Don't you just love it when the bullshit you threw together comes out amazingly?

[–]09112001 11 points12 points ago

Are you talking about his speech or this post?

[–]hansjens47 0 points1 point ago

hope it's the post.

[–]MeinKampfyChair[S] 3 points4 points ago

I honestly thought it was garbage. Luckily, the ones before me bombed harder than Pearl Harbor, so maybe I just looked great in comparison.

[–]Solitaryfein 2 points3 points ago

Don't trust him. He could be lying.

[–]ProbablyNotLying 6 points7 points ago

I could be, but I'm probably not.

[–]an0nym1ty 1 point2 points ago

I...I remember you.

[–]ProbablyNotLying 0 points1 point ago

That's funny, I don't remember me.

I write my best monologues when tipsy. The added confidence and enthusiasm comes out in the writing.

[–]MeinKampfyChair[S] 1 point2 points ago

I think a lot of it is/was showmanship. You can have the best speech written out, but if you have the delivery of Ben Stein people are going to fall asleep. Being enthusiastic, engaging, and articulate can really elevate a speech that in and of itself wasn't very good, to something people enjoy hearing.

[–]RoboPimp 3 points4 points ago

Can u post the speech?

[–]quaybrother 0 points1 point ago

Yes please, I think you are lying.

[–]CaptainCapybara 3 points4 points ago

Kind of makes you question whether or not the class is worth your time and money, huh?

[–]embolalia 6 points7 points ago

You clearly aren't a very good bullshitter. I do my best work within 12 hours of the deadline.

[–]ZeeJules67 1 point2 points ago

Why is that? I'm majoring in English and all I write is done just before the deadline and it's always in the tops. Is it something to do with the sense of urgency?

[–]MarBakwas 2 points3 points ago

What if they turn out better when you take your time? Have you tried doing it on time?

[–]ZeeJules67 1 point2 points ago

I have and I only get frustrated and can't think as well as when I do it near the deadline. I think having so much time really annoys me. Maybe it's just a habit though.

[–]geetar_man 1 point2 points ago

A question with sense! I can be a good bullshitter, but I realize that a) bullshitting is a horrible trait to have. Yes it can also be a good trait, but procrastinating until the last minute is not good, and wouldn't be good in the work environment. And b) my work is MUCH better when I take my time. I find myself doing many well done edits when I have the time to reread and reread and reread my papers.

[–]MeinKampfyChair[S] 0 points1 point ago

Taking your time? But then how will I find the time to spend all day on reddit and masturbate three times? Priorities man, priorities.

[–]CaptainCapybara 0 points1 point ago

I was simply observing that any class in which the work can be put together at the last minute (or, in your example, aced by using pre-existing bullshit skills) makes me question how much I'm actually learning for the time and money being invested.

[–]CuriousAbra 0 points1 point ago

Maybe it's a mandatory class?

[–]AgentShifty 0 points1 point ago

Serious question, im going to college next year, and one of my qualities is publicly speak ing (ranting). What courses can I enrol in that inquire speaking and presentations?

[–]geetar_man 0 points1 point ago

That greatly varies, and depends on the professor. The professor in my politics class is great at letting us have a say. You could take a speech communications course. I don't know of any classes with a direct focus on speech in my college.

[–]MeinKampfyChair[S] 1 point2 points ago

Isn't speech communications a major? If you're really into it, why not? I don't know what it would do for you in the real world, but hey, I'm a Poli Sci major. I didn't exactly choose my degree for the real world applications.

[–]MoonBaseViceSquad 1 point2 points ago

Fuck the real world. Do you know the caliber of ladies that are communications majors? And how many of them there are?

If your goal is to go to any respected 4-year institution, that will not fly for you. College is a hell of a lot different than high school in both the lifestyle as well as academic aspect.

[–]BobFiggins 0 points1 point ago

Deleted the post, down-voted for mentioning grade school and high school in an obvious college thread. Guess that was too far off-topic.

Also, obviously College is way more serious than what came before it, knew that already. I'll end up going to a technical college for game-design, where any homework I get, will probably be something I'm very interested in doing.
