's really annoying because I try to be friendly and kind to those around me.

People sometimes react kind of like this gif by crossing the street or locking their car door if I'm crossing in front of them. It really bothers me. It's not even a race thing as I'm white and the people doing this are usually also white.

Keep this post in mind next time you feel that way. We big intimidating looking guys can tell, and though some of us are douchbags, most of us feel bad about it.

I'm 6'3", 270lb (in okay shape - not great, but I'm a big guy), have a large beard and and going to be shaving my head (yay going bald at 20). I'm really just a teddy bear but people tend to stay away from me if they don't know me. I've actually had close friends tell me I'm scary-looking. Babies love me though, so that has to count for something.
