That's why I make my dog wear a seat belt in the car. It's not foolproof but it slows him down enough to catch him if he lunges.

Just a normal day. Sniffed a few things, ate that smelly thing by the dumpster--you know. The usual.

But something seemed off. Whether it was the way Master looked at me, or the way he kept talking into that little robot. Something. Seemed. Off.

But alas. When Master said we were going for a walk, all inhibitions left my mind. I ran up to him to thank him, but next thing I knew, he had me in the scary metal box. I knew that meant one thing:

The man with the cold hands.

I detested the man with the cold hands ever since he took what was most important to me. It still hurts to think about them... As we left to go to the man with the cold hands, I saw my one friend besides Master.

Toby. Toby! I called out to him to save me, and with the last few seconds before we took off, I was able to tell him exactly where I was going. Next thing I knew, Toby was chasing us down like there were no tomorrow.

But we were speeding up. There was no way Toby could catch up. I knew there was only one option...

While Master wasn't looking, I noticed he left my cage open. Without thinking I knew what I had to do.

I jumped.

I jumped with every muscle in my body. Hoping to God Toby would catch me, I leapt out of that infernal machine.

However, Toby didn't catch me. I just rolled down the hill. But regardless. I was free! I was free!!!

My dog fell out of the window in a old navy parking lot once. I then proceeded to chase him around in my pajamas. He thought we were playing. It was rush hour traffic and I could see people laughing at me. Now I keep the windows closed and I also don't go out in pajamas.

I've always loved this .gif, because it makes me think of both my father and grandfather. I had a dog named Barney (a cocker spaniel,) and we'd take him out on empty roads at the outskirts of town and 'drive' him around on runs just like the first dog in the gif.

The second part reminds me of my grandfather. As a family we camped fairly religiously (have a cabin in waterton, had annual huckleberry picking expeditions,) so we were in the mountains quite a lot, and if you've driven through the mountains you know that a lot of 'roads' are in actuality just places where the ground bush and trees have been cleared out wide enough to fit a vehicle.

So I'm in my grandfather's old giant suburban (72 or something) and the vehicle is just going along at a pretty good (considering the area, so by no means fast, maybe 10kph) pace, pushing tree branches out of the way constantly, same way they do when you walk through a forest, right? But one of my grandfather's dogs, Tippy, is pissed off that these branches are slapping the vehicle. We've got our windows rolled down and the dog starts biting at branches/leaves as they whip past the vehicle, and I'm of course in the back with my cousins and think this is hilarious.

Then Tippy bites a branch nice and hard, and holds on, and gets yanked out of the window while my grandfather yells 'Tippy, you retard!'

Tippy was fine, by the way.

I love letting my dogs hang their heads out the window because I know how much they love it, but I restrain them. However, holy hell it scares the piss out of me when folks let their dogs do it without any restraints because of this very reason. Don't even get me started on folks who drive down the highway with their dogs in the back of a truck unrestrained.

My dog did this once (frenchie). Was driving 40mph on a road in town and she just leaped out. No idea why....Thankfully I was the far right lane so she jumped into a bike lane but I still find it amazing that 1) she did it 2) no injuries whatsoever and 3) how dogs are that dumb

One day I was walking my dog and this ute (pickup truck for the Americans) drove past with a trailer attached. In the tray of the ute was a dog, who was unsecured. He saw my dog, started barking and just leapt out of the tray trying to join us, promptly bit bitumen and got run over by the trailer...

He got up and limped a little, so I think he was ok.

This just shows you what a good breed of dog the Lab/Retriever is, when a Zombie dog is chasing you, the zombie dog doesn't give up - it doesn't know how to stop, your dog knows your going to run out of gas later and when you do that monster zombie dog is going to eat through your car door and have its main meal. So being the brave little companion it jumps out the car to save you. I miss you Jimbo - best pet ever.
